It was early in the evening and Zuberi was wondering around past the packs borders. It was a wonderfully clear evening and Zuberi was enjoying looking at all the stars above him.
Zuberi enjoyed getting out past the pack lands, he thought it to be one of the best ways to learn. It wasn't always the easiest thing to accomplish though, his mother wasn't one to let her pups wonder aimlessly by themselves. He had a great deal of respect for his mother but he needed to get out and see the world too, how else would he become a grown up.
As Zuberi was moving through some long grass, he caught the sent of another close by. He looked around trying to spot where the sent was coming from. It wasn't a sent he recognized, he really didn't know that many others outside of his own pack, so he wasn't surprised the sent was mysterious to him. He wondered if this other dog would like to meet him, then again he wasn't all that sure that he would give her a choice. He started making his way toward where the female stood.

Shubanu sat by a small watering hole. She'd slipped away from her family to have a bath and watch the sunset. She'd been busy all day learning to hunt and practicing her manner, but now she could simply rest, belly full and content to watch the sunset.
Her head dress was pushed back she could properly wash her face, but now she lower her head slowly and gently to allow it to slip back into place. She did not notice anything out of the ordinary and had no idea she was currently being watched.

Zuberi came up right behind the girl, she seemed to be rather peaceful and he didn't think she would mind the company at least he hoped that she wouldn't. Now how to go about approaching her without startling her. He decided to go about it the simple way, he cleared his throat. Hoping that would be enough.
Without fully waiting for her to turn an acknowledge him, "Hi there, my name is Zuberi, I uh hope I didn't scare you." He smiled politely.

The male only made it half way to Shubanu before she realized he was there, though she chose to to acknowledge him in hopes that he would leave. This however was not to be the case. The male did not stop and if fact came right up to her. She turned her head toward him, looking him over with bright gray eyes.
"No you did not frighten me. I knew you were there before you reached me and I am Shubanu. Nice to meet you."
Shu turned back toward the water and looked toward the sun that would soon sit. It was obvious the male had no intention on leaving and Shu really did not see the harm in making a new friend, even though she'd planned on a peaceful sunset alone.
"I was just about to watch the sunset, if you'd like to join me."

Zuberi plopped down beside her looking over the water's edge to the sinking sun. It was nice to watch the sunset, a peaceful activity that Zuberi often didn't bother with. "I'd love to join you." Zuberi said softly, he had already sat down but he thought it best to tell her too.
As Zuberi watched the sun get lower and lower he began to think of question he wanted to ask Shubanu, why was she out here alone, where was her family, did she belong to a pack. His little mind was racing, which was fairly normal, he was trying to decided if he should go ahead and ask her questions. He glanced over a Shubanu she looked fairly peaceful watching the sun set, he wondered if his questions would disturb her, he wanted her to like him, but how was he suppose to get to know her if he didn't ask her any questions.
He fidgeted slightly in where he sat, he didn't like knowing what to do. He finally decided to ask one question to start with and let it go from there, maybe she had questions for him too. "Why are you out here alone?" Zuberi mumbled.

Shubanu watched the sunset, enjoying the peace of it all. She was happy that Zuberi was quiet, but she knew most pups could not stay quiet as long as she could. She wasn't suprised when the young male asked her a question and she turned her gray eyes on him and smiled slightly.
"I was trying to escape my brothers and sisters for a while. I have many, it can be a bit much at times. I love them, but I love to watch the sunset for a while. They are not to far off."
Shubanu was curious to know why Zuberi was out alone as well and decided to go ahead and ask. "Why are you out all alone?"

Zuberi smiled, he was glad she wasn't mad at him. "I am just venturing out to see the world beyond my pack. I love where I live and my family is all there.... I have 7 siblings, and my mom." Zuberi looked around himself it was very nice being out of the pack seeing the world.
"You have a lot of siblings? How many? Do you live in a pack too?" Zuberi realized he was rambling slightly, he paused hoping she didn't mind. The girl was older then he was he thought, but he didn't think that it was by much. He was a kid, and had been for a little while, but he knew he was still young.
Zuberi looked Shubanu over again, she was more colorful than most dogs he knew.... the closest thing to color in his family was there eyes, and the fact that a couple of his siblings had a dull pink color to their fur, but mostly they were all brown. He liked seeing different colors.

Shu grinned. Zuberi had a large family just like she did, although she had to more siblings than he. "I have 9 siblings and my mom. I never met my dad and it just me and my family. We do not have a pack."
Shu hardly noticed the other had been rambling. It was not the first time she'd met another wilddog, but it was the first time the other claimed to belong to a pack.
"What is you pack called? Are there a lot of you? Is it fun living in a pack?" Shu was very curious about the pack, as she never heard much on the subject. She was eager to hear about pack like and hoped Zuberi would give her the scoop.

Zuberi got excited about the prospect of talking about his pack. He smiled at the thought of his pack, " My pack is the Peek Na Pack. It's awesome, there is quite a few members... lots of younger ones, which is awesome for me." Zuberi was happy talking about his pack, not only did he have lots of younger dogs around to play with but he also had a lot of adults to watch and learn from.
"I love being in the pack... its so much to watch learn and do. Even if I get bored of the pack I can still venture out and meet others, like today." It was great having both sides of the world, he got to benefit from it all. "Honestly I would recommend pack life to anyone, but well I guess technically there are some who don't like it. I just love it."
Zuberi then thought about how Shu had mentioned that she didn't have a father either. "You never met your dad? Me neither... I use to think I was weird because of it, you are the only other I know who doesn't have a father."

Shubanu listened eagerly her soft gray eyes shining, pack life sounded wonderful to her. It seemed as though there was always something to do, but still have moments to slip away. She wondered what it would be like to join a pack, her and her siblings and her momma. She thought maybe when she was older, just maybe she be able to be in a pack too.
"I love the way you describe that back. It seems very nice, like something I would enjoy thoroughly. Your right though, I bet a wandering spirit wouldn't like a stationary pack," said Shubanu smiling.
Shubanu shook her head at Zuberi's question," No I've never met him, he was gone before we were born. The only thing I know about his is from looking at my siblings and I versus my momma. He has brown, white, pink fur. Those are the colors we have but momma doesn't have."

"Oh my pack is great. It is a wonderful place." Zuberi smiled up at her. He was like the unofficial spokes person for the pack it would seem.
Zuberi laughed at how Shubanu figured stuff out about her dad, it was the same way Zuberi and his sibling figured things out about his dad. For instance he knew that his stripes much have come from his dad. But his pelt color and eyes were all his mom. But the pink and light tan color so many of his siblings had were definitely from his dad. "I've done that a lot to. Its weird thinking that there is someone out there that looks so much like me and my siblings, and we know nothing of them."
His father was a bit of an uncomfortable topic for Zuberi, in someways he wanted to vent about his dad, but in other ways it was kind of weird he knew nothing of him. That didn't hinder his life at all though, he was going to live it to the fullest. "Do you ever wish you had met him?"

Shubanu smiled and nodded, "I understand what you mean. While I have my mothers teal coloring everything is my dad's and it weird knowing that my dad is out there running around looking very much like me and knowing nothing else about him."
Shubanu looked to the sky seeing the stars peeking into view and the sun mostly below the horizon. She knew soon she would have to head back to her mother and siblings.
"I would like to meet him one day, maybe when I am older I will look for him. I want to know if I have more siblings and what he is like." Shu looked to the sky again and frowned not wanting to leave her new friend.
"The stars are coming out," she sighed, "that means we should be heading back to our family's soon."

Zuberi thought about going and finding his dad but he didn't think he would ever go looking. Zuberi looked up at the sky, she was right it was getting late in the night. If he stayed away from the pack lands much longer he would have to answer a lot of questions when he returned.
"I guess you are right, we should get back to our families, I am really happy I met you, I hope that I get to see you again soon." he smiled to her one more time and then turned and began to head in the direction of his pack. It had been a good night he thought.
