Barren Wastes
Otherwise known as the Barren Waste, this dry and parched land has only the skeletons of buildings, of settlements that were attempted and failed. Nothing exists in this parched land of dry, cracked soil where no vegetation grows and very little water can be found. Unwanted children are abandoned in this harsh land and only a very small percentage makes its way back through the Virgin forest and back to Rukongai, over 99.96647 percentage of those deserted or left here survive the harsh climate as rather than supplement the soul with soul particles it verily drains one of them, essentially sucking a person dry in a manner of hours. The land spreads for miles upon miles, there are mountains visible in the distance but none yet have been able to reach them in order to view what exists beyond them.

 For a while now, he had been located amongst the vastness of the hot baked lands of the Barren Wastes. The left over photons in the air had been enough to hold the shinigami's perceptions at bay back in Karakura Town. He'd been here for quite sometime. The only reason real reason he lead them by the rope any longer was to allow Jouka and Delosuke to escape. The package Jouka had taken would be stashed away by now and everything was going according as planned. There he sat in and old dusty chair in one of the building skeletons located in an old abandoned settlement. No one would find him here amongst this deserted land. He'd stay here a little while until he spoke with the one he came here to speak with. He sat there amused by the series of events that had taken place earlier. Everything was handled so easy and smoothly.

 Akane Shiori "I'm always watching... You cannot hide your sins..."
It seemed that having cameras even where few went was useful, she'd had her computer tracking him from when he entered Seireitei, from there it recorded where he went and plotted the quickest rout, sending it to the small device on Shiori's wrist. After that she simply had to use Shunpo to get there.
"You pull an interesting little game back in Karakura"
She had an odd way of doing things, instead of hiding, or attacking, she liked to make herself known with a snarky comment or something similar, in this case it was the closest he'd get to a compliment from her. She leaned gently aganst a cracked stone wall, her long red hair, nearly the color of blood in the shadows, and her eyes, emerald green, were dangerously narrowed. Had she attacked right away she might have killed him, instead however, her zanpakuto was sheathed, despite his bitching.

Still sitting in his chair, he laid back and propped his legs on the old table with his arms crossed behind his head in a laid back fashion. Everything was quiet and peaceful here. Just before closing his eyes, he detected the presence of the fourteenth division captain within the room. She wasn't the person he came here to speak with but no matter. Without looking at her he smiled and closed his eyes anyways, showing clearly that he had no worry. Now at this point one would think that either this man was one leg off his rocker or he had to be one of the most dangerous beings out there. However after picking off captains, lieutenants, and seated members like flies, another shinigami showing up unexpectantly wouldn't even push him to drawing his zanpaktou.
"Your presence is soothing. So what brings you here Shinigami, hehe. It's been a while since I smelled beautiful."
He spoke sweetly to the woman before pulling out a lollipop and popping it into his mouth. It was like him to call it like it was. He wasn't like most who beat around the bush when he noticed beauty. He told it like it was. Both Zanpaktou were sheathed peacefully at his waist. His arms were completely crossed around his head as well, thus giving the woman many options at attacking him at any given moment right now.

She gave a soft sigh, appearing not at all worried about Kazei, true he was powerful and would possibly win against her, however with her bankai she had yet to lose at that level. It was nice to have a calm and quiet environment, she couldn't take much longer in the crowded bar at the second division, alcohol was very bad for her since she was the type that got angry when intoxicated and that never ended well... ever.
He seemed very placid at the moment but she knew he could strike at any time, she just hoped her offer might be more enticing.
"Soothing? Usually I just make things feel awkward." She glanced behind him and raised her wrist, pressing a button on the brace peice and the camera behind him flashed and turned off. "There. Flattery is nice but I'm her for business..." She was hauntingly beautiful when she wanted to be, especially since her expression was gentle.
She didn't approach him much, only close enough to find a seat. Once comfortable she removed her white haori and laid it on the rubble, due to the sun making the temperature a little uncomfortable. "You're a traitor... And a good one at that. I feels we might have similar interests, I want ultimate power and I think you can help me." SHe paused and closed her eyes. "But like any business deal both parties must benifit, and if all goes as I plan, you will benifit far more than you'd expect."
She wasn't about to reveal her plan or her goal, she had to know if he was going to consider it first, he would most likely ask for more detail but she would not say much...

He liked the woman's style of things. Getting right good and down to the point. Uncrossing his legs, he rose from the chair slowly and pocketed his hands. He knew right from the very moment when the woman entered that she wanted something from him. From the beginning he had kept tabs on each of the members on the soul society. Out of the very few, this woman had shut herself from the outside world and had only allowed her lieutenant to get close to her. The way she moved. Her posture. Everything about her. It was like seeing someone totally different trapped in a shinigami body. She wasn't the woman she put herself out to be in the Soul Society.
"By all means." He smiled. "Ah yes the sweet fruit of power. It's very aroma causes even the most strong minded of men to go mad."
He said rummaging the lollipop around to the other cheek. With that he strolled over to the window and glanced out at the deserted settlement. Turning around, he nodded his head.
"Sounds like a deal. You don't need to convince me that you're trustworthy. I've never seen you opened up this munch to anyone in the Seretei up until this point. I don't think I need to give you any more proof that you can trust me in return. Wouldn't you agree that not killing you where you stand is enough as is....So tell me, what is it that you truly want? And what are your plans..."
It was true. The very moment this woman had entered the room the man could have killed her. Not by his own hands that is, but by others that were watching very closely. One example being that Hitoma could have struck her down before before he picked the Quincy off, but instead Kazei had him spare the woman because of his interests within her.
"Once we go over your plans, I will provide you with a set of your own forces that you will be able to use from the inside."
Sealing their deal off by giving the woman his word.

When he rose, she was quiet, letting him mull over her words, it seemed he wasn't at all concerned and at least trusted her enough to let her live. He seemed to be analyzing her, and while Shiori didn't mind she knew he wouldn't find much, it might be a shock for him if he knew she hadn't always been like this, there was a time when she was much like Karume, and happy, however, the chain around her neck hid a memento from her past, a ring, stained with drops of blood. She had destroyed all the files on the man in the past, and her own dating back to that era, only a few knew anything about it.
His conclusion was correct; she was a different person than the shy awkward girl everyone thought they could trust to keep them safe.
"Madness is merely an excuse for lack of control."
She muttered a little then flashed a rare smile. He was right, his word was enough, her offer was far too much to resist anyways, the gift of power could eventually win over anyone, it had won Shiori over seven years prior when he lost everything that was important and she realized just how weak she was.
“Trust me, it’s a rare thing, don’t expect to see it much, especially with any others around.” She closed her eyes and shrugged. “I need not your words. But rather your proof when the time calls for it.” She suddenly grinned, seeming rather proud of herself. “I may have found Aizen. Once I’m sure I will go to him and offer my services if he will make me stronger. For your assistance I will ask for your benefit as well… I want to be a Vizard, however without him I cannot achieve that.”
She seemed incredibly determined and while he would not find out why through research there was a chance someone else might know something, especially someone she spent a great deal of time with.
Glancing up at him when he offered some forces she chuckled. “I thank you for that, as only two in my squad know of this plan, not even my Fuku-taicho.” Her eyes shifted to give her a mischievous look, she could really be a vile little thing…

Kazei didn't seem concerned at the slightest at the mention of Aizen. He was long history by now and he was merely a shadow of his former self, locking himself up and licking his wounds. Most rogue shinigami seemed to use him as a last resort when all options were used up. However if it was Shiori's wish to find him then so be it.
"Madness in a sense is what brought you here. That empty void inside you that beckons for more power has cost you to risk your life by seeking me out, knowing full well there was a slim chance you could be killed here on sight. Fortunately for you I don't follow fate, I forge a destiny of my own." He smiled. "So you seek to erase the lines between shinigami and hollow within yourself eh, hehe. So be it."
He said pulling the lollipop before glancing back at the woman. There was a slight pause before the man began speaking. Pulling out his soul pager, he entered a text through it. Through it the rest of his subordinates would receive new notice of their new ally.
"So you say only two in your squad know of this plan eh, hehe. You're a funny one. And your lieutenant has no clue of this plan? So what do you expect to do with her..."

She knew most felt Aizen was merely a weak creature hiding in the shadows, but there was more too it. If anyone stopped to consider, they might realize that Aizen was a very stubborn man who, while taking a defeat, had left Seireitei in a mess for many years. He was down but not out. True it was he last resort, she'd mastered her Bankai, and had nothing else to improve on as far as her strength and speed.
"Indeed it did, but while I am sane is thought, My powerful desires are indeed madness." She sighed. He was quite correct, there was an emptiness inside her, but it was inside her heart. Since her husband has been murdered she had only sought out power, it was all she asked for.
"You are correct, that void however is on a personal level." She hadn't seemed concerned about his comment. "You wont kill me. You need my assistance with Soma, I can see that, my cameras will see it and the jury will view it..." Of cource she reffered to the fake images (Kazei and others)they had worked up against Soma.
"Yes, Hollows may be monsters in some cases, but I've researched Viazards, especially one of the greatest from a while back. I want to be like him, except I fight in the dark not the light." She chuckled and glanced at him. "You have a sweet-tooth." It was merely a statement but it made the conversation a little more light-hearted.
"Yes only two. My soon-to-be fourth seat and an unseated member. I picked them specifically, I grew up with my fourth seat, I trust him, my unsteated member is useful because he can slip around unnoticed, he also has a secret ability that will come very much in handy."

"And you have one other member to your team." The voice would sound from empty air a moment before a man appeared to throw off a cloak of invisibility. Kaen stood there, his arms crossed as he looked at the two. "Your hard as hell to find out here.... good thing I bugged the girl." Holding out his hand a small round disk would fly off of her left shoe. "Zampakuto's away please, I'm not here to fight." Kaen only gave a small smile as he stood there, not going for his sword, or making any threatening motions. He wasn't here to fight, and really didn't want to.

It was just as he had confirmed. This woman felt that there still clinging to a lost cause. But if it was what she wished, he would assist her in achieving her goal. True he had left the Seretei in a mess, but the Seretei had also left him in a mess. His army had fallen apart, and everyone he once knew had deserted him. If there was any hope left for him, it would be this woman. He took in what she said about her reliabilities and slightly chuckled.
"You're mistaken. I need you only to take care of any suspicion pointing in my subordinates' direction. I'm clear of everything. If I chose to walk around the Seretei right now I could do so, my hands are clean. Even Old Man Yata himself couldn't do anything without proof. The furthest thing that can happen is have me go to trial, which I will go on my own choice."
He found it slightly amusing that the woman stated how her tactics revolved around working in the dark. It was the exact opposite with Kazei, who just like the element of his zanpaktou, boldly worked in the light where all could see. He smiled before popping the lollipop into his mouth and pulling out another one from his pocket. He had gotten addicted to these things over time, and by this point he was almost never seen without one. With that he tossed a strawberry flavored one to her.
"Catch..It's my favorite one so don't waste it! Those are the sour ones."
He pointed to her in child like manner with a straight serious face. His voice however stayed calm and outgoing like always despite the things he had done. If there was one of the things he took seriously, it was his candy. He knew exactly how many he had and how many of each kind there were.
"So what will when the time comes for things to get real on your end, what will the fate of your lieutenant and third seat be..." He snickered slightly. "I see we have a guess, come out Kaen."
He said without looking at the invisible Kaen. When he revealed his cover, Kazei said without the slightest hint of surprise in his voice. It was fortunate that this man revealed himself at the second he did. Otherwise he would've been slayed on the very spot he stood. There were many eyes watching every movement Kazei made and Kaen wasn't exactly on the list as a potential ally. If this man truly treasured his life, he would start explaining everything right now or else it would be over before he could even see it.((Sup Petross. Just one question man. How would your character know where to find them among this place? Also Kazei's been here since you were fighting the fake image of Kazei back in Karakura.))

 (He's former squad 14, 13, and 2..... finding people with a few simple gadgets and tracking skills is simple for him. Besides, if your going to hide, this is actually the most logical place to do it. I would look here if it was me.)
"Like I said relax. I'm not here to fight." To prove his point Kaen would removes a small black staff from his back roughly 3 feet in length, and throw it at the ground at Kazei feet where it would stick up out of the ground. "There... no Zampakuto." Crossing his arms again the old Shinigame took a deep sigh. "Back on earth.... I never intended to get involved in your fight. The Soul Society turned their back on me, and I on them after they tried to kill me for certain.... research experiments involving hollow DNA. A little while ago however, I found this." Reaching in to a small hidden pouch Kaen removed a small disc before pressing a button on it. From it a small hollowgram of a very particular item involving Vizards, theft, and Kazei's little group.
"I spent.... decades working on a way to infuse Shinigame and Holow powers.... a way to make a new bread of Vizards stronger than a certain Vizard of the past that was said to be the strongest. Its a dream of mine, to make a conscious process of what was an accident. And here somebody goes and create an item that can almost do it... and you go and steal it." Deactivating the hollowgram (Pun intended) Kaen slid it back in to its pouch. "There is my reason. No hidden motives, no grudge match, just something that takes me one step closer to my dream. Of course, after the Vizards are created I can't leave as I will need to run power test that could take a lifetime.... that, and the added bonus of being in a group of, super shinigame, if you will, has certain advantages."

True, she was clinging to the only chance she had, but even once chance was worth something. She was glad he would assist her, afterall she could only do so much on her own. He seemed logical so he probably knew the facts, but she knew a little bit more, she'd spent her first years after her husband died, researching Aizen, memorising everything she could baotu him then destroying the items and files. It had taken years but she was tracking his locations, she had made a few pacts with higher class Hollows and Espada which had vanished to live on their own, abandoning their ranks. It was only a matter of time.
"The video... I see, consider it done. I'll send you a copy once I've edited it." She was the best person to go to for this subject, video feed was a speciality of hers. "True however I am now able to wander freely with you so this might be our first and last meeting for quite some time." She frowned a little, only to be suprised by his sugary addiction, even more so when he offered her one. She caught the item between two fingers and looked at it with a mild and confused expression. "Never tried candy..." She wast one for sweets but since he offered (threatened...) she would not refuse. "I'll eat it later." Shiori placed the sugary treat in her sleeve.
It was only moments later that a secondary voice broke in and her attention shifted, her hand clenching the hilt of her Zanpakuto in a calm manner, only to let her hand fall back to her side a moment later.
"I have a name..." She muttered. "And you know know it, having been a member of my division." She recignised him, one of the few members in her squad that had actually showed promise and skill. She glanced at his zanpakuto and sighed. "Pick it up, no need to toss it aside, I believe you." She frowned a little still, this was a very tense and difficult situation, she did not like making herself vulnerable emotionally.
His demonstration however caught her attention immediately. "So you're capable of making a shinigami a Vaizard... I suppose you need a test subject..." Her last statement was a mutter, she knew someone who would be a good test, if it failed it was no loss but if it worked she would consider asking his assistance. She listened patiently then glanced at Kazei, unsure of how he would react. "Do you wish for such power yourself?" She was curious as to what had set him on path to achieve such a huge goal.

Once she gave him her word about the footage, he nodded his head in agreement. He glanced at the device and shook his head in pity. Once Kaen finished with his demonstration, Kazei only shook his head in pity at the man. The only people living with the material and knowledge to complete such a thing were Oruga Sodai and Delosuke Aragame. Anything else beyond that would be false attempts lost in vein.
"You let me worry everything Shiori. The answer to gaining it doesn't lie with Kaen, though he might have been fooled into thinking it. Sorry Kaen, but you've been mistaken. That power no longer exists in the Seretei anymore."
He said unfortunately proving this man's theory wrong. However it didn't mean it didn't mean it couldn't be obtain. Like Shiori, if Kaen truly wanted to obtain greater strength, all he would have to do is prove his loyalty by joining Kazei's cause. There on the way, he would find the pathway to gaining greater power.((That wouldn't be an excuse, but I'll let you slide. Even the captains from all those squads were thrown off guard during the Karakura incident, so being a former member of either of them wouldn't qualify you enough to find his location. But I guess you can still tag along. But the vizard thing won't fly by, Shiori will get her chance. And it's possible Kaen may also. Just about everything has their own arc in the storyline, including the vizards so just let the storyline unfold on it's own accord.))

"I believe you have me confused with another person miss.... I was... before your time." With a statement like that the two would wonder exactly how old Kaen was as he held out his hand and the small 3 foot black staff like object flew out of the ground and back to its owner. He would then return it to his back as he listened to Kazei's words. "So.... the Shinigame no longer have it.... then I suppose asking your group to help me steal it would be pointless at this time." Giving a small sigh Kaen scratched his chin. "All that work keeping connected to the squad 14 camera system and out of sight now seems pointless." Making a sound of disgust Kaen looked Kazei and Shiori over for a few seconds. "So tell me... Kazei... it's obvious you do not trust me, yet it appears that I will need your help in tracking down the item that I can no longer find, but to do that, I need you to trust me to at least some level, so what do I have to do to earn that trust."
(You fail to comprehend just how much Kaen can do without being detected.)
