So yeah, how many days a week does everyone practice and what material/warm ups/drills do you use to practice? (simple enough)

I play it too much probably... I put 6 days a week cuz I skip a day occasionally. But as for the stuff I practice, it's basically whatever I feel like playin at the time. For warm-up type of stuff, one thing I use is this fast kinda riff I made up... It's good practice for speed drills too.

Couldn't this just have been a question put in the bass thread? :\ Anywho.. I practice every day for about 30 minutes to a couple hours. I just play random songs that pop into my head and mess around and junk.

I practice about three times a week. =P I usually just start out with simple scales (forgot their names right now. X3)to get my fingers moving and move on to playing easy songs that I can play by memory. =P

Westfield Skanker Couldn't this just have been a question put in the bass thread? :\ Anywho.. I practice every day for about 30 minutes to a couple hours. I just play random songs that pop into my head and mess around and junk. na, i figured it would be easier to find not being mixed in the bass thread, in which i also asked that people could post down some stuff that they practiced in which could help other bass players improve. 3nodding (in my opinion, it seems far beyond just the question of how long you play) Also this brings back the arguement that "we have an entire forum to discuss bass, why force it into a single thread?" case.

I practice everyday, for at least 4 to 5 hours because how am I going to be a pro one day,if I don't practice enough? I want to be one of the best, and I'm thinking about making the band practice a few extra hours...they're kinda lazy stare Anywho,I find that I mostly prefer practicing with Slayer stuff...^^ heart

But i guess that's all guess 'apples and oranges'

I practice around 3 times a week, not because I'm lazy, but my job is four days a week, so that's the only time I can play and not feel exhausted. But, it's waned a little due to me going to paint my room (where my bass usually is) But, playing some of the classical stuff, though not as rough, does help. Right now, I'm working on a Bach piece. And you can play with a guitarist too, which just makes it sound cool. *grins*

I practice about 4 times a week and when it comes to exercises I play as many scales as I have learned (at the time). Then dive right in with a metronome for when I try new things, always with a trusty tape recorder at my side.
