Dyas slept peacefully in her bed, curled up with her book. Raken was off on a picnic with Uncle Tristen, giving her full reign of her study pace. Meaning, naptime. By now, she was almost too big for her bed, having grown into an adult with the passing of the last two months. But she didn't complain. It was comfortable, if nothing else. Her hair laid sprawled out on the pillow beneathe her head, telling of her complete ease with the world. Not even Azure plagued her thoughts, though once again the male had gone missing. He had even missed her growth. But she had stopped worrying about him. He told her he would never leave her again. She just had to keep believing he'd return someday.

While out on a walk, Azure hadn't even noticed where he was going. He wasn't even paying attention he was so deep in thought. He was feeling pretty down, he was an adult now but yet he hadn't even accomplished very much, and he hadn't even seen Dyas in forever. He was turning out to be a pretty crappy boyfriend, if that's what he even was. When he finally snapped out of his train of thoughts he realized that he had stopped walking, right in front of Raken and Dyas' cave. He stared at the opening, "I bet they don't even live here anymore. New York or something is where he wanted to take her..." Azure didn't like feeling this down, maybe he would just walk through and remember the good times. He walked through the cave, down the halls. It all looked mostly the same, but it didn't mean much, it was so quiet in here.

Someday. The female twitched slightly as unknowingly stepped into the cave, automatically sending the shadow hound which was left behind to pad down the cave. It didn't take long to find the angelic male, as the other reeked of stranger and made no attempt to minimize his steps. The creature barked menacingly. And Dyas' dual colored eyes flicked open.

Azure jumped back, terrified by the sharp bark that pierced his ears. He didn't even see where the noise came from. He only assumed that some creature had taken up residency in the cave. The way the bark echoed in the cave though... Azure couldn't tell where the sound had come from, so he just stayed in place, waiting for some sign of where the creature might be.

Out from the darkness, the shadow hound leapt at Azure, jaws snapping. It had very strict orders to chase away all intruders except Raken or family. Azure held no scent of Tartara's and thus, must be eliminated from the surrounding area. Even if it meant death.
Dyas slipped out of bed to quietly walk out of her room. The shadow hound was gone. Something was wrong. She clicked her tongue against her teeth, trying to call the hound back. To no avail of course. She followed the sounds of claws scrapping against stone, the sound echooing through her home. Maybe it was a bear. Wouldn't be the first time one wandered in.

Azure yelled as something leaped at him and knocked the air out of his lungs. "Augh!" He tried to avoid the creature and its teeth. It felt odd going up against something like this because it didn't seem real, but the pain was very real. Azure was trying to find his way back out of the cave, but his mind was whirling to much as he tried to steer away from the creature, he was quickly getting lost as to where he was positioned.

Dyas quickened her pace to a run, hearing definite signs of distress. That poor bear! She focused, hard. A shadow mound started to fly beside her.
"Stand down!! Rakens voice rang clear through the cave, freezing the midnight hound before it could pursue Azure.
But Raken was no where to be seen. Dyas headed for the most prominent sounds, soft hair flowing behind her. She could see a figure ahead. A pae! The hound had found a pae! "Its okay now! Are you harmed?" The floating mound beside her spoke. It couldn't take form of people yet, but she could imitate their voices quite well. This was her mental voice.

Azure shuddered when he heard the voice of Raken which probably struck more fear in Azure then the creature did, but Azure needed to stand strong. He straightened up and looked around for the male who the voice belonged to. Azure didn't see Dyas right away as he whirled around looking for Raken, but he heard the voice which seemed vaguely familiar, he had only heard it once before. "Dyas...?" Azure questioned as he whirled around and saw a figure he could only pray was Dyas.

She continued at all speed when she saw him, realization ever so slowly dawning on her. 'Dyas...?' It was! "Azure!" The shadow clump disapated as she slammed into the boy, wrapping her arms around him as her heart cried the name she could never speak. Azure had come home!

Azure's face lit up as he was finally able to identify the pae as Dyas. "Dyas!" he shouted and the next moment she was in his arms, he lifted her slightly off the ground and twirled her around, smiling as he did so. He felt like crying, but he held it in. Azure set her down, looking for the words to say to her, but he was absolutely taken aback by his beauty that he hadn't seen in ages.

She clung to him as he twirled her around, feeling tears slick her cheeks even as Azure refrained from doing the same. Even when her feet touched the ground she still clung feircely to him. As if fearing if she let go, he'd disapear. She looked up at the male, dual colored eyes shining wetly in the glow worms light. He was an adult now, but that was okay. So was she. The female relinquished her hold to one arm so she could touch his face gingerly. She was...so happy.

Azure's smile widened when he saw how happy Dyas was. He had fully expected her to start hitting him even when he knew that wasn't in Dyas' nature because he totally deserved it. He hated to bring up the bad stuff now, but he really had to get his apologies off his chest. "I am so sorry for disappearing again Dyas." He wasn't about to make excuses for himself even if he had a lot of growing up to do then.

She quickly moved her hand from his cheek to press its index finger against his lips. She didn't want to hear it. That wasn't important to her...he told her he'd always come back. And he did. That was all that mattered to her. The female lifted to her tip toes as the hand fell away for her to press her lips against his. Typically the shy one, Dyas had dreamed about this moment for too, too long. The day Azure came back for her.

Azure instantly silenced himself. He got it, no more apologies. It was a nice reassurance that Dyas didn't hate him when she kissed him. It surprised him, but he loved it. This time, his hands moved to her face, he had missed this so much, but not as much as he missed Dyas herself. The way they just fit back together it felt like he had never left.

Only when the moment had firmly be planted into memory did Dyas finally pulled away, smiling gently. She was reminded of their first kiss, when she had kissed and then ran for dear life. The female reached up to her chest to touch it before then touching Azures, looking up at him. Certainly she could just say 'i love you' now with her puppeteer power. But that was one of the reasons why she loved Azure...he didn't care that she didn't have much to say. He loved her for her personality.
