After a small snack Oriana had prepared she cuddled up to Auren on the sheet and smiled, "It's so peaceful down here..." she kissed his neck and closed her eyes to rest on his shoulder. Auren Shiro Auren nodded in agreement and wrapped an arm around her. It was nice, having been able to just... give up his old life style just like that.

Oriana kissed Auren's cheek and sat up, "As much as i'd like to stay here with you all day... I should probably get some of the paperwork stacking up on my desk..." she sighed as she cleaned up the snack and slid it into the basket, "So... Relax, and enjoy the quietness... See you at home love." she smiled sadly and turned away to begin walking back to the castle.

Auren arched an eyebrow and followed her.
"Paperwork? Oh ******** paperwork, my dear. I don't think you could give enough of a damn to do it right now anyways." he growled playfully as he groped her.
"Besides, didn't I tell you to get an assistant or ten or something before I left?" he said.

Oriana leaned back into Auren and smiled, "I know I know, but my family never really believed in having anyone work for us... hence to why we don't have maids or butlers, or chef's. Plus, who could i actually trust with my paperwork. It's important..." she paused and smirked slightly, "But... It can also wait till morning..." She purred as she ran her free hand up through Auren's hair.

"Purring, are we?" Auren said mischeviously. "Does the kitty want something~?" he asked her, pulling her close.
Auren winked at her "Perhaps she'd like to show me up at the castle, mmm?"
He then slipped out of her grasp and started up the path.

She smiled, but then tilted her head a bit confused, "So... If I am to be showing you up to the castle... why are you ahead of me?" Oriana then giggled at her little joke and caught up with Auren. she slipped her fingers in between his and grasped his hand tightly, "So, what have you got planned when we get home?"

"Oh, I don't know. Lounging around a fire, drinking wine, and cuddling. Not like I have anything else to do these days." he said with a sigh. "What with my abandoning that life style, I don't want to have anything to do about it unless I have to."
Auren looked at her with an uneasy smile "It's... so wierd. I'm so used to the weight of my armor and sword but now its gone..." the former General said.

"Is it a bad weird?" She asked as she laid into his arm, "I mean... it's not like your armor and sword are lost forever... i'm sure my sister's little pet is probably made a friend out of it at the bottom of the lake... but still." she closed her eyes and just as she was about to doze off she opened her eyes, "Is there anyone left at the moonlight organization... And if so are you ever going to see them again?"

"It's hard. I'm so used to having that metal shell as protection but now that its gone..." Auren shrugged.
"Plenty of people. Lots of familes and trainers, plus other random elements, I guess." he sighed and looked ahead. "Ever going to see them again? Probably. Am I willing to? I don't know if I can face them yet, y'know?" Auren said sadly.
"There were others more derserving then I am of rescue, how come it was me?" he whispered softly.

Oriana stopped him and brushed through his hair, "Oh, Auren... I don't see how they could be mad at you. You did all you could, and I'm certain if it was your choice you would have fought with them till the end..." She kissed him softly and whipered, "Though i am grateful for the soul who returned you to me."

"Mmm... Her name was Alhana. She was one of the last surviving mages before that last push by the enemy. Then that push came, and she saved me before undoubtedly being overrun." Auren sighed and stared ahead, reliving those final moments with her.
"Alhana Vanderin." Auren said her name. "That was her name. She was married, and had a three year old daughter at home when we left. It's reasons like that that I don't want to go home. I don't want to see that little girl's eyes when she realizes her mother isn't coming home. Or that I, the man in charge, survived through no action of his own."
Auren sighed.

"As painful as it is... It's worse guessing your whole life." she smiled, "My father had a brother... and he was an MIA. Papa was only 13 when his big brother left for war... He had gotten a letter from him saying how everything was so calm where he was at, so peaceful... he sometimes was able to pretend he wasn't even at war." Oriana hugged Auren's shoulders, "A few weeks later my father got another letter from a friend of his brothers, saying that his brother was captured by the other side..."
"That's as far as papa ever makes it in that story... mom told me that a few months later the war ended, and papa went down to the docks to see his big brother get off the ship... but he never did. One of the generals handed him a folded flag, and a golden name plate that had his brothers name on it. not a word was spoken between the two." she sighed, "papa's been pretty sensitive about war ever since, so now when one is about to start... he takes care of it... personally."
She kissed his cheek and sighed, "as hard as it is to do... people need to know. If you keep it a secret... who will tell the dead's story... they deserve to have their story shared. Though, It should wait till you're ready. There's no sense in trying to explain a story through sobs."
She kissed his neck and took his hand again, "Want to continue..."

Auren listened to Oriana's story, and nodded in agreement.
"For now, I think its best that they don't know I'm back yet. Not until I'm ready." he sighed while taking her hand. "I don't want to answer those questions. Not yet."

She got to the castle and brought the basket into kitchen, "I'm going to go take a shower, if you don't mind..." she said as she began walking up the stairway, "It shouldn't be too long." she added, glancing over her shoulder at him.

The former General nodded and began to unpack and clean up the picnic basket.
Sighing and looking out the window as he washed the dishes, he shook his head, trying to find the answer of when to return to the Moonlight Organization and tell them of their comrades and families' fates.
Slumping his shoulders, he sourly scrubbed the saucepan.
