Mare colored by lilwere

It was a bright morning for a little white seathi girl as she woke up from her slumber. Rays of sunlight filtered through the shallow water and touched her coral home, making every color in the spectrum visible. It was a perfect day for exploring! The seathi smiled and wiggled her fins with glee! She then did a somersault in the warm water and scooted off toward the beach. This young girl was an orphan and had to care for herself ever since she was a foal. Many of the other seathis thought she was "different" so wanted nothing to do with her.

Unlike the others, this girl was very interested in the land dwelling soquili that she would see on the bank of the shallow lagoon where she lived. Many times she had tried to get their attention but she then became afraid of the large animals so hid. The other seathis of the coral reef scolded her whenever she talked about the land soquili.

Ever since she could remember, seathis kept to their own kind and were forbidden to make friends with other kinds. This lil girl even remembered her mother warning to never speak to another non-seathi. She couldn't even talk to the fish that swirled around her home without a harsh look from another seathi nearby. She didn't care! It wasn't right to not be friends with someone just because they were not your own kind. This seathi considered those other seathis as ignorant and felt better off without them!

As she swam away from the safety of the coral reef towards the beach, several older seathis called out to her in warning to stay close by. She didn't listen and continued to swim until her body became trapped on the sand after a wave pushed her.

With her tiny fins, she tried to get back into the water but it was way too shallow when the waves came. They seemed to push her farther on shore.

Someone was coming so she closed her eyes tightly and wished she had listened to the other seathis and not swam away from her home.

RP that you/and or your soquili find this lil girl. What do you do to earn her trust? You can RP that you are her and give her a name too.

User ImagePrompt #2
leopard snake fish foal colored by SiSi
"Daddy! Noooo!!" a spotted seathi foal cried out as the strong waves pushed him away from his home in the most colorful part of the coral reef.

It was a violent storm so all seathi were warned to hold on to the coral as tight as they could with their tails and to seek shelter in the deeper parts. This lil boy was born a runt so wasn't as strong as his brothers to hold on the reef tight enough with his curly monkey-like tail. His father was carrying babies so was not able to swim against the current so he could safely bring back his son.

The water thrashed the poor boy around until he was sick to his stomach and his throat was coarse from screaming. It was too much for him to take so he blacked out.

Floods of sunshine creeped into his lids and forced them open. As the runt boy looked at his surroundings he could see he was in a unknown place. No one else was around and there wasn't even any vegetation. Then he recalled his father telling him about an uncle that got trapped in a horrible place called a 'tide pool'.

He remembered his father's story about how the uncle escaped by jumping out and using his fins to get back to sea. The problem was that this boy's fins were too tiny and not strong enough so he knew that would be an impossible feat.

"Oh no! I guess I'm stuck here for good. I hope a winged beast doesn't eat me. My short life is already over!" he cried and then huddled into a ball at the bottom of the pool.

It was a fairly shallow pool that was three feet in radius. Slowly, the sun began to vaporize the water until the pool was now just two feet. The young boy was shivering at the bottom of the pool until a dark shadow appeared over. He looked up and saw....

RP that you and/or your soquili find the boy. How do you help him and earn his trust? Please note that seathi are told to stay away from other kinds so this won't be easy. You can RP that you are him and give him a name too!

Prompt #2
Name: Kaliskanny
Seathi Name: Haki-Miko
Response:

Haki-Miko looked up at the shadow over head, shaking in fear. He blinked, trying to see what it was...desperately hoping it was not a predator.

Icarus looked down in the tidal pool, searching for a shell of some sort to give his son at their next visit. He was sure the storm had brought in something interesting to show to Tooki. Let's see, there was pebbles, sea glass, ordinary shells, a weird little pony fish, a few other shells....wait...

"A pony, here?" Icarus leaned down for a closer look into the pool, his violet eyes growing wider. Could it talk, he wondered. "H..hello?"

Haki-Miko ducked down further into the water, trying to hide behind one of the rocks in the pool. He peeked out, his large blue eyes trying to take in this situation. It was a soquili, but...it had fins. He scooted out and looked up, "Are you going to eat me?"

Icarus blinked, then laughed. He shook his head, "No, no...little one. I don't eat other soquili. I don't even eat fish."

Okay...so I'm not going to be eaten, Haki-Miko thought, looking around. He looked back up at the stallion looming over him. "I have to get back to the ocean...to my daddy."

"Your daddy? You're a little, little one, huh?" Icarus stood up and looked around. He looked down at the seathi, "I'm not sure how to get you from this pool to the sea. I don't want to hurt you with my teeth trying to pick you up..."

Haki-Miko thought he might cry, sniffling and kicking at the pebbles with his hooves. He wriggled his tail, latching hold of the nearest driftwood in the pool for comfort. "H-how am I gonna get home then?"

Icarus tilted his head, leaning down to look at the seathi's tail. "Can you hold on to things with that?"

"With what? My tail?" Haki-Miko looked down at his tail, pulling his hooves up to his belly. "I'm not that strong, but...yes?"

Icarus grinned, pulling his own tail around and dipping it carefully into the tidal pool. "Here, see if you can grab on. I can pull you with my fin to the water, then you won't fall off."

Haki-Miko shook his head, "N-no...you're trying to trick me."

"Oh, no, little one...no. I have a child of my own," Icarus told him, lying his tail flat in the pool. "I can sympathize with your father, he must be very worried for you."

The little foal's lip quivered, considering that thought. His daddy must be very scared. He slipped through the water, closer to the tail. He laid against the fin, wrapping his tail around the larger tail. He was scared, but couldn't see any other way out of the pool. "O...okay..."

Icarus made sure the little foal was holding on, then pulled his tail carefully out of the water. He made sure not to whip it out fast, so he wouldn't throw the seathi. He made his way to the water, looking back to make sure he didn't lose his passenger. He slipped into the water, pulling his tail around to look at Haki-Miko. "Alright...now you're back in the sea. Do you need help getting home, little one?"

Haki-Miko was trying hard not to cry. He was still afraid of this large soquili, but he didn't know what else to do. He had no idea where the coral reef was. He nodded slowly, "Yes...please..."

The stallion pulled his tail up close to his mane, "Here, might be easier to hold on to my mane...then you can tell me if we're close..."

The foal had to admit, it did make sense. He swam over and clung to the mane, finding it to be easy to hold...like dark purple kelp. He held on, thankful that at least it was a kelpi who had found him. He was still afraid that he'd never get home or see his dad, but after a few hours the fears evaporated. Just off to the distance he could see the coral reef...his home....

Prompt: #1
Username: FlamingStar-Sama
Seathi Name: Momo
Response:
Eyes closed tight. Momo didn't know what was coming her way, nor did she want to find out. She may have been very interesting in the land goers.. But she didn't know what to expect from them. After all, they were much different from her. Keeping very still, she heard the sandy footsteps stop. Was it gone.. Or- Then, a somewhat wet nose began sniffing at her like a dog. She tried to keep in the yelling in her mind. But she couldn't take it anymore! She didn't want to be EATEN! So, she yelled with all her might! As loud as her little Seathi lungs could! And with that, another yell emerged! She opened her eyes slightly. Her yelling stopped, but whatever it was that had found her, hadn't.

What stood before her was a very large Soquili. The closest she had ever been to one. But he was very beautiful, white and silver, with gold markings and wings! He look just like buried treasure.. She looked at him in awe as he continued to scream like a child. That didn't last long, however. She snapped out of it, realizing only one thing. How did she know he wasn't going to eat her? Even though he was still yelling long after she had stopped. He was still not to be trusted!

"Hey! Stop shouting over there!" She spoke out, as she wheezed for air or more like water...

Ame finally stopped and looked at the poor fragile creature. He had never seen a Soquili like Momo before. He had been to the ocean plenty of times. But this was a definite new find. He just stared at her oddly, trying to figure things out. And Ame being a bit slow, this might take a while. So, poor little Momo better speak up. Before her last breath was in hauled. As Ame still tried to figure her out, Momo began to wiggle intensely. Trying to snap the stallion out of his thought. Even if he was going to eat her, she could at least try to trick him into helping her back into the water. And her wiggling worked! Ame snapped out of his thought paying complete attention at the crazy wiggling Seathi.

"OHMAHGAWD! What's wrong?" He asked, quite concerned.
"If - You - Don't - Put - Me - Back - In - The - Water... I - Will - Die.." She huffed after every word.

Ame's eyes widened! He'd be traumatized for the rest of his life if she died! So, with no hesitation, he gentle pushed her back into the ocean. Smiling as she made her way in. Now she wouldn't die! But Momo had other plans. She didn't hesitate to scurry off back to the reef. She didn't even say thank you to the stallion.. How very nice of her. As she got further away from the shore, she couldn't help but feel horrible. She stopped, and made her way to the top of the water. All she could see was a very sad stallion. Maybe it was because she didn't say thank you, or maybe because he didn't know she was alive or not. Either way, she couldn't help but make her way back. Her head floated a top the water for a while. With the stallion not noticing her, she thought she'd say something. Seeing treasure so beautiful was just wrong..

"So, what's your name?" She asked.
Surprisingly, Ame heard her. And his frown completely made a 180. "You're back!"
"Yeah, I guess I am." She smiled.

The day was surely a good one~

Prompt #2
Name: seababy250 (Talulah)
Response:

Talulah stood over the exotic looking soquili with a mixture of nervous concern and curiosity. She had been out clam hunting that morning when a pitiful bleating sound caught her attention, driving her to search for the source among the tide pools. She looked now upon the small creature, knowing straight away that it was one of the precious soquili, no matter its strange yet beautiful appearance. And so tiny! Talulah thought that it was the cutest thing she had ever seen. However, he looked out of his element in the little tide pool.

The soquili startled by Talulah’s appearance began thrashing about in the tide pool, reducing the low water level even further. “Shh. Do not be afraid, little one.” Talulah spoke in hushed tones, hoping the calm his fear. She hunkered down until she was finally lying comfortably on her stomach so that she could look at the soquili face to face. The soquili calmed slightly and now watched Talulah warily, though she could see a glint of interest in his young eyes. “Do not be afraid,” she said again. She stretched her hand out in an effort to touch him, but pulled back as he snapped at her fingers; she could tell though that such a bite probably would not do much damage.

Talulah tried again, this time positioning her palm so that the soquili could sniff it. The baby boy snorted and bobbed his head, causing the water to splash out of the pool again. She put her fingers gently on the soquili’s head and stroked behind his ears and down his neck. The young soquili’s head was arced over slightly, allowing the contact. In fact, he seemed to be enjoying it, obviously never have been petted before. “I will not hurt you. I'm sure you wish to go back to your family,” Talulah said tenderly, a soft smile playing at her lips.

Talulah slowly moved into a crouching position. “There now.” She gathered the foal into her arms with minimal struggle and stood up. As soon as the soquili had a different vantage point, he looked about him in awe at the environment he had never witnessed before. Talulah left him to his observations, and concentrated on getting down to the water below the tide pools. Though the soquili fit snugly in the palms of Talulah hands, carrying him made it difficult for her to maneuver the slippery rocks. She made it however and slipped the foal into the water. Back in his natural environment, the soquili cheerfully swam in circles. Talulah crouched by the water’s edge as he resurfaced and patted him on the head one more time. “You are Bidziil, for you will be strong someday,” Talulah dubbed him fondly. Bidziil bobbed his head and turned to swim back to the reef.

----

Talulah came a few days later, the encounter never far from her mind, and heard a delighted cry coming up from the water.

Prompt #2
Name: Lilly_Foxx
Seathi's Name: Udadhi (Sanksirt for Ocean)
Response:

Udadhi clamped his electric blue eyes closed and cringed. “I-I’m poisonous! I-I-If you eat me you’ll die!” He lied, both his voice and body trembling with fright.

A deeper pair of blue eyes settled on the speckled colt. “Lan’ sakes, love.” The skunk coloured Usdia soothed. “I eat grass.” She told him and she leaned her neck over the rocks to nuzzle him.

At her touch he squirmed away, eyes wide, fins flared, and tried to make himself appear far bigger than he really was. “D-Don’t you lie to me you…you…you…four legged…thingy!” He snapped. “You just want me to trust you so you can try to eat me!” He added seriously.

Flower bit back a chuckle as she backed up a few paces. “Well, now…don’t meat-eaters have pointy teeth?” She asked lofting a brow.

The foal scowled. “I guess so…” He growled.

The mare smiled softly. “Look at mine.” She told him before opening her mouth wide.

Udadhi glanced over to her. “And?” He asked with a snort.

Flower chuckled. “Mine are as flat as a leaf.” She told him, stating the obvious.

The little male didn’t seem impressed in the least. “My father told me to never trust a land…thingy.”

The mare nodded and sighed softly. “Well, be that as it may, you seem stuck in that tide pool. The water’s low as-is and you need it to say alive, don’t you?” She asked.

He nodded.

”Well then, the way I see it you have two choices…one, sit here and pout until the water dries up or something mean finds you…or, let me help you back into the water.” Flower suggested.

The colt opened his mouth to say something but clamped it closed, scrunching his face up into a stubborn scowl. “Go away!” He snapped.

“Fine…” She said before starting to walk away.

Udadhi relaxed a little and slouched down into what was left of the briny water and sighed softly, his eyes downcast.

The Usdia looked over her shoulder and smiled to herself. “Poor, sweet, child.” She whispered to herself before she ran over to him and flipped him up and over the edge of the tide pool and into the water.

His legs flailed as he let out a startled cry. A few seconds later he found himself back in the shallows of the ocean. “Hey! Why’d you go and do that for?” He yelled to her.

Flower was a bit wet but had a pleasant smile on her face. “To show you I won’t hurt you.” She said simply. “You’re back in the ocean, after all.”

He looked around. “Oh…well I guess I am.” He said, blinking. After a few moments his ears went back and he looked ashamed. “I-I’m sorry I yelled at you and…called you a ‘thingy’.” He said. “I’m Udadhi.”

The mare beamed. “Good to meet you, I’m Flower…and I’m a Usdia.”

Udadhi nodded. “I’m a Seathi.” He paused. “And…thank-you.”

”You’re quite welcome, dearie.” She called to him as he swam home.

Prompt #1
Username: hanging gallow
Seathi Name: Taini
Response: ((good luck everyone <3))

Despite the bright orb that hung in the sky glaring into her eyes, Taini remained motionless as she could feel the ground shake under her body. It was frightening not having the pressure of the water around her body like a security blanket, and even worse the air was thin, lacking consistence, she couldn’t keep gasping at something that she couldn’t feel fill her lungs and give her oxygen. The wiggling ground underneath her body stopped and Taini closed her eyes in fear.

Please don’t hurt me, please don’t eat me, please at least don’t step on me, the small seathi mare thought as she tried to scuttle her small body closer to the cool lapping waves that now barely reached the edge of her finned tail. She could feel a warm breath race across the nape of her neck to the tip of her ears, she tightened her eyes even more and tried to squirm closer to water before freezing, a soft voice spoke close to her ears.

“Please little one do not be afraid, if you’re in trouble I will help you please let me help you.”

Taini opened her eyes to see the face of an oaken mare standing over her body, she had long locks of ebony colored mane and a soft appearance on her face, a petty whimper escaped from the seathi’s lips before she gasped in a hoarse whisper, “water… in water.”

The mare gave Taini a small nod before giving shifting her broad body around the seathi and giving her body a small nudge towards the water. The chilling waves started to lick up her body as the she could feel the sand dappening underneath her the mare continued to push her body back into sea where she should have been instead of stuck on dry.

What seemed like hours to Taini only took but a few minutes of the mare’s time before the sea now lurched its way around the knees of the tall creature that had carried her back to the sea. Taking in the sweeten breath of deep air she could finally breath again and for the first time was never more happier to see her old home as she darted through the edges of her coral home. Stopping and taking in a deep breath of fresh sea water she belted at the top of her lung.

“You see that! You see! A land dwelling soquili saved me! Saved me!” Giving another summersault in the beautiful colored water she skittered back to the mare.

“Thank you for saving me Miss.. misss..” she realized that she didn’t even know the name of her own savior, she could feel the blood rush to her cheeks staining its red for not being as curtsey to have asked her.

“My name is Alona, and I am more than welcome to help you out whenever you need,” the kindhearted mare replied as she gave a small bow to the seathi.

“That’s great! Alona! My name is Taini!”

Prompt #2
Name: Wyntre IceBlade
Seathi's Name: Scara
Response((good luck to all those trying <3)): **I really had a hard time cutting this down...but ^^ hopefully it still reads nicely**

Ama had, had a long day so far and the sight of water was very inviting. As she trotted up to the small pool she noticed something trembling near the bottom. Tilting her head she could see it a bit clearer it was a small usida looking thing. Peering closer she could see that it was not a usida at all, it looked more like a very small mer-foal. She had seen one once, when Wyntre was given one to look after. But this was the first time she saw one up close. Smiling and gently saying, "Hello little one.”

Scara the young seathi's trembles became more violent when he realized that the huge beast was stopping there. He heard the stories, large beast ate his kind...they weren't to be trusted...how could he ever make it home with animals such as this roaming around. He heard the beast's voice, it was soft and singsongish like his mothers, but he still trembled in fear, it could be a trap.

Ama could see the foal's trembling and wondered if he was scared. “Oh...please don't be frightened of me...I just came over to get a drink of water...I wont harm you in any way...but...” she thought for a moment as she felt the hot sun dance upon her back, “but...if you stay here you might dry up...”

Scara, winced was she telling the truth about drying up? He thought that the pool did look a bit smaller. But what could he do? Risk coming up and seeing this beast eat him or perhaps her promise not to hurt him was true. He pondered a bit more as he looked up at her. She didn't seem bad...but then again neither did the others that came and took away others in his herd.

Ama watched, he was going to need to trust her if she would be able to help him. But, his fear could hinder that. Trotting around the small pool she finally laid down beside it hoping that a little bit of shade would stop the evaporation. Speaking softly and quietly she tried to gain the small foal's trust. “I know...I'm probably very scary. But I promise I wont hurt you...I know a small reef that would be perfect...lots of coral to hide in, pretty shells to collect.” She trailed on.

Scara watched the odd behavior of this beast. Maybe she didn't like getting wet...that would be why she wanted him to come up to her. Or maybe she really did want to help. As he listened to her words he could feel the air in the water getting less and less. The pool was drying up and he had a choice. Every thought in his body told him dying slowly was better then being a meal but he finally popped his head out of the water, and in a small timid voice “...you could take me there?”

Ama smiled and nodded, she had gotten through to him in time.

Prompt #1
Username: Novablu
Name: Syri
Response:

The pounding of hooves on the sand sounded like a hammer to the young mare. Syri flattened her ears, trying to focus on something else -- anything else! Fear lapped at her throat, making her heart race in her tiny chest. Why had she come so close? Why hadn't she listened?

Oh, but she wanted that treasure...

Her green eyes focused on the gold the strange Otherling wore. It hung draped around her neck, glimmering in the sunlight. The Strange One's thick crimson mane was wrapped in the treasure. The gold gleamed warmly and Syri squealed a soft squeal. She wanted to touch it. She had to have it...

"Hello there."

Syri's head jerked up, the voice pulling her from her daze. She was so enthralled in watching the Strange One's treasures that she didn't realize that the other mare had taken to watching her as well.

"Wh-What do you want?" Syri snarled. "What are you?"

The mare smiled, the cool ice around her heart melted temporarily at the innocence of the Seathi mare. "Want?" Her head tilted to one side. "I want nothing. I am what they call a Soquili. I'm an Angeni. And what are -you-?"

Syri bared her teeth. "I'm a Seathi. They say you're bad."

"I could be."

"I think you're bad," she said, then turned her back on the Strange One, dipping back into the surf.

But the ocean had another idea. It swung her to the left, to the thick, spiky coral that sprung up from the surface. Syri's tail ripped against it. Red blood clouded the water and immediately the wound began to throb.

Quickly, the Seathi squirmed towards the sand once more. Her eyes were filled with pain, even as she lifted her jaw to look at the Angeni only yards away. She gazed down at her wound, touching it tenderly with a hoof, then flopped her head onto the earth. The waves lapped over her, keeping her wet and slick. "A-Am I going to die?"

The Angeni dropped her muzzle to check the scratch. Syri flinched. There was the Strange One, sniffing her tail. She wanted to bristle, to n**, to flail. But she made herself lay still. She looked up at the motherly mare. "Who...are you?" But the mare didn't reply.

Out of the corner of her eye, something flickered in the sea. Syri lifted her head just as the red-pelted Angeni lunged into the water, her cloven hooves parading down onto the shimmer in the depths. Her wings flapped wildly as she stomped. Then her body stilled, muscles relaxing. She dipped her muzzle into the water, throwing a small shark onto the beach.

Syri's eyes widened. The shark... It had been drawn by her blood. It had been after -her-! The Strange One had saved her...

"They call me Aleksei. Protector of the Innocent."

Syri smiled.

And you'd be glad to know that the luckiest Seathi went home with a gleaming gold cuff around one of her legs. Her treasure...

Prompt #1
Name: Lita Rutherford
Seathi's Name: Milan (it sounded cute for her)
Response:

“That’s it Glow, we’re almost there!”

The tiny Seathi wiggled a bit, trying to hide in the sand. The voice and pounding vibrations got louder and stronger. And then…she couldn’t feel the warm sun on her or hear anything anymore. Oh no! She was dead! Dead for sure! A tiny whimper escaped her mouth before something large bumped against her. Carefully she opened an eye.

Glow Heart smiled at the tiny creature curled up on the beach. “Hello little one.” She said softly. “I’ve never seen anything like you before.” Turning she watched Lita move to the water’s edge with the water tight basket they had brought. “Did we frighten you?” She asked.

“Is it alive Glow?” Lita asked, moving back over and setting the basket down beside the Seathi. “Aren’t you the cutest thing. But what in the world are you?” She inspected the white and black sea horse like creature.

The Seathi blinked and looked at the two legger and large Soquili. “I’m a Seathi, what are you?” She asked, her voice high pitch and squeaky due to fright. “A…are you gonna eat me?” She questioned, recalling some stories the ignorant Seathi back home used to tell her.

“Why no, child, of course not” Glow answered. “I’m a Soquili. And my name is Glow Heart, but you may call me Glow if you wish. Did you get stranded all alone?” A tiny nod. “well then if you don’t mind, Lita and I would like to take you home with us. It’s a little far from here but we want to make sure your ok. See, we have a nice basket all set and we will make you a pretty home when we get back to the teepee. Then, when your sure your ok, we’ll bring you back and you can go tell your friends what an adventure you had!” She giggled, smiling happily.

Adventure. They’d never talk to her again. Especially now that she had spoken to a land dweller. Squaring her tiny shoulders she looked at the two legger and the Soquili. “Take me with you!” her little voice was filled with determination. “I wanna see more of this…land dweller’s world.”

With another nod from Glow, Lita lifted the little cat sized Seathi and set her in the basket. “There we go. Now, don’t freak out. I’m gonna put this lid on for a moment, ok?” Laughing softly at the little nod she placed a lid over the basket and moved back to glow. Getting on she pulled the basket up by the strings attached. “Alright, lets go Glow.” She said as she removed the lid so the little Seathi could see.

Bright green eyes peeked out as she watched them move away from her home. She laughed and stuck her tongue out at them. “HA! Take that!” She grinned at Glow, who turned to smile at her. “Oh! I forgot! My names Milan.” She smiled.

“Well Milan…welcome to the land.” Glow smiled as they headed home.

Prompt #1
Name: Kirowyn Love
Seathi: Siroče
Response: (Naoki is played as a foal here)

Prancing down the sandy shore, Naoki's eyes were in constant motion, taking in all of the sites. There were shells, rocks, waves... there were new scents in the air and it even felt different. As much prancing as he did, he also did as much pausing... splashing in the ocean here, tasting a pretty rock there; the beach was an amazing place. As he made his way further down the shore, he spotted one of the oddest and biggest shells he had ever seen - he just knew it would have an interesting taste! He trotted up to the pretty black and white shell and bent down with his tongue ready to lick.

Siroče squinted one eye open to check what was going on as she felt the stranger approach. Oh no! She thought as she saw a mouth open with its tongue heading in her direction. "Please, don't eat me!" Siroče never thought that the advice her mother had given her so long ago might have some merit. She started to cry, thinking that these last few precious moments might be her last.

"Yrlahh! A talking shell!!" Naoki quickly backed away from the monster. When nothing else happened, he cautiously took a few steps forward - wary but curious. As he got closer, he heard crying noises. "Oh... what's wrong little monster shell? I promise I won't eat you!"

Siroče slowly opened her eyes, the concern in the creature's voice stopping her tears for the moment. She could feel the sun beating down on her, and she knew she needed to get back to the water. Circumstance had come to this, and to put it simply - she needed him. "Um, I'm stuck on the sand." She wiggled her body to demonstrate, feeling completely vulnerable. "I need to get back to the water, where I live."

"Oh, sure! So you must be like, some kind of fish!" Naoki said, smiling brightly. He had no idea what the heck this thing was, but if it needed his help, he would give it. It's not like it had claws or giant teeth or anything... he started to nudge her closer to the water with his muzzle while he introduced himself. "I'm Naoki by the way, nice to meet you!"

She looked up with her bright green eyes and knew looking into his that the others were wrong. There was nothing but concern in on his face, and he hadn't even hesitated at her request for help. "Yes, something like that.” She said, laughing a little. “I'm Siroče, it's nice to meet you too. If I hadn't met you, I don't know what I would have done!" Water then surrounded her body - she was safe! "Thank you Naoki, I hope we meet again some day! Goodbye!" She said as she slipped back into the water.

"Okay, Bye then!" Naoki was sad to see the strange creature leave; he had so many questions for her! But he was sure if he visited the beach more he would meet her again.

Moire Frost

PostPosted: Mon Mar 16, 2009 11:44 pm

Prompt #1
Name: Moire Frost.
Seathi Name: Dee [after Dee Plume… I thought I’d name her after a great rock star xD]
Soquili Included: Liebe.
Response:

Dee lay on the soft beach, her eyes averted from the sun above and her fins spread wide. It was hopeless. The waves crashing against the shore were too weak to pull her back, and her fins were already tired and sore from her journey. She would just have to rest here a while…

Suddenly, Dee felt something hard poking at her ribs. She frowned, but kept her eyes closed; it was probably just a stick being swept up by the waves, or a harmless little crab or something. But the poking persisted, and finally, frustrated, Dee’s eyes flew open. She was taken aback by what she saw; a large shape blocked out the sun, and as it brought its head closer to Dee’s, a gasp escaped her. It was a land-dweller! Terrified, Dee sunk back into the sand. It was going to eat her!

“Well, hi, there!” the creature laughed, in a soft and gentle voice. Its face came into view; large emerald eyes framed with dark lashes and a soft, grey pelt. Nothing all too menacing… just unfamiliar.

“What’re you doing, all the way up here?” the creature asked cheerfully, tucking its large-- gulp-- wings against its sides and backing up a bit, prancing around Dee and whipping its hair in the wind.

Land-dwellers are so… weird… Dee thought to herself. “I got stuck,” she said aloud, her voice shaky and unsure.

“Stuck?” the creature cried, coming extremely close to Dee’s face and hunkering down in the sand. “How’d you get stuck?” Dee explained her story, slowly and with many pauses, while the creature listened and watched, her eyes wide and nearly unblinking. When Dee finished, she looked up into the land-dweller’s eyes sheepishly.

“Well,” the land-dweller began, staring off into space for a moment. Finally, she continued, “Well… Dee, isn’t it?… Dee, I think I can help you. My name’s Liebe, and I’m an expert at this sort of thing.” Liebe stood up proudly, ruffled her wings a bit, and grinned from ear to ear. “I’m going to kick you back in.” Dee tilted her head to one side a bit.

“I don’t think that’s the best idea,” she said slowly, her voice light and airy. “You could hurt me. And plus, can you swim?” She hadn’t quite worked it through her mind that Liebe might not come with her; she had the full intention of bringing her back home and showing everyone that she was safe.

“Just a little nudge,” Liebe assured her. “I don’t think I can swim,” she said after a moment. Then, she got a little more chipper. “But you should come up and visit again soon! I get really bored up here, and I’d love to introduce you to my friends!” Dee laughed and nodded her head.

“Sounds like a plan,” she agreed. “Now, nudge me in.” Liebe took her fore hoof and, gently, nudged Dee’s ribs, sending her into the coming tide and back home.

Prompt #2
Name: ~Spazzy_the_Wolfie~
Seathi Name: Samebito
Response:

Oh no! What in the ocean’s name would he do?! Samebito let out a small nicker from his huddled up place at the bottom of the tide pool he had been stuck in for what seemed like forever, his speckled body quivering constantly from the cold. “There’s no way I can get out.. I’m going to die and.. And.. I’m not gonna see anyone again!” He muttered softly to himself, his mouth’s motions causing a few bubbles to rise and make their way up to the surface of the water. His eyes half-lidded at the thought, tears forming at the corners of his eyes for a moment before they released themselves into the surrounding salt water. He was just destined to lie there and await his dea-

“What on earth?” A blue pelted colt gave a curious tilt of his head from his spot, standing above the tide pool, intently staring down at the water with equally blue eyes. Soliel let out a surprised outcry at the arrival of a flurry of bubbles to the surface, whipping his head back and taking a few steps away from the pool. Flicking his ears back and approaching the water, he peeked over.

“..U-urk!” The Seathi foal’s teary eyes flicked back open fully at the odd sound that had come from above, Samebito giving a few blinks to clear his eyes before peering up at the surface. It was a… very blurry looking . “Daddy never told me about this ‘fore..” With a soft huff, he hunkered himself down, not wanting to have anything to do with any strange creatures that might be dangerous.

Something colorful and spiffy had caught his eye! A shell?.. Perhaps it was even some long forgotten treasure! “I’m sure that mother would like this.. Mm… Thing as a present.” He said to himself, ears perking back up in their normal positions absentmindedly as his fearful expression turned into a smirk. Without another word, the colt sucked in a breath and dunked his head into the water. He almost lost his breath as his muzzle bumped against the small form of an aquatic creature, one that looked.. Odd. Glancing around and spying no one around, he gave a light motion of his head. 'Come!' He just couldn’t let this kid be all alone now, could he?

A small, timid smile came over his face at the Soquili’s head near him, Samebito eagerly giving a wag of his monkey curled tail before clutching at the colt’s neck. “I’m Samebito.. Thank you, strange thing!” He said with a bob of his head as they popped out of the water, he perking up at the sight of a larger pool of water with an apparent path leading out to the larger ocean. “I’ll be back. Wait for me, strange one!” A squirm and a plop lead him into his new home with a splash. He’d have to thank this guy later. Bigwater was calling him.. Now! A delighted whinny chimed out happily.

Edit: [[Whoops! -Forgot to add Soliel's pic- Here you go~ X'3]]

Prompt #1
Name: Kaisanti
Seathi Name: (to come) - I only have a half hour online and don't want to just pick a random one. If I win I'll look into a proper name for her. <3
Soquili Included: Sachiko & her hawk familiar Sekkou
Response:

The rush of the wave over the sand filled her ears with a great hissing, the undertow tugged her tiny frame down a beach a short way, giving the female hope, only to have the next wave crash up against her, driving her back, and further beyond where she had previously been stuck. The ocean had turned and the tide was coming in.. each wave pushing the tiny white seathi female before it. The near-constant roar of the rushing water was suddenly drowned out by a high-pitched shriek the likes of which she had never heard before. Her own fritghened cry escaped as she snapper her eyes open, green gaze widening impossibly before shutting tight as something huge and black plunged into the sand right next to her head.

"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Frantically wiggling to get away she whinneyed in terror as the huge, fearsom black thing stabbed down once again. Above the viscious spire two huge beedy eyes rolled to stare down at her, the great body of the seagull behind. Massive wings flaired, casting a dark shadow right over the tiny seathi. The bird reared its head back for another strike, the tiny female screwed her eyes shut, knowing her life was forfit. But suddenly the gull screaked a new, a sound altogether more painfulled than angry as a puff of feathers exploded from its back.

A second shadow fell over preditor and prey, that of a far larger and far more dangerous bird. The hawk wheeled high above and plunged down, talons outstreatched, aimed for the fluffy white back of the gull. With sudden realisation of its own peril the seagull scrieked madly, an ear-splitting sound, before fleeing in panic, running ungainly across the sand until its frantically beating wings lifted it into the air. The hawk shot after it for a brief moment but then swooped round, gliding down to where the tiny seathi female lay shaking in fear. Seeing the new bird decend towards her she let out a gasping sob and shut her eyes. To be fought over as food by birds... what an undignified ending to her life..

Yet the crushing pain of the stabbing beak never came and slowly, carefully, she cracked an eye open, peeking up at the shadowy head above her. One round eye stared down at her, the bird's head cocked almost commicaly to one side. After a moment it looked back over its shoulder, then took a hopping step and launched itself into the air, fluttering up to land on the slim pale rump of a full sized soquili. Fear gripped the white seathi once more, making her heart pound and her chest heave, tiny forlegs scrambled desperatly at the sand.

Oh god! To escape a seagull only to be eaten by a LandDweller..

The dark-tipped muzzle decended above her, making the trembling seathi shut her eyes tight once again, but then the oddest thing happened.. warmth blew softly over her shaking body, prompting her to carefully, nervously, open one eye and risk a peek up... into the black cavern of the landdweller's nose as the mare sniffed curiously at the tiny pale form.

"My my... a seathi?" The soft, gentle voice of the soquili mare murmured, as if speaking to herself. The hawk sat on her back called shortly, ruffled its wings and settled to staring at the tiny female, its gaze unblinking as was the bird's way. The tall light-coloured mare stepped forwards, her massive body shadowing the tiny seathi as she sniffed at the lapping waves. Soddenly the pale girl felt the softest of touches against her back as the underside of the soquili mare's chin brushed against her. Twisting her head round he struggled to see what the stranger was up to and her gree eyes widened impossibly as she saw the slim muzzle of the mare dig into the wet sand and plough a pathway back into the sea.

The mare lifted her head, snorting the sand from her muzzle, waterdroplets dotting the sand around the tiny seathi's body. Then, under the watchful amber eyes of the soquili, the tiny pale creature wiggled round and shot down the water-filled channel with a shriek of delight. Smiling she watched the pale form vanish into the incoming wave, lips wiggling to dislodge the ticklish sand. Just as she turned away a tiny voice, barely audible above the soft murmur of the waves called out.

"Thank you!"

Then the pale little seathi mare was gone, a leason learned and the fire of adventure firmly in her blood..

..... it would not be the last time the tiny white female spoke to a landdweller....

Prompt #1
Name: Teh Cheryl
Seathi Name: Emera (for the prompt; have to go to class so no time for a better name. D: )
Soquili Included: Imperio
Response:

Imperio stared. It didn’t look like a seashell, it had this weird things that looked like legs poking from it and his floppy stuff what kind of resembled a mane and oh my gawd it was a mini-soquili.

Imperio started to run in circle around the Seathi, unsure what to do, shaking his head frantically back and forth. “Is it dead, oh my, is it dead, is it like me but it’s ultra smaller and squishy and it only has two legs did its other legs fall off but it has fins too like a fish did someone experiment on it but what if it’s dying because I just found it by the water and a fish needs water so MAYBE I NEED TO BRING IT WATER.”

Emera peaked an eye open and tilted her head up and watched the funny land-soquili run to the water. She had been terrified as it had come toward her, hoping that it might leave her alone if she played dead. Instead, the weird land-soquili had run while talking to himself. Were all land-dwellers this odd?

Imperio darted to the edge of the water before realizing he had no way to bring the sea to the weird fish-soquili. He paused; he didn’t have a bucket, it was too far away to splash it…

Imperio grimaced. He could bring it water in his mouth but ew. But… Imperio shot a glance back at the Seathi on the beach. ‘A Soquili got to do, what a Soquili’s got to do,’ he thought dramatically. He winced as he got a mouthful of the seawater before darting back over to the Seathi, letting out a shower of seawater on the cat-sized creature.

Emera jumped an inch up, startled, as she was hit with the sudden spray of water. She had squeezed her eyes shut as she saw the odd stallion turn back. She stiffened as she realized that she had given up her hope of playing dead, instead peaking up Imperio, caution and fear in her eye. “.. Hi?” she squeaked nervously.

Imperio blinked. “… Hi, back?” he said, his voice laced with confusion. He bent his head down, eventually laying on the moist sand. “Are you alive?” he asked hopefully, nudging her back with his nose carefully.

Emera let out a small smile and tentatively giggled. The male land-dweller was amusing, she had decided, and didn’t seem dangerous. Of course, she could be wrong, but she thought she’d take a chance. “Yeah. I’m alive.”

Imperio set his head on the sand next to the Seathi’s and met her emerald green eyes. “That’s good,” he said, trying to nod, “I just saw you lying there and panicked and didn’t know what to do so I spit on you.” He paused and gave her a repentant look. “Sorry for that.”

Emera giggled again. He was so very interesting and rather cute. “That’s okay,” she said, reaching out a small hoof to pat him awkwardly on the nose. “My name’s Emera," she introduced. “What’s yours?”

Imperio glowed at the question. “I’m Imperio. Nice to meetcha.”

Prompt #2
Name: mew-neko
Seathi name:Arnavarvind
Soquili: Contessa
Response:

The little boy squirmed burrowing deeper into the water soaked sand hiding his face away hoping that this nightmare would end.

Contessa watched as the young sea-flower horse seem to fall in despair only to perked up a bit when she heard a soft whimpering and a loud stomach. With a small smile gracing her face she trotted off in search of something....

Anavarvind softly whimpered thrashed as far off thunder echoed in his head only to shoot up and look noticing the scary monster go away. Grasping again what happened to him he flopped around sinking into the quicksand and Gasping out "help" as he started to sink.

Not too far off Contessa was bringing back some watercress she found at a stream back and almost dropping it when she heard the scream and as quickly as she could in the soft soggy sand hurried in time to grasp him and lifted the little creature out, but also landing herself in the same mess.

Anavarvind cried out again as he was being lifted and looked to find the large monster lifting him out, but took his place instead.

Contessa flinged her neck hard and sent the little scamp into a safe area in the ocean seeing him flounder for a while before he looked back half expecting something to happen.

Anavarvind watched as the monster grasping out of the sink hole and slowly wriggling out and then stood on harder ground, speaking out to him, "Sorry! I lost your meal!"

To which he replied " I wouldn't have eaten it you stupid monster." unwittingly laughing and smiling at which Contessa joined in.
