I spoke of this before even converting the guild over, but now that I finally have my computer, the time has come to put The Plan into motion. The guild will be getting a homepage befitting it's size, age, and post count. The guild itself will finally be given shape and form. My idea is to give the guild itself shape, form, and substance but I need your help. What do you see the guild as? A castle? A cathedral? Personally I see it as a sort of Victorian manor. Whatever your vision of the guild is, share it with me. There are, of course, a few stipulations. This is something that I want to look real, therefore only photos, not illustrations are suitable for submission. Secondly, all the images need to match. We need large images for proper resolution cohesion in the final project. I'm grievously not proficient enough to give you a pixel size, but a decent rule of thumb would be any picture that Google would consider it an "Extra large picture." Thirdly, I only want buildings right now. If you find really cool pictures of statues, topiary, or ornaments of some other kind great; save those. I will be wanting them, but not yet. This is a process. Finally, please post links. Ideally, if you're willing to spend the time, post small pictures that will link to far larger versions. Regardless, I don't want all kinds of page stretching. What I will be doing isn't just stealing an image. First, once all of the images are gathered, those that qualify will be put up for a vote. The winner of the vote will be used as the base structure. Many design and architectural elements will be utilized from the other, maybe even buildings being joined. We'll have to see how well all of these things blend. The final thing that merits mention is that I'm giving you all two weeks to get these images to me. I want to give everyone a good amount of time to sift through everything and search the internet but now that I can finally make this happen, I want to get it done. Remember, I will immediately be discarding any image not large enough to work with, no matter how stunningly beautiful. I will gladly answer any questions you have, in the mean time.
EDIT: Some additional things to keep in mind... I would love to not be sued into the stone age, so if you could find some way to find the photographer (just in case we don't edit the image beyond recognition) that would be nice. If they could be pictures that you took yourself, that would be fantastic (provided that they're not blurry and of at least near professional quality). Also, I plan to make an image of the building that has clickable links to the sub forums and main forum. Now don't think you need to have a building with Nine towers, nine floors, nine windows or anything else like that...In fact one of the sub-forums could be disappearing. We'll figure it all out. I just didn't want to spring the idea on all of you after you'd found your images. Try not to let it limit you that much.
EDIT: I have changed the rules to allow five submissions instead of three.
EDIT: It seems that I wasn't quite clear earlier. Please allow me to elaborate. I'm only looking for pictures of the exterior right now. I thought I had said so but I don't see it here so I suppose I left it up to assumption. Also, I didn't get into this before, but uneditted images would be much preferred.

I'm not sure if any of these will fit your expectations, but I found a page with dozens of large images of beautiful mansions. I believe that most, if not all, of the photographs were taken by the people who posted them, and most are of professional (or near so, I can't tell) quality. This is the link. I'd almost want to move into a few of them... 0_o

Here are just a few of the many images that I've found in the creative commons, as part of the creative commons they are images that are shared freely between artists and so they are free to use without having to worry about copyright. I have only posted five by Matasoga's request. Also, Josh, as you know digital visual art is what I do so if you need any digital image manipulation or effects done just let me know. I have the full sized images and if any of the pictures I have shown are chosen I'll send them to you Josh. Anyway here they are.

I like the more gothic structures provided by Daemon. I always pictured this place as something similar to Carmilla's Castle from Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Structurally something like this for the exteriorAnother exterior view.As far as interiors go, probably a lot of dark woods, paintings, tapestries, and stone carvings. Several centuries worth of various styles all mish-mashed into one another. Something with age to it. A mental weight.

Also, were all of them photos?

I could probably dig if I had to, but I share a computer right now cuz I don't have a router and I'm also usually at work so internet fun time is at a minimum.

Since no one else seems to be entering any more pics for consideration, may I put up some more of the ones I found?

Daemon Solivagus Since no one else seems to be entering any more pics for consideration, may I put up some more of the ones I found? No. I already expanded it to five pictures for you. I may allow three more if no one else enters.
