Here's my plans for this story I've been writing for about a month now!
It started out as a simple, short story, and quickly escalated into something very important to me. I want to see this ANIMATED. It is very possible!
Anyway, It's under HEAVY "WIP" status, and things are being edited, shuffled, added, etc. at an extreme rate. However, when I release it, it will be released in sections.
The first section I release is a "How to Read" document, explaining very important things, such as the purposes for some things I do. It is NOT necessary to read this document before reading the actual story, but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you DON'T read this document, I'll say this now: YOU WILL WANT A DICTIONARY.
The second section I release will be the "Character Printout" document. This document goes into detail for each character involved in the story, INCLUDING MY OWN. It looks kinda like a prison file with the way it's set up and organized, but it's handy, and fun to carry around to explain things to friends. EDIT: The Character Printout document will be changed to the final document released, as the profiles have spoilers in them.
I third section I release will be a "Font Pack", with a readme on installation for those who don't know. If you already know, you don't need to read it.
The FINAL section I release will be the story itself. I still haven't decided if I'm going to split the document into parts and release them regularly, one chapter per part (Most likely), or if i'm just going to release the master document, with occasional updates. There MAY be a few things I release before the story, but the story will be the last thing released. I FULLY INTEND TO MAKE THIS AN ANIMATION. This could be a couple of years before I can get into a position to START, but this is my pet project, and is my chance to get noticed for some REAL training. I have several people that I'm interested in having join me with the project. You can ask me to allow you to help, but I warn you; I'm a nasty perfectionist, I'm a stickler for detail, and it's not very likely that I need anyone else at the moment. If I need you, I will come to YOU.
If you have ideas for the story, send them to meh! But I can't guarantee they'll be used!
I have a story on hiatus that is a PREQUEL to Beyond Border Gensokyo, and it's already started! It's called "Incredible Pains of Unarmored Heart", and might explain several thngs, like why Laevateinn isn't in Flandre's posession anymore. 'IPoUH' focuses a lot on Flandre, when she suddenly starts feeling new emotions, and isn't as 'crazy' as she used to be. Through the story, it's discovered that she has feelings for Patchouli, and develops a 'second family' of sorts with Maisa and Alice. IPoUH ties in with BBG in several things like that, but one detail won't be quite as evident, so I'll mention it here. Shanghai the Doll only appears in IPoUH, and Hourai the Puppet is mentioned as 'MIA' several times. However, in BBG, Hourai is back in action and is even a MAIN character with an important role! I'm undecided on adding Shanghai into BBG, but I'm all out of colors!
I also have to mention that NEITHER STORY IS FORMATTED OR MEANT TO BE PRINTED! Things are OPTIMIZED FOR AND MEANT TO BE READ ONSCREEN, but if you want to print the story, it's not like I have the ability to stop your fnger from pushing the 'print' button. Some people like to have a printed copy of things. However, I guarantee that printing the document will make things harder to read, not easier. If you're colorblind in any way, I strongly urge you to not waste your ink.
I have nine chapters 'completed' (HIGHLY subject to change), and I'm working on the tenth. I intend to have THIRTY-FIVE CHAPTERS by sometime in the summer. However, I also intend to have a LOT more to add beyond that point, but 35 Chapters to Beyond Border Gensokyo in the summer is my goal. Cheer me on!

Summary:
Many realms exist apart from each other, and none of them know about any of the others. Except in dying fables, that is. 'Alternate Dimensions' are a fictitious thing, as any resident of any realm would say.
Until the border surronding the realm of Gensokyo starts to dissolve, merging it with our realm, known as 'Mercatia'.
People from our realm of Mercatia start spontaneously disappearing, vanishing into thin air, and appearing in Gensokyo. At the same time, residents of Gensokyo are suddenly able to pass through the border by even the smallest desire to see the 'outer world'. However, the border is designed to not allow anything INTO Gensokyo, and it will not deviate from that. So when the priestess, Reimu Hakurei, who maintains the border and the wards protecting Gensokyo, accidentally passes through the border in search of her tengu reporter friend, Aya Shameimaru, things rapidly start to deteriorate. Local resident vampire, Remilia Scarlet, sets out to find Reimu and Aya, but also passes through the border without even realizing it. Magical puppeteer Alice Margatroid and the witch Marisa Kirisame are out looking for Reimu not far behind Remilia. Remilia is made aware that she has passed through the border with Reimu and Aya, when Marisa sails through the border, separating Alice from the girl she secretly loves. Remilia instructs Alice to gather everyone in Gensokyo into Reimu's shrine, fearing that the border may collapse in on itself, and compress everyone inside into a bloody mess of entrails across the countryside. Alice sets out on her new duty, believing Marisa to be gone forever with her probably fatal collision on the ground when she fell from her broom. It's now a race against time to save Gensokyo and everyone in it. Meanwhile, a human child named Dais Waynhim and a strange, alien boy from another world named Machabel Derivitas, who both live in the realm of Mercatia, are investigating the disappearances from Mercatia. They are on a treasure quest for a book, and the mysterious author that might be the key to solving what happened and where the victims had vanished to. But things aren't as easy as they sound when they discover that there is no apparent author to the book, only a little girl claiming to be the book's protector, who flies away and can freeze things just by touching them.
What will happen if Machabel's simple mathematic prediction continues as theorized?
Will everyone from the realm of Mercatia really be spirited away into Gensokyo?
Will a vampire, a witch, a priestess, and a tengu be able to survive in this world of humans long enough to find the one way to save Gensokyo?
Or is Gensokyo doomed to be destroyed, with the four girls stranded in a strange realm of technology and barbaric humans?
Is everyone in Mercatia fated to be sucked into Gensokyo, only to be destroyed moments later?
