It was a lovely breezy day. Fathom had been sent to drop off the catch for the day. Must be her Chief wanting her to socialise more. Pulling the net she reached the pool and let her mind reach out to whoever might answer her. *I have brought food to do with as you like. Come get it or it will go to waist and the birds will pick it to bits.* Still the chill heard in her send. She really didn't care if the land elves made it or not. At least not yet. They were no friends of hers nor did she want them to be. Other then young Dew they could vanish and she would be content.

Savith was sitting, not far off, enjoying the solitude for the moment, while pulling the feathers from a small fat game bird he found. The chilly send lifted his gaze from his work just long enough to register the source. Putting the bird aside, he cleaned his hands as he lifted fromthe ground and drifted over. **My thanks, cousin,** was his reply, gentle if guarded.

She hefted the netted fish up out of the water and onto the ground. She knew full well she was making them dirty and thus making more work but just huffed a little and gave the glider a slight glance. "No thanks from you is needed glider. I only do this to be sure the young minnow feeds well enough." Turning her gaze away she grumbled, "I am not your cousin either. I am nothing to you as you are to me."

Savith landed down gently by the pool's edge, dropping to a knee to collect the gift. "By what shall I call you, if not cousin, for unless you were born of elves aside from the High Ones, we are all cousins," was his retort. His voice was even, calm, if a touch haughty.

Again she huffed as the wavedancer flipped her hair to one side, sending water flying in his direction of course. "If you must call me something call me Fathom but I would just as soon not have my name spout from your lips." She fussed with her pearl trinkets on her body. By now she had acquired quite a few. "I mean it's not like I care to know your name after all." Her tone was even as mater a fact. Just the statement of a simple truth in her eyes. "Can't believe they put a shark in charge of a school of fish." She watched him a moment then went back to fussing and admiring herself.

Savith forced himself not to flinch at the water droplets that arched toward him, controlling himself not even to reach up and wipe the drop from his cheek. Instead, he hefted the net to eye the catch.

"Good catch. Thank you. This is certainly helping things. Your own stores aren't in any danger are they?" He paused lightly to turn his gaze to her, a forced measure of controlled calm about him.

Fathom slitted her eyes slightly "If they were do you think you would be getting any? That is unless our Chief wishes us to go without and his catfish to survive." There she shrugged, "Still I can't blame him though to take company where it can be found just as Tidalwave seems to be doing. If we must, I guess we could always migrate to warmer waters or where ever the hunt is better." Then she paused a moment as if the very thought of what she just said just blew up in her mind. "Still....." Her voice low now as if speaking to herself. "I would miss the young minnow."

There was a faint half-smirk and a murmured comment, "Childern are a blessing."

Fathom seemed almost shocked that he would comment on her talking to herself ramblings. Running fingers over her long sleek tail she laughed softly. "Yes most are. Not yours of course but most others are wonderful."

Savith purses his lips at that, eyes narrowing. Collecting the gifted fish, the glider stands and states flatly, "Ah, how I've missed such sweet insults. You would have fit in so well in Mountain, what with your delicate words."

Oh that tares it Fathom turned to look him in the eye this time. "Would that be by my own choice or whether or I wanted to go or not? Would it be in the guise of a lie or just ripped from the water in the clutches of the giant birds you used because you couldn't do all the dirty work yourself now could you?" She stared at him and waited for an answer.

Savith sneered in reply, eyes narrowing. A terse reply sat ont he tip of his tongue, begging and wiggling to be set free. With difficulty, he turned and pulled himself into the air, dark thoughts lingering about him.

What a satisfied smile sat on those lovely lips. She chuckled a bit then called after him, "Fly on home little bird, your Mother waits to tuck you safe and tight into your nest till you are ready to fly on your own." She waved a hand at him and wiggled fingers.

The sneer grew, just for a heartbeat, before Savith schooled it into a calm little grin. Turning in midair to hover facing the wavedancer, he just chuckled and shook his head at her. "Bittersweet the taste of Home is, coming from you," he said, voice colored with dark mirth. "It's almost enough to make one home-sick. But really, I must go. Don't want your gifts to spoil, now would we?" He drifted higher, chuckling now to himself that he'd even started to get angry. Really, it did have that sickening feel of the mountain to it.

As she watched him leave she frowned. She had hoped to upset him more then she did but oh well. As for his words they sheeted off her like the water. She knew it was only her words that hurt and not her deeds. If the truth was hard to hear then that was to bad for him now wasn't it. She turned to the pool getting ready to go back to her ocean home.
