I do have a problem with this, the constitution did not allow slavery, in the preambe it states that all men are to be treated equal regardless of race and that everyone has the god given right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Now slavery would kind of hinder liberty and pursuit of happiness for those enslaved now wouldn't it?
