Oooh! That sounds like fun! Unfortunately I have no idea about the opera thing.... Maybe Wikipedia could help? To me, the 3 catchiest (Not sure if that's a word either) songs would be Zydrate Anatomy, Chase the Morning, and We Started This Op'ra S**t.... I'd like to read this once you finish, it sounds interesting.... Good luck!

I have absolutely no idea on the opera/operetta thing. sweatdrop Sorry.
The catchiest songs for me tend to be the recitatives. I get Zydrate Support Network, Everyone's a Composer, and Pièce De Résistance stuck in my head a lot.

Repo! is an Operetta only because it has humour to it. Operas are more serious, but that very fine line is still there.
A good Opera/Operetta consists of a good plot, decently made characters, and twists and turns that keep you on your toes. Since they are also theatrical performances, their good qualities will be shared by other theatrical shows, like musicals and plays do.
You can point out what qualities it has that makes it an Operetta, like monologues, arias, the deaths of a few of the main characters, the music, Graverobber as the one who guides you through the whole thing as a narrator, Repoman's "Thankless Job" scene and others that have the humour to them, etc.
The three catchiest songs to me are "Zydrate Anatomy", "We Started This Op'ra s**t", and "Everyone's a Composer".
