Smiles The rain bashed hard against the window through the dark cold night, the room lighting up in a swift blue cresendo at times. Followed to a monsterous roar in the skies above shortly afterwards.
On this night the test on Thuesday didn't seem so important, at least not for Nicole. She had always been afraid of lightning and tonight it felt for some reason even more frightening. It might be just because it was Friday the 13th, or that the neighboorhood had suffered a blackout, or that she had watched a spooky movie just before the blackout, or that he was still... Whatever it was something felt off.
"Calm down Nicole, it's just the weather and darkness. You found a candle and matches and you have light", It was a poor comfort. The feeling of dread were still in her chest despite her own reassurance, she could feel it creep along the spine and slowly starting to make her sick to her stomach.
She reached for her Cell, dialing the number she had done twice already and waited, one ring, two, three, four.
"Nicole, are you alright?", Nicole smiled as she heard her mothers voice.
She could hear her dad's disgruntled tone in the background, she had interupted their night out afterall with her previous calls.
A scream on the other end of the phone caused Nicole to jump, dropping the cell on the floor and watching as the battery fly out from the impact. Hands were franticly brushing against the floor, seeking for the parts to fix her device of comfort. A loud thunder clap shook the house and made Nicole cover in fear. Laying on the floor trembeling for hours, they should've been home by now. Where were they.
A knock on the door made Nicole flinch, yet she managed to muster up the strength to stand up. Slowly staggering out into the hall and placing her small right hand on the door knob, twisting and opening. Force was applied on the other end to keep the door open, revealing her nightmare standing before her. Smiling that sickening smile of his. The rain sounded louder as he approached her, the door closing behind him.
Nicole was smiling, her mom was smiling and her dad were smiling. Happily. Making it very errie once ones eyes moved up at the article news, even worse throughout the article itself. Manslaughter, Brakes cut, Rape.
Even so the family were smiling, happily. The killer also smiling, happily, content and mockingly.
Such a happy article, so many smiles. Smiles, Now smile, if you can. -------------------------- I know, Pretty dark, errie, probably even psychotic but if it gave you a bad taste in your mouth or a painful stomach then I've done a good solid 30 minutes work. xd

haha why not try it I guess..... I'm not good at making this kinda stuff.... I apologize for grammar and length before hand. I tried to play with colours, names, and stuff like that ^^ enjoy~
Heat of the Moment
"We'll take it" Scarlet said while clutching Ash's hand. The newly weds signed the papers and were set to move in for the following Thursday the 12th. It was an amazing find, cheap and just built, number 96 on Copper road.
Thursday couldn't come soon enough for Scarlet and Ash, and they were soon unpacking their things into their new home. It was a busy day filled with family, friends, laughter, and finally envious sighs as everyone gazed at the now furnished house. It was a dream chestnut cabinets, crimson carpets, a full blooming rose bed out front, and the hearth was crackling joyfully.
After everyone left the happy couple began their romantic first night in the new house. The wine came out as a toast was in order.
"To our new future." Ash said. Just as the tall glasses touched the doorbell rang.
Glancing at the clock it was 12am. Who on earth would come calling at such a time? Scarlet hurried to the door, at first she didn't think anyone was there but looking down she saw a small boy his face dirty and his clothing a mess.
"Where's Ruby?" he asked her eyes brimming with tears. Scarlet took one look at those eyes and felt a wave of pity wash over her. Ruby must have been the girl who used to live here.
"I'm sorry honey," Scarlet replied "I don't think Ruby lives here anymore." She gave an apologetic smile and gently closed the door and walked back to the kitchen.
"Sorry Ash I-"
"Where's Ruby?! I can't find her."
"W-what? I thought I told you she doesn't live her anymore dear."
Scarlet spun around to face the small boy. Apparently he had invited himself into her house. What kind of parents did this boy have? Did he have no manners? She went to usher the boy out but he turned sharply grabbing her wrist.
"Where is she?" he yelled "You're hiding her!" His grip was solid and hot with anger. Scarlet tried to pull away as her wrist began to sting.
"I told you, she doesn't live here anymore!" she exclaimed as her wrist began to feel hot. "Please!" she cried as the heat began to raise ugly blisters on her skin
"Get away from her!" Ash yelled as he heard his wife's pain filled cries but the boy only hissed, his eyes burning with rage. Lighting fast the boy had slammed into Ash sending him flying into the other room. Scarlet watched helplessly as her husband crashed into the mantel with a sickening crack. Sliding down the wall he lay slumped in a crumpled heap beside the hearth that had once seemed to flicker with a friendly glow. It now flared, dancing to the tune of danger and fear.
"Ash Ash!!" screamed Scarlet, she was at his side immediately. Checking his vitals she found him still breathing, but that didn't stop her heart from beating painfully against her chest as if it meant to leap right out. But... But where was the boy? Had he stopped his attacks? No, he prowled the room like an animal whispering her name the whole time. Ruby, Ruby, Ruby.
Why? Why didn't he come closer? Just then a loud pop was emitted from the hearth causing the boy to flinch. The fire, it must be the fire he was afraid of. Her adrenaline pumping she placed Ash down gently, her breath was heavy and sweat began to run down her face. Scarlet's eyes were set, darting crazily back and forth between the boy and her husband.
She grabbed the broom that was used for sweeping out the fireplace and plunged it into the flames.
"Get away!" she screeched her voice shrill. "You stay away you demon!" she swung the broom viciously as she chased the boy. He scampered away on all fours hissing as he went. She ran after him, climbing the stairs to their bedroom in her delirious pursuit.
Soon, smoke filled the house as flames licked the curtains and began to slowly crawl across the carpets. They quickly gained speed, consuming everything in their path.
Scarlet spun around, suddenly snapping out of her blind, mad chase. The boy was no where to be seen.
"Ash..." she gasped her voice raspy and her throat dry. She couldn't breathe but she had to get to him. She had to save him. "Where are you Ash?"
Her vision was clouded, she couldn't tell if it was because of the smoke or her lack of oxygen but she hadn't seen the stairs because of both. Tumbling down she lay still at the bottom for a while however, before long she had begun to crawl. "Ash, Ash" she whispered, much like the boy had done. But she just couldn't make it, her hand lay outstretched, reaching for her something much beyond her reach.
Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust.
Here lay Scarlet and Ash,
May their love be as eternal as the sun

The roses around the house flourished after the incident with the charred remains being good for the soil. The roses unfurled their scarlet petals as the rest of the ashes were cleared and the construction began to make a new house. It was those roses that would charm the next couple into signing the papers.
And on the next Friday 13th a lady would ring the doorbell of the new number 96 and she would call for her lover with a voice that could drive you mad.
