Bahamut: *resting under a tree, stargazing*

Eka: *leaning against a tree stump, watching the stars with wide eyes*

Bahamut: *sees the other Namir stargazing as well* The sky is very clear today. It is a beautiful night for stargazing.

Eka: *nods* Isn't it? It's as if I could jump up, and catch them in my paw.

Bahamut: Indeed. Though no matter how high I fly, I can never even come close to doing so. They are beautiful, but forever distant.

Eka: *sighs contently* Distant for now at least... I hope to some reach one.

Bahamut: A lofty goal. And one that's quite difficult to accomplish. Humans have only made it as far as the moon.

Eka: *shrugs and smiles* But as long as there's hope for it, I know that one day it will happen.

Bahamut: *nods* Quite true. Hope can inspire the accomplishment of many things. *watches sky in silence for a moment* Ah, I've been rude to start a conversation without introducing myself. My name is Bahamut.

Eka: *watches a shooting star, the light of it reflecting in her eyes. still looking up* And I am Eka... Or at least I am now Eka... I was Kaiko, but no more...

Bahamut: Oh, you changed your name? Did you have any particular reason for doing so, if you don't mind me asking?

Eka: No, I did not change my name. A human changed it, not I. My old human grew tired of me, so she gave me to this one, and this once gave me a new name. So now I am Eka, not Kaiko.

Bahamut: *frowns* That was not very considerate of your first human, to give you away like an old toy she gre bored of. I hope your new human treats you better.

Eka: *smiles softly* I am hopeful of that

Bahamut: *nods, then looks back up at the sky* I find an interesting aspect of stargazing to be identifying the constellations. Do you know of them?

Eka: *raises a paw to point* Orion.

Bahamut: *nods* Yes, very good. I'm fond of Draco, the dragon. *outlines another constellation*

Bahamut: *wanders by the clearing*

Eka: *slowly wandering by the treeline*

Bahamut: *sees Eka pass by* Good evening, Eka.

Eka: *stops and looks over* Oh. Good evening Bahamut. How are you at this time?

Bahamut: I am well, and enjoying the night air. How are you?

Eka: I am likewise. *looks up* And the clouds could have picked not a more perfect night to come together. It is lovely, is it not?

Bahamut: *look up at the sky as well* Quite lovely indeed. *stares at the sky for a moment* What brings you here, just cloud-gazing?

Eka: *also watches the sky. looks over at him for a moment before returning her look upwards* It is how I normally spend my night.

Bahamut: I see. Is it because you wish to fly to the moon, as you once mentioned?

Eka: *nods* It is as such.

Bahamut: *nods thoughtfully* Hmm...I may not have the ability to fly to the moon, but if you wish could fly you to the top of a tall mountain. That would be as close as one could get to the moon while still residing on the Earth.

Eka: *sighs contently* That sounds quite nice, to be so close to it as that may bring me.

Bahamut: Very well. If you would like, we could make the journey tonight. I am not strong enough to carry an adult Namir the entire distance, but if we walked to the mountain I could carry you up it.

Eka: If you would be so kind as to, I would not dare complain about a little walk on my part.

Bahamut: Splendid. We have even more reason to be glad for the fair weather, since it it a pleasant night for walking. The mountains are this way. *starts walking at an easy pace to start with*

Eka: I would agree. *follows*

Bahamut: *leads on* If you do not mind me asking, why do you wish to travel to the moon?

Eka: *walking next to him* I do not know my excact reason for wanting to go to it, all I know is that I certianly have a deep attraction towards it, as if it is calling me adn I must answer

(continued 4/9/09)

Bahamut: *nods* It is not unheard of to have such compulsions. I have read of mythical dragons being compelled to collect gold and treasure, and while I do not feel such a need to collect, I do appreciate fine items.

Eka: Is that so? I had never heard of such a thing until now.

Bahamut: As I said, I did read those in myths and legends, so they may not even be true. *sees the mountains they're heading for* We are getting close.

Eka: It would be nice to think them as true though, wouldn't it? *looks ahead at the mountains* That was quicker than I had anticipated, although they still appear quite a ways away.

Bahamut: Yes, they are quite a distance away. The sheer size of mountains can make them seem fairly close while they are still a very long distance away, even miles.

Eka: *nods* It is the same with the stars as well, is it not? And with the moon and it's changing shape, though it does not change at all.

Bahamut: That is true. Great distances create a number of misleading illusions such as those.

Eka: And because it appears to not change, it may frusturate many, but not i.

Bahamut: It is good to be patient and persevere. Nothing comes of impatience, and as long as a goal is possible it is always worth striving for.

Eka: And the longer it takes to reach it, the sweeter the fruits of its accomplishment will be.

Bahamut: Quite so. And an accomplishment one did not have to work for is nowhere as fulfilling.

Eka: How could you call somethign as such an acomplishment at all?

Bahamut: I do not know, but some people do it. Some people do not have a very strong work ethic.

(continued 4/10/09)

Eka: That is a shame...

Bahamut: Quite so. *The ground starts to rise, since they've reach the edge of the foothills* We're getting close. Once the ground gets too steep or rocky to walk comfortably, I will give you a ride.

Eka: *looks at the rising scenery* It would appear as such. *sighs* The type of namir that could give up so easily irritate me.

Bahamut: *nods* Such a Namir would likely irritate any other who is hardworking. Luckily I have not run into such slothful Namrah recently.

Eka: Neither have I

Bahamut: Then we can consider ourselves fortunate not to have had to consort with such Namrah.

Eka: *nods* That I am grateful for.

Bahamut: *nods, then they come to a rocky area that'd be difficult to climb* It seems now would be a good time to fly. Hmm...*looks around, wondering how best to do this, then kneels* Here, climb on my back and grasp my neck. Try to keep yourself centered so that you do not interfere with my wings.

(continued 4/23/09)

Eka: Okay, as you say. *climbs on and situates herself* Is this right?

Bahamut: *stands up carefully, shifting his weight slightly to make sure she's properly centered* That will do. We shall be off now. *leaps upward, circling at a fairly gradual incline so that he can gain height without flying so steeply that she'd be in danger of falling off*

Eka: *leans foreward and holds onto him softly with both arms as he takes off*

Bahamut: *flies higher, traveling more steeply now and ascending alongside the mountain. calls over his shoulder to Eka, raising his voice to be heard over the wind of their flight* Are you faring well? Not feeling uncomfortable or anything?

(continued 4/28/09)

Eka: *holds on to his shoulders and shakes her head* I am doing quite well

Bahamut: *nods, flies until his wings begin to strain from the extra weight. Is about to land, but sees that they're near the top. Call over his shoulder:* We are almost there. I'll land soon. *Keeps going, his wings trembling from the effort, and gets to the top shortly before his wings would start to give out* Hold on! *half-crash lands on the summit, kneels with his wings outstretched to rest them, panting slightly*

Eka: *watches him fly and notices the wings, wondering if he's alright* Okay! *jumps off as he lands, not wanting to be burden to him longer than she was*

Bahamut: *stays where he is for now, looking up at the sky*

Eka: Isn't it lovely up here?

Bahamut: *has stopped panting, sits up and looks at Eka* Yes it is. It's quite breathtaking, really.

Eka: *nods* Thank you for taking me here

Bahamut: You are quite welcome. I was glad to oblige such a wish, especially for such a pretty lady.

Eka: Well, I am much in your debt.

Bahamut: Think nothing of it, it was my pleasure. *looks back at the sky, then at the surrounding land* You rarely find such a view as the one that can be seen from a mountaintop. If it were day, we would be treated to an unparalleled view of the landscape.

Eka: It may be as such, though I will still find a way to repay you some day.

Bahamut: As you wish. Then I shall look forward to seeing what you may come up with.

Eka
Bahamut

Eka: *tosses out*

Bahamut: *glides by, notices Eka and turns around to land near her* Hello Miss Eka. How Are you today?

Eka: *watches Bahamut glide down, and isn't in a hurry to answer him* I am... fine. *looks into his eyes* How are you?

Bahamut: *notices the hesitation* I am well. Has anythign interesting happened today?

Eka: *shakes her head* Nothing exceptional.

Bahamut: Hmm. *looks up, seeing the starts coming out* We never did finish discussing constelations, did we?

Eka: *shakes her head* No, I don't beleive we did.

Bahamut: Well, I believe I mentioned that my favorite is Draco, the dragon. *points out the roughly crescent-shaped chain of stars* Do you have a favorite constellation?

Eka: *nods as she looks up at Draco* I also have a favorite... *points* Virgo, the virgin angel

Bahamut: *nods* Quite a nice one. Then there's Scorpio. *points

Eka: *looks up and nods* One of the females at my new house is the constellation

Bahamut: Which constellation, Scorpia? I have not heard of a constellation residing among the living before, but Namiah does tend to have some rather unusual residents.

Eka: *nods* That it does.

Bahamut: *points up to two more constellations* An there are the Big and Little Dippers, also known as Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.

Eka: *looks up where he points and smiles softly* They are so beautiful.

Bahamut: Yes...no matter how many times I gaze at the stars, I never grow tired of them.

Eka: *nods and sighs contently* Same here

Bahamut: *content to watch the stars in silence for a moment, then a shooting star streaks by* Look, a shooting star; make a wish.

Eka: *smiles as she watches it, and closes her eyes*

Bahamut: *ponders a moment before silently making his own wish*

Eka: *smiles peacfully as her eyes are still closed*

Bahamut

Eka: *sitting alone on a hill, watching clouds*

Bahamut: *out flying for fun, spots Eka and flies down to land near her* Good afternoon, Eka.

Eka: *looks up* Good afternoon Bahamut. How are you this day?

Bahamut: I am well, thank you. And yourself?

Eka: I am fine as well

Bahamut: That is good to hear. *sits down and looks up at the sky* Did I interrupt your cloudgazing?

Eka: Only a little, though I am not one to complain about something small as that.

Bahamut: *sitting on one side of the clearing, molding a pile of snow and occasionally breathing a short, hot breath on a section to melt it and help it stick together*

Eka: *feels a slight increase of tempreture for a moment and turns around, noticing Bahamut*

Bahamut: *leans over to scoop up a fresh pawful of snow and sees Eka* Good day, Eka. How are you today?

Eka: *smiles and walks over* Quite fine, and yourself?

Bahamut: I am also well. It is a fine day and I could not resist coming out to enjoy it. Your arrival has only made it better.

Eka; Well I am glad to have made your day even slightly better. This snow, I've always loved it *sighs happily*

Bahamut: Yes, there is something beautiful and transient about it; yet in large amounts it can be an unstoppable force. *resumes molding his pile of snow, which is beginning to take a rather tall form*

Eka: And doesn't it just remind you of little stars?

Bahamut: Hmm...When it's falling, perhaps. On the ground, or the trees, or wherever it may land, it resembles other things. I once saw a canyon of bright orange sandstone with fresh snow atop it, and that more closely resembled a cake with a layer of white icing. *continues sculpting, and three distinct spires begin to develop*

Eka: *opens her eyes and stares at him in awe* For real?

Bahamut: Indeed. I have also seen glaciers; sheets of solidly-packed snow and ice as tall as hills and potentially miles long. Curiously, the snow and ice at the core of them actually appears a brilliant shade of blue. *begins to mold one of the snow sections into a somewhat fluted shape*

Eka: Woooow~ *closes her eyes and imagines them* It sounds absolutley breathtaking

Bahamut: *nods* Nature holds many wonders. *the portion he's molding begins to resemble a large, feathered wing*

Eka: it sure does. Oh, what are you making?

Bahamut: I am attempting to sculpt a swan with its wings upraised. it is a rather delicate figure in places, so we shall see how it goes. *smooths the swan's back before moving to the opposite side and starting to shape the second wing*

Eka: ooh, nice~

Bahamut: *nods and keeps working. suddenly the top portion of the wing he's working on starts to crumble and he rushes to pack it into something more stable before the whole wing falls apart*

Eka: *gasps* Oh no!

Bahamut: As I said, it is fragile. *fusses with it for a bot, then lets go and steps back to see if it holds. After watching it for a few moments to make sure it stays in place, nods and smiles to himself before resuming his work*

Eka: What a shame

Bahamut: Misfortunes and difficulties are bound to happen. But one must persevere, and occasionally challenges become opportunities. *keeps shaping. the wing looks a bit thicker than before, but otherwise similar to the other wing*

Eka: True is that statement.

Bahamut: *nods, then finishes shaping the wing and steps back to look it over for a bit. Makes a few minor touch-ups, then moves to the third section and starts shaping the long, curving neck* Have you ever tried making snow sculptures before? Even one as simple as a snowman?

Eka: *shakes her head* Sadly, this is my first chance of seeing snow.

Bahamut: I see. Perhaps you should try it sometime. While the medium is inherently transient, it can be remarkably versatile. Today the snow is just moist enough that it clings to itself well, which lends itself nicely to sculpting. *adds a thicker bulb to the top of the neck and starts narrowing the front to make a beak*

Eka: That sounds lovely. *starts rolling a ball*

Bahamut: *glances over to see Eka rolling some snow* Do you have anything in mind to make? *keeps shaping the head, going back and adding finer details*

Eka: Hmmm... Probably a star. :3

Bahamut: *chuckles* I suppose I should have guessed. *circles around to the opposite side of the snow-swan and starts adding a tail*

Eka: *smiles softly*

Bahamut: *finishes the tail, then starts adding details all over, particularly defining the wing feathers more*

Eka: *looks over from her little star-ball mess- wow, it looks wonderful

Bahamut: Thank you. *steps back to survey his work, then looks over at hers* Yours is quite creative as well.

Eka: *sweatdrops* I'm not quite good at this at all

Bahamut: You simply need more practice, one can hardly expect to be an expert at something on their first try. I've seen many more winters than you. And yous is very good for a first effort.

Eka; Okay then. *laughs lightly*

Bahamut: *smiles* And of course if it turns out that snow sculpting is not to your liking, there are other ways to enjoy the winter.

Eka: I'm sure

Bahamut: And right about now I am in the mood to sit by a cheery fire. Care to join me?

Eka: That sounds like a nice idea

Bahamut: Splendid. Well, then I shall have to find some wood and a good place to build it. *looks around for the nearest bit of reasonably dense forest, then sets off toward it with a glance at Eka to make sure she's coming with him*

Eka: *follows after curiously*

Bahamut: *makes his way to the forest and starts looking around, eventually stops at a patch of ground that has less snow then the rest and is particularly rocky* Ah this will do nicely. *turns to Eka* Would you be willing to clear the area of snow while I gather some firewood?

Eka: *smiles* Sure thing *starts cleaning off the area*

Bahamut: Thank you. I will be back shortly. *trots off into the forest, hunts around for some wood that's fairly dry and returns soon with enough for a large campfire. Sees the ground has been cleared* Ah, well done. *arranges the wood in a rough pyramid shape with a small heap of dry leaves and twigs at the center* Now, if you could take a few steps back, please.

Eka: *smiles at the approval of her job and steps back, expectant of the fire that's about to start*

Bahamut: *leans close to the firewood and gently breaths a steady tongue of flame on the wood until the catches, then stops and watches it for a moment to make sure it's burning steadily before sitting back* There we are. A bright fire, perfect for warding off winter's chill.

Bahamut: *flying around at night, looking for Eka*

Eka: *watching the stars from just under a tree*

Bahamut: *spots Eka and flies down to land near her* Ah, there you are, Eka. How are you this night?

Eka: Evening Bahamut, I am as usual

Bahamut: That is good to hear. Would you care to join me later this evening? There is something I believe you would enjoy seeing.

Eka: *smiles* You know that I always enjoy your company

Bahamut: *smiles* Splendid. Would you like to come with me to the place now? I will not be able to show it to you for a few hours, but we may still see something interesting.

Eka: *curious* Sure *stands up and stretches a leg*

Bahamut: Please follow me, then. *starts walking, heading for a high hill a little distance away that's surrounded up a clearing, allowing for a very wide and clear view of the sky*

Eka: *nods* Okay *follows after him*

Bahamut: *climbs to the top of the hill, then clears the snow off of a spot and sits down. Looks up at the sky* Now we wait for a bit. It is good that the sky is clear tonight.

Eka: *sits down next to Bahamut* What is it that we are waiting for?

Bahamut: *smiles mysteriously* You'll know it when you see it. Would you like you look for constellations while we wait?

(continued 5/7)

Eka: Oh, that sounds wonderful. *smiles*

*skipping forward in time a little*

Eka: *looks up and sees a line of light* Did you just see that?

Bahamut: *smiles as the spot of light streaks by* Ah, it's starting. Watch the sky closely, now.

Eka: *nods and looks up, her grin growing as more appear*

Bahamut: *looks over at her and smiles, seeing that she's enjoying it* Some people call these shooting stars, although they aren't actually stars. It's in fact a meteor shower.

Eka: Woah! this is so cool!

Bahamut: *nods and enjoys the spectacle in silence for a bit, spending as much time watching Eka as the sky. Finally he takes a breath* Miss Eka?

Eka: *looks over at Bahamut an blinks slowly, still smiling* Yes...?

Bahamut: *smiles at her* Miss Eka, I do believe you have captured my affections. Would you allow me to court you?

Eka: *blushes rather furiously and continues smiling* O-Of course! ^////^

Bahamut: *sighs and smiles, then tentatively curls one wing around her*

Eka: *blushes more an hesitantly scoots closer to him, until she is leaning lightly on him*

Bahamut: *curls his wing a little tighter and grins as he gazes at the stars*

Eka: *closes her eyes an smiles softly to herself before looking back up at the stars*

Bahamut: *doesn't know what else to say now, but want the meteor shower to end*

Eka: *very content just sitting there in silence next to Bahamut*

*fast forward a little more*

Bahamut: *after a while, notices that the meteors are shooting by less frequently*

Eka: *sighs softly as the meteors all but vanish* That was wonderous

Bahamut: *looks back at her with a warm look in his eyes* Yes it was.

Eka: *feels her self blush and looks down, before looking back at him with only her eyes*
