The sun was lower in the sky, casting dark shadows and relief from the blaring sun. The second in command sat atop a rock on the edge of the pride, peering over the flat ground. It had been quite, but he wasn't complaining. He had a little time to relax, now, and he was taking advantage of it. Devon folded his paws and set his head atop it, the rock beneath him rumbling gently. It was a quiet time in the pride, where things were just starting up and he didn't have too many responsibilities. To say the least, it was nice.

Willow walked through the shady areas of a field, doing her best to avoid the sun's rays. Finally the heat of the day was lessening as it grew closer to the time the moon replaced the sun. The cool damp grass felt good under her ragged feet. She hoped nobody would see her, her burns having made her self conscious. Finally a long way back she'd put a shirt on.
Now she simply wandered, relaxed for once.

The presence of another came into notice and Devon turned his head towards the lioness who walked through the grass. He arched a brow and looked her over inquisitively, curious at her appearance. Still... He stood, the rock melting back into the earth below him and made his way casually to the lioness, his head tall. "You know you're on pride lands, lioness?" His tone was cold and chilling, his ears pinned back and his claws kneading against the dirt.

As another approuched her, Willow lifted her head to look at whoever it was. She braced herself for any talk of her appearance, and noted the warning signs of unsheathed claws and pinned ears. She offered no sign of fear, instead she held her head high and spoke calmly. "I did not. I am simply passing through while the sun is not as hot."
