Those aquamarine eyes - the ones he obtained from his mother that had once sparkled like dreams when he was younger - were now dull with age and knowledge. Not to imply, of course, that he had much experience in regards to the world around him; he had learned his information from different sources, and applied all of the teachings devotedly to himself. That, for example, everyone was alone in the long-run, the only creature he could truly trust in the vast space of life was himself. This, of course, was the main property that caused his alienation of all other Kitsusagi he happened to stumble upon when he was out on his own.
And he was out on his own quite often, nowadays. Hopping along cobblestones uninterestedly or batting butterflies away from his coat with frustration. Though he was always careful to keep his claws from harming those wings that were as fragile as rice paper.
Being painstakingly cautious was another one of those teachings.
He lazed on a rock wordlessly, the sun prodding gently at the fur of his neck as he dulled his claws on the stone beneath him. A feeble flick of his tail when some sort of unwanted insect landed upon it, and he rested his head grouchily on his paws, a scowl eating away at his usual calm features. Boring, he pinpointed. Unbearably boring.
But he supposed it was better than the alternate side of the coin. Too much excitement did cause bad health, after all.

Freedom. How long has it been since he's been out in the fresh air and open skies. The cursed mage and a few other strong beings had him restrained for month's since the little attack on the freak.
He snorted and grinned wickedly, remembering the night with fond memories. Rayne shook his head, tossing the memory aside. Now was not the time for such memories, they distract from the now.
And now, he walked around the HQ, he held his head high, and his tails swayed in a predatory manner. His lime green eyes surveyed the area, and soon spotted Giovanni lounging on a rock. He quirked a brow and padded towards the other male. He seemed normal, and not over the top with colors. So far, so good.
"you look bored"

The dark ear embellished with markings was the one to flick when he had been spoken to, his blue orbs shielded behind eyelids due to a new-found intention to sleep. He unveiled them imploringly to the sun, but his gaze was soon upon the other male. Giovanni would have preferred to say nothing, bearing in mind that no words would intensify the possibility of this stranger becoming uninterested enough to take his leave; but alas, the intruder had made quite the proper observation. And so Giovanni licked the back of his incisors and spoke, "... I'm fine, thank you." The tone was laced with annoyance that he wasn't truly experiencing; he was a bit bothered by the sudden appearance and attempt at conversation, yes, but not so much that he aspired for the other Kitsusagi's absence. Whatever he possibly had to offer to a conversation was bound to be far more interesting than swatting away the mayflies.
And so, lethargically, he lifted his head from his paws. A small tilt of it and he decided that he should likely inquire something or make some sort of vocal notation, himself.
"Why do you ask?" A lame attempt at keeping the other from retreating, and he recalled now why it was he often refrained from speaking. His voice was moth-eaten by little use in long time. His question was sensible, of course - merely a kinder way to query why Rayne would care - but was likely far too boring for the other to bother answering.
Socially awkward, he guessed. And he had been that way for a long time.

Interesting. When faced with a statement, this one replies as though it were a question. Why did Rayne always find the strange ones when he was allowed to go out and play. Nevertheless, the part of him that was his mothers influence, told him not to offend everyone who came his way.
His brown tails swayed softly, with the odd spontaneous flick. He canted his head to the side. "More of an observation, than a question. However to answer you're question, I 'ask' because i am bored as well. Very few around here are worth my time" A casual shrug followed. He wasnt so good at conversation, or coming across as anything but an a**. It was an attempt at least. His mother could appreciate that.
Crap.
He gave a frustrated sigh "I havent seen you around before, you new." Wasnt so much a question, as a guess. He also didn't really care about if Giovanni was new or not. Seriously. Didn't care.

He more than shared the other male's lack of concern with this meeting by the second observation, finding the entire ordeal rather too ignoble and repetitive for his tastes. Giovanni stared lifelessly at Rayne Vala, his paw dangling mirthlessly as he pulled his face open in the tiniest of yawns, three tails intertwining idly. He felt - quite curiously - less interested than when the other had first approached him; though, the blue-eyed male supposed, perhaps it was somewhat understandable. The first impression hadn't gone terrible... but it hadn't gone well, either.
Not to imply, of course, that this other Kitsu would care about what Giovanni thought of him. He most certainly didn't seem of the kind.
"Whatever." He sighed, lacking any other appropriate responses to a vocalization that seemed a tidbit conceited. He laid his head on his paws again, knitting his brows together with befuddlement when the other guessed that he was new, as opposed to inquiring. A moment of passing before he murmured his response, "A bit, I'd say. But what's the significance of when I arrived to this place, I wonder? Do 'fresh' Kitsu not fit your fancy?"
He sneered at his own words uncertainly. Should he be friendlier?
