Today I needed a break from all the standardized testing, so when I got home from school I spun some Thelonious Monk records and killed an afternoon imnprovising over them with my trumpet, which really relieved all the stress from school, and it was a blast.
Just wondering if anybody else has had Jazz as a saving grace in troubled times.

If i ever feel low, I just put on some Mingus, Gordon Goodwin or some other Big Band jazz and I listen until I smile (Normaly takes about 5 seconds)
then I just keep listening... for hours...

Yes. In fact, if I'm in a really bad mood, I put on a song called the "Good Times", which my jazz band from last year recorded...
But also a lot of other music.
