Push in or pull out on the mouthpiece (the black thing with the reed and ligature).

Lol, that's one way to put it, but if you're just a tad out of tune, then adjusting your ambature (your mouth) is your best bet.
Adjusting mouthpiece: Okay, if you're flat, push in. It lets the sound resonate more. If you're sharp, pull out. You were pushing the air funny.
Adjusting mouth: If you're flat, squeeze the corners of your mouth more. If that doesn't affect it much, then push your jaw a bit harder up. If you're sharp, drop your jaw a little and/or relax the corners of your mouth. If you're still sharp, grab more mouth piece. (Scoot your mouth farther on the mouth piece, like your eating chocolate or something...)
Okay. I'm sure some people disagree with me, but this is what I find works best. Hope you play in tune!

Sax's are terrible for tuning Sharp - Pull out Flat - Push in Meaning pulling or pushing in the mouth piece, not the reed, the mouth piece itself.

i hav had my sax for 3 years. marching is very hard because you have to hold it up w/ ur thumbs. so what i did (it doesn't work unless sitting) is is put a clarinet thumb thing on the thumb piece. like i said it only works when sitting.
