( Title has nothing to do with this RP, nor are the stars melting.. enough that we can see, anyway! O O )
(This is an RP between Aeos & ...?)

( Why was it stickied? I have no idea. )

There were many times when Aeos looked up, he would be awed by the glimmering presences of light claiming to be stars. Most of the time though, the Twilif tended to see the bright blue of the sky during the day. He often felt sad enough to note that the brightness of the sun had veiled the darkness that was needed to view the twinkling beings. At the moment, however, it was night.

The sky’s dark clouds opened up to reveal a clear selection of luminous stars and the large moon that vaguely reflected the sun’s light. A new layer of snow coated the area, pulling all the creatures that normally ran through the foliage into a need to hide until the cold melted. The snow’s frost beneath his feet as he padded through the snowy landscape seemed to freeze further, fueled by the icy entity’s presence.

His temperature was sublime, tending to freeze the life out of the things and people he touched. Understanding the power he held was beyond Aeos, however. He didn’t seem to notice much about himself to be bothered by it. After all, he barely noticed the little wings on his back until he was flying about. Perhaps that was why his easygoing and absentminded nature, captured by the brilliance of the night, failed to notice the presence of a hungry wolf prowling in the shrubbery until it was too late.

Between a battle of sharp teeth and claws and Aeos with his sharp surprise, the wolf had the icy Twilif pinned against his stomach beneath its heavy paws. The Twilif's icy self lay prone, taking few fearful breaths. A few feathers lay scattered around the two from the tussle, as one of Aeos’ wings was jostled and bent, but there was no sign of blood.

Did Twilif, children of the Second Moon, even have the essence to bleed?

Locke was awake at night, despite how much he loved to sleep. Such a content state that the night wound upon him with its snowy bless, the glittering sky was just the icing on the cake. Deep violet eyes blinked up as he lay sprawled on the white blanketed ground, nibbling away on a blade of grass he'd fished out from under the ice. It was still fresh.

The wind moved the clouds through the sky high above, but it started to carry new sounds. The flutter of wings and a snarl of a contemptable beast. Through the fierce rustling beyond the bush, a young Twilif peeked out on this scene. Long hair entrailing into the twigs and leaves of the brush he inhaled sharply and set his jaw at this sight.

An angel was pinned to the ground and was going to be devoured by a wild wolf. The beast wasn't even as majestic as they should be...it just looked of mange, craze, and hunger. It's fangs were open and bared at the creature pinned helpless in the snow. This was not right.

Locke's usual timid nature was gone, and he swallowed the grass blade whole. Tiptoeing onto the scene through the brush, he waved out a fluffed hand at the beast. He was behind it, so it would not spot him as well. It was all coincidence tonight. Short fingers fanning out, the skeleton key on his forehead started to glow from a summoned deep within him. The same mark was drawn in a glowing mist with his index finger, and a moment later the beast's jaw's slammed shut.

Locked.

Unable to comprehend what had happened, the wolf began to panic. Digging it's face into the snow, terribly trying to chew at this fallen angel it had trapped. Falling over in its desperate scrabble to open it's mouth, it wriggled in the snow thrashing about beside it's prey. Quickly Locke padded over with urgency in his step. Was it still alive? What was it really anyways? Toes touching a strayed feather, he considered it for a moment with a gaze. Eyes rising to the winged creature, he identified it as a unique twilif as himself.

Aeos’ body trembled with a dull, aching fear, one that could have possibly threatened to overwrite the endless silence that had stolen his words. His back ached in a way that he was unused to; it reminded him that he had been graced with wings. What good did it do him now? Trapped beneath a hungry predator, a broken wing was hardly going to be any use to him. If only he remembered to fly…

Still, he was started to see the wolf’s jaws snap shut in a way that seemed unnatural. It whimpered above him, clawing at its closed muzzle as though there were something wrong. Was there? The icy Twilif wondered curiously, looking innocently at the predator stumbling away in raging panic. His fear faded; the sight was too odd to continue with the emotion.

Tilting his head slightly, Aeos pushed himself up from the comforting snow, icicles frozen from the snow below clinging to him. He shook himself, much like a dog to get rid of the remains of water off its body. However, the movement jostled his injured wing, pulling a high-pitched whimper from his throat. Trembling as the pain dulled again, the lantern-less Twilif looked around and shifted away from the still-panicking appearance of the wolf. Aeos appeared faintly surprised as another Twilif materialized before him like magic—or, at least, his mind said so since he had missed the ‘walking over’ part entirely.

“Hwun…” Confusion fluttered through the icy Twilif’s eyes for a moment, but a soft purr rolled out from Aeos’ throat. His head drooped slightly, tired from the bout with the wolf, who by now looked at them in panic and scrambled away through the foliage. The Twilif shifted and half-crawled forward, butting his head against the other’s with mild affection.

Locke's long azure hair was disturbed through the headbutt, but he paid no mind. His large purple eyes were reading into the other Twilif's...finding pain and bewilderment there. Feeling a whimper of concern lift in his throat for this new friend, he let it die so as not to alarm the other.

"Murr." He managed, leaning forwards and giving the opposing male a lick on the cheek to comfort him a bit. The slight fur was frosty to the touch, but Locke didn't seem to mind at all. Blinking with a reassuring smile that spread to his eyes, Locke looked the opposing being over, finding the damage to his wing. Running his fingertips over the air above the wound, he looked for and found the break in the bone there.

Nudging at his friend, he wrote in the snow with his index finger. 'Locke', it read. Along with a little doodle of a key. Pointing to himself, then the name, he proceeded to point at the wound. He could fix it for him, but didn't want to alarm him either. Waiting as snow fell a bit now, Locke wanted to make sure it was okay he still helped.

Aeos let his surprise fly over his face as the other Twilif gave him a lick against his cheek. From his solitary perspective, it was a strange gesture, but not exactly unwelcome. He warmed slightly, letting himself fall into an affectionate cuddle with the newcomer. His gaze shifted towards the Twilif’s paw that dusted the air over his injured wing; even now, he could feel the throbbing pain of the break in the bone. A soft ‘hrrr’ slid from his throat in warning, the icy Twilif did not wish to feel the inevitable sting of hurt if the darker Twilif decided to touch his wing.

The Twilif watched with wary eyes up until the other moved away. His anxious attitude faded, replaced by the same cheerful quality as before. Aeos watched curiously as the other began to write in the snow, reading the letters easily. ‘Locke’, his mind repeated slowly, testing out the syllables without letting them fall from his lips. A purr rumbled from his chest, and the icy Twilif gave a faint nod in understanding. He knew it was a name!

However, there was another gesture to his injured wing. Aeos tilted his head with a frown, understanding fading to be replaced once more with confusion. What did this strange Twilif want to do with his wing? A soft, confused murr reflecting his emotions coated the air. His icy eyes trained uncertainly on the other. Their muteness, for the first time and not likely the last, being a discomforting disability between them.

Locke felt the wind pull at his long hair that trailed in the snow, but he watched the feathers shift around the break, revealing more details to him. Entranced by this situation, he could feel the hesitation from the other twilif...but at the same time he was completely compelled to assist him. Donned with the abilities he had, it was the right thing to do, compassion aside.

Reaching out slowly so as not to alarm him, his hands hovered over the crack in the delicate bone so as not to touch it and cause more pain and damage. Slipping violet eyes shut, a deep breath was taken and held for a moment as he thought deeply. After a moment a sickening crack could be heard, as the bone in Aeos' wing snapped back within a moment, completely bonded like new.

"Murr?" Locke asked, immediately checking to see if his new friend was okay.

The Ice Twilif watched Locke warily, though his expression showed only faint curiosity. He turned his head back towards his broken wing, shifting it slightly only to have it twinge in more pain. Giving a squished whimper, Aeos looked away and tried to forget his appendages’ existence; it was difficult due to the dull throbs of discomfort it sent back at him. His attention fell back on Locke, a slow purr pausing in his throat when the other decided to reach over.

Alarm flashed in the Twilif’s eyes, and he shifted back—too late.

It seemed Locke had not even touched him, but white-hot pain still managed to sink into Aeos’ mind. The sharp crack of the bone snapping into place only seemed to heighten his mind’s belief that this strange Twilif was another predator out to eat him. He let out a wretched cry that escaped into the echoing silence of the snowy landscape around them. Seconds past and nothing happened, the throbs of hurt simply continued and dulled. Aeos opened his eyes, though he was unaware when he’d closed them, and gazed up at Locke in the fashion that only an injured animal could imitate.

Tears leaked out from the corner of his eyes, and the icy Twilif shook like a scared rabbit. Only, after a few seconds of the fading pain, Aeos thought to look back to his wing. The strange angle it had been broken into was gone; his wing was back to normal, if only with a few lot and ruffled feathers. It took another moment to piece together the puzzle, though he was still startled from his coming relief.

A shaking purr shuffled out from his chest, shifting vaguely between agreement and thanks. He wiped the tears away with the back of his hand, though more icy tears began as he pulled it away.

Flickers of worry furrowed the young twilif's brow as his lips babbled but uttered forth no sound. Dumbfounded was the word, and although tucked away in the back of his stirring mind he knew it could hurt...what he just did....he went through with it anyways. Suddenly he scared himself darkly...was he really cruel at heart? Letting that poor wolf suffer as well, he drooped visibly. Knowing the animal was run off by now, he let the lock on its bone jaw free so it could still live. To forget a thing like that....

Hands jerking away Locke sat on them in the snow, an effort to punish them while the angelic creature yowled sounds unheard by the living. Heart shot with compassion and feelings of dread, Locke let a sad sound out from deep in his throat. His own deep purple eyes simmered and fell hot tears down his fuzzed cheeks, a stark contrast to the light snowfall around them. His ears flattened as if he'd been smacked with a newspaper on his head.

Uttering out sob after sob Locke hiccuped once before knowing what to do. He'd seen the cat do this to him before...and somehow it made him feel loads better. Perhaps this would do the same.

Leaning forwards towards the now repaired wing, he hesitated as the dark spots of blood stained his flawless attire. Closing his eyes, Locke set to work wholeheartedly wanting to console this being. His little tongue emerged from between his lips, and began to lick and clean lightly the feathers in a calming soothing rhythm...one he seemed accustomed too. Starting to purr lightly in further efforts to bring tranquility to his friend, and forgiveness to himself, Locke kept at his licking regimen.

Although, the other Twilif had only good intentions in mind, Aeos couldn’t help but feel a flutter of fear when Locke drew closer. However, when he realized Locke was crying, the Icy Twilif felt a deep lingering sadness ring through his mind. They were such heart-wrenching sobs that drew a soft whimper from Aeos. His own tears rolled down his cool cheeks, crystallizing as they went. His breaths came out in soft, misty white wisps from his freezing temperature.

If Aeos felt bad about the way he had immediately placed Locke in an accusing light, it was evident now.

“Uwan…” Aeos mewled, tilting his head slightly as Locke drifted towards his previously injured wing. He shifted it a bit instinctively, wincing at the slightly pain in muscle. Though the bone had been snapped together, the muscles that had been stretched and sore due to the displacement still stung. His surprise showed as the other’s tongue flicked out against the sore, feathered flesh. Aeos felt his body jump slightly at the unexpected move, but it wasn’t exactly a painful action…

…In fact, it was extremely soothing. He wasn’t able to complain, if he could.

Aeos’ wings, like every other part of the fair Twilif’s body, were chilling, colder than that of an ice cube. However, the Icy Twilif gave a soft sigh, body drooping slightly as he relaxed into the comforting sensation of a tongue against the hurt.

Unconsciously, Aeos’ body began to rumble slightly as he released long velvet purrs and he leaned over to give the key-Twilif a gentle nuzzle. All signs of fear and distress seemed to have faded within the span of a few short moments, giving way to adoring affection brimmed with a childish trust.

Locke kept licking his little built-in-painkiller against the ruffled feathers and disturbed muscles of the icy twilifs wing. Even as he worked, gradually the muscles seemed to give in and relax with his gentle coaxing. It pleased him greatly that Locke almost seemed to enter into a trance-like state, using such repetitive motions. He didn't notice that the other twilif had moved until he was nuzzled against.

A cool chill floated over his fur and made Locke purr in return. Bumping his forehead against the icy twilif's...Locke gave him a little lick to the nose. Giggling, his purple eyes gleamed with content happiness. After another moments observation, the azure little guy noticed that his pure white friend was purring all the same! A flicker of curiosity lit through him forcing his ears to twitch.

Reaching out a small hand with stubby fingers, he placed it against the angels chest and felt his happy rumbles. Then, feeling embarrassed as to being so 'bold' he withdrew it to himself and began to lick at his fluffed wrist and mock distraction. How rude of him...but purring...

The cat he knew from back when he was 'born'...it had those lovely rumblings that he'd tried so hard to adopt himself. Feeling the warm memories wash over him, he closed his eyes contently and sat for a moment...wishing they were real again. In his thoughts, Locke's skeleton key mark began to glow softly. Uttering a content sigh, he stirred slipping his eyes open again. Met with the now familiar face of this icy enigma, Locke split his lips into a smile. Somehow, he felt in his heart he knew this creature from somewhere, and it aided him in great comfort.

Snow fell lightly about them, showing up more on Locke's dark complexion, some of the flakes even getting caught on his eyelashes. It was a dead quiet place now, with only the sound of calmed breathing.

Utopia.

The rather angelic Twilif gave an amused hum at the touch against his chest, paying it little mind. However, he blinked rather blankly for a moment, butting his head lightly against the other Twilif when the touch withdrew. After a moment, his eyes curved happily before he finally unwound from his crouch and stood up. Considering his insubstantial height, standing up proved to be rather ineffective in making him much taller.

Aeos lifted his head up, tilting it back to scan the dark sky. From the Heavens, snow drifted down in gentle waves, fluttering slowly and weightlessly until they piled the ground high with mounds of white. The Ice Twilif let his head fall back down, gaze shifting to rest upon the darker blue Twilif. His throat continued to vibrate with gentle purrs, as if attempting to will his quick affection to Locke by pure force of will.

Frowning after a moment, Aeos began to wander and pace about aimlessly through the clearing. He was carefully avoiding any movement to his wing, as it seemed the icy Twilif hyper aware that jostling it would cause him some sort of pain. The winged Twilif gave a soft hiss in irritation after a moment, seeming to not find what he was looking for.

Being a mute gave one troubles, indeed.

Dropping back into a crouch near Locke, Aeos let his hands drop into the snow before drawing them away with a curious blink. As though struck by inspiration, the little Twilif nudged and butted against Locke eagerly, trying to draw the other’s attention until it was placed fully upon himself. Slowly drawing against the snow with his short fingers, he began to write.

Aeos

With the same happy enthusiasm, the ice Twilif gestured at the snow and then at himself, puffing up his chest like a proud bird.
