Full Name: Miles Samuel Alfar

Meaning:

Age- Teen!
Nicknames: Smiley, Mile.

Personality: So far, he seems to like doing things on his own. He doesn't like being told what to do. He is extremely blunt, but that's because of his ability. He doesn't seem to have the ability to be tactful. He tries to be kind, you can tell. He can be smug when he's predicting something, especially if he has guessed that the person he's predicting for isn't expecting what he's about to say. He is extremely protective of his mother, to the point that he challenges fate. Lately he's been trying to stop using his ability--he has a new father, and knows that said father does not appreciate being told what the future has in store for him. It's backfired on him though; he's realized something now--he cannot tell his own future, no matter how he tries. He cannot tell his friend Zemel's future either, so Miles has a feeling their fates are somehow connected.

Being an oracle, he likes being around people. He likes making friends, and having people like him, despite his lack of tact. His biggest fear is to find that his mother's fiancee doesn't like him. He worries about it on occassion. He thinks it would be one of the worst fates to discover that his own future-father dislikes him.

Miles is good with younger children, especially his siblings. He seems to be more of a tag-a-long for Josh.

Likes: Hanging out with friends, being with his cousins, being with Zemel (who isn't included in 'friends').

Dislikes: Authority figures

Hobbies: Breaking the rules. Well, bending them.

Life During Childhood: Like most Fae, Arisa was never really wanted in Lynwood. They were supposedly exiled long before she was born. Still, some of the Seelie court remained, helping as many as they could. She was only forced to leave after the Princess' first disapearance. (It was only because of Thali that Averi didn't send them away as soon as the family was discovered.) Her family has since then had a grudge against the young princess and are perhaps still plotting revenge-- but not Arisa. She knows that Thali risked her life to come back for her. The Princess will always be a friend. Since then she has dedicated her life to making the princess, her companions and children happy. Fae are known for repaying friends with acts of kindness. There's no act greater than what Thali did for 'Risa. Sadly, Thali doesn't seem to remember these events. That doesn't keep Arisa from watching over her.

She tends to be easy-going and is easily one of the most agreeable people you'll ever meet. Unless you insult her, or harm one of her friends. Then you're going to be facing a whole new fae-- one you don't want to mess with. She is prone to being mischeivious, as are all fae. Vate doesn't seem to like her.

Risa was more than surprised when she heard the doorbell ring. Perhaps the Princess was stopping by to say hello? But no.. The princess in question had been over the day before. Surely she would have said something. Thali was known for being polite, at least.. most of the time.

She opened the door hesitantly, as if she was cautious. She blinked at the sight before her. On her doorstep sat a cabbage, a rather large one too. She stared until she caught sight of something vaguely familar. The fae bent down and picked up the letter.

Thali's hand writing was as sloppy as ever, though it was curvier and more spidery than she remembered it. It also was shaky, as if the princess had been laughing when she wrote it. Never a good sign.

Congratulations on your new addition!

Risa blinked at the note. What did Thali mean by that? She continued reading.

I know you have been lonely since you moved to Barton, so I thought you could use some company. I know you know how to take care of plants. This is the same thing. You water it and make sure it has sunlight. Simple! In a few days, something wonderful will happen.

Risa's eyebrows furrowed in thought. She couldn't see anything wonderful about an over grown cabbage.

Anyway. I heard that Matthias is single. You should try seeing him sometime, you two really hit it off at the mall.

Now Risa was frowning. A cabbage was easily taken care of, but... she didn't know what she would do about Matthias. 'Hit it off' was a lie. It had seemed quite the opposite. The unseelie had seemed to find her rather annoying. It had been as if he had been merely tolerating her.

Risa had been having a rather heartfelt, though one-sided conversation with the cabbage sitting in the middle of the living room table when her door burst open.

"First sign of insanity, talking to a cabbage." Came a familar voice. "Ben, don't!" Thali and her husband walked into the living room. The elf was muttering about being shoved, before Ben opened his mouth to say something.

"Don't worry, Risa." He said, "It isn't worse than what Thali did when we had one." He rolled his eyes at the memory. "As long as you don't sing to it.. You're fine." Thali had no room to talk, in his opinion.

Thali frowned at him. Risa just smiled, "I'd never thought of singing. Will that help it grow?" She asked with a tilt of her head. "I've read to it, and talked to it, done everything you told me to do. It hasn't grown.. it just sits there."

Ben and Thali exchanged looks. "You're not really waiting for it to grow," Ben said. "If it ever does something... like hum, or glow, or really anything a cabbage shouldn't be doing. Then you'll know to watch it."

Thali continued to explain. "But don't worry if you can't watch it. If you find it open...." Ben interupted her.

"Don't worry, she won't." He said. Thali frowned at him, and left the house. "You've been given a wonderful gift." He told Risa. "Don't miss it for anything." When the fae just stared at him, he explained. "I missed it when Joshua's opened. Don't make the same mistake."
