Dion had never been to a Carnival before and, despite how freaky the clowns were, Dion was loving it. The place was loud and crowded but Dion didn't mind. Zach, however, did. Emilie had gone off with Aiko to get her face panted and Zach was to take Dion around the park so he wouldn't explode with excitement. "Dion!! Dion come back here!!" Zach called over the crowd of people as Dion zigzagged through them all. "Excuse me. Pardon me." Zach said as he squeezed past people to get to Dion who was getting further and further away by the second.

Dion was too excited to care where Zach was. He didn't care that he might get lost or if Zach worried about him. All he wanted to do was, well, do something! Anything! He wanted to get into these games and have fun! He wanted to do so as quickly as possible only that wasn't quick enough. Dion cut through a long line of people and ran straight into a dark doorway. The sign above read "House of Mirrors."

"Excuse me." Zach said as he finally pushed through the line and headed for the door. "Woah buddy, back up. You need to wait in line like everyone else." A skinny, lanky, awkward teenager said. The teen sat on a stool just besides the door, he looked like he really didn't want to be there. "Oh. Well, my son just ran in. Could I just run inside and get him? It will only take a minute." Zach ask. The teen looked at him up and down, "I didn't see no kid. So get back in line." He ordered. "But he just ran in, right through the line and inside." Zach said, gesturing with his hand to show how Zach had come through. "Now I know you're excited to get in but making up stories about children will get you no where. Get back in line." The teen continued, moving Zach to the side to allow someone else into the house of mirrors.

"But-"
"No."
"How could you not have-"
"Line sir."
"You're serious?"
"Sure am."
"..."

Zach turned and headed to the back of the line with a frown. He really needed to put Dion on a leash. That and he didn't like snotty teenagers.

Meanwhile, Dion was running down the narrow halls in the house of mirrors quickly. He had gotten lost rather quickly and he bumped into the mirrors repeatedly. Still, the stretched out shape of himself in each mirror was entertaining enough. He stood infront of several mirrors and waved his tail around quickly, watching his reflection expand and stretch with every movement.

" I wanna go on rides and do stuff" Taylor whined crossing his arms and smacking his tail against the ground in annoyance. His sister was older than him but she shouldn't always get to be the boss, it wasn't fair.

" I'm going to the midway" Mareike said firmly, she'd rather play games and win prizes than squish herself onto rides that tried to thrill her and yet never would. The wrath child sighed " look you've got a watch go do whatever you want and meet met at the front gates at eight o clock ok?"

It wasn't that Mareike didn't love her brother or want him to be safe but the girl's patience was minimal especially in an atmosphere like this. Plus Tayor was rather good at taking care of himself. that and she knew her brother's smell and scream pretty well if anything did happen to him she'd be there in an instant.

Taylor grinned and was off like a rocket a quick shout of love you to his sister and he was gone. His favorite ride from the carnival he'd met Ford at was the bumper cars however the line for them was huge today. Nearby though people shouted and giggled as they came out of a thing called the house of mirrors.

Curious about what was going on there and too impatient to wait in line Taylor slunk towards the less well guarded exit and slipped inside.
Soon the pride child was good and lost jumping at strange sounds the seemingly uneven floor than fact that he kept seeing reflections of people not only himself but when he went to touch them they were never there. He wasn't scared yet but he was getting a bit frustrated.

Dion continued to head down the narrow halls enjoying himself. The floor was uneven or so Dion thought it was. It was all very annoying after a while. He was beginning to get tired of the floor and the mirrors and how people were always in front of you but then again they weren't. He heard people talking, laughing but he could never find them. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to come in here. Where was Zach? Hadn't he been behind him? Dion turned in a circle once and immediately forgot which direction he had been walking in. Frowning, Dion placed his hands on the cool glass of a mirror in front of him. His hands stretched out like giant frying pans in the reflection and that made Dion even more annoyed. He turned sharply on his heels and ran down the hall, all he wanted to do now was get out but he had a feeling that was going to be pretty hard.

He wasn't sure how long he was running or how many times he had turned in a circle and got dizzy to the point that he nearly fell to the floor. He did know that there was someone standing directly in front of him and he had no idea whether that person was just a reflection in a mirror or not. So, being aggravated beyond measures, Dion ran towards said person at full speed. He was tired of being alone in this wonky house of confusion and could really use some company. He hoped the person was real, he looked about his own age and had a tail and head wings like kids from the facility.

Dion braced himself for impact as he grew closer to the boy. No matter what he'd collide with something but Dion hoped it was something soft. "AHHHH!!" Dion screamed, charging and full force and slamming into the boy. Oh yeah, he was real.

Taylor, frustrated but admiring the way his could stretch his tail reflection out along multiple mirrors had never seen the other boy coming. Oh sure he'd heard him but Taylor had stopped listening to his ears early on because this place seemed to echo sounds hat come from nowhere, following them or jumping at them got him nowhere. Of course not using his ears now lead to him stumbling and barely keeping his balance as a stranger crashed into him.

" Ow what'd you do that for" He growled his tail lashing behind him from side to side, his eyes, left red and right blue stared in anger but also confusion at the other boy " You coulda hit a mirror and that's bad luck"

Dion hit the boy and staggered some, holding onto the boys shoulder for support so he wouldn't fall over. "You're real?!?!" He shouted again, both hands on the boys shoulders now as if it was some type of miracle. Still not convinced, Dion shook him softly for good measures. He then commenced to poke him in the stomach twice before touching one of his head wings. If he could see it and touch it then he was real.

"Yup, you're real." Dion said in a proud tone, he nodded his head in agreement to himself. What had the boy said? Something about mirrors? Dion didn't like the mirrors all too much anymore, they weren't fun when they made you confused. "I'm Dion." Dion said with another nod. "Sorry about hitting you, had to make sure you were real." He said, watching the boys tail as it lashed back and forth behind him.

Taylor was none to thrilled with being shaken and poked, Dion was also lucky he hadn't stabbed himself on the pride child's shoulder spikes. Still, he understood being confused in this place , after all he'd stopped listening becuase it kept making sounds that weren't real or something. " I'm Taylor" the boy said a hint of agitation in his voice and the fluffy feathers of his head wings ruffled from the unexpected touch.

He paused for a second eyes catching a glimpse of his tail spikes distorted to look huge in a nearby mirror, he hoped they might someday get that big" I came in through the exit but then " he frowned " I got lost" somewhat shameful to admit.

"Me too." Dion said, noticing Taylor's slight shame in admitting that he had been lost. He didn't see what was shameful about it, this place was too weird not to get lost. Every turn was either a dead end or gave Dion a severe case of vertigo. "I can't remember which way I came in. It was the front though." Dion said but he had no idea whether they were close to the front or the back. He looked around for a moment, looking at the ceiling and the floor as he tried to find some hint to which direction they should go. Well, he at least. He wasn't sure if Taylor wanted to get out like he did.

Dion looked back to Taylor only to actually notice his red and blue eye and green and blond hair. More people with cool eyes AND wings?!? Dion frowned. "Cool eyes. How do you get wings?" He asked though it sounded a little like a demand to know. He didn't mean for it to come out that way, he was just tired seeing people with cool eyes and wings and not getting an explanation why.

" I've always had wings" Taylor replied twitching the two pairs of headwings that were in question. As he twitched them a small air current rustled the feather's and the pride child paused then whipped around and pointed " that way, there's fresh air that way." Which had to lead back outside right?

Taylor's answer was no help which led Dion to groan irritatedly. If you always had wings how was someone who didn't have wings supposed to get them? Dion would have drilled Taylor with more questions but he decided against it. Taylor had something much more interesting to say and Dion's mopey wing questions were gone with the wind. Or at least gone with that tiny breeze.

"Fresh air?" Dion asked, looking over Taylor's head to where he was pointing. "Freedom?!" His tone of voice was much too excited. "Go go go go!!" Dion said, running past Taylor in the direction he pointed. It didn't last long, a short distance away there was a thud as Dion stubbed his toe on the corner of one of the mirrors that led to another narrow hall. "Ow!!" His clawed toe left a crack on the bottom of the mirror, it stretched up some but the glass didn't break. "Ow!" Dion said again as he hopped around for a moment, rubbing his toe.

Taylor had been following Dion at his own pace and just shook his head when the other boy stubbed his toe and nearly tripped. " You have to be careful" he said softly and then motioned towards the mirror " It's almost broken , you're probably still gonna get bad luck." So long as said luck didn't prevent them from finding their way out though it was the boy's own fault though.

The pride boy, with his two coloured eyes and hair slipped past Dion but wrapped his tail around the other as best he could and tugged at him " Follow me I'll keep you safe" he was no protector like his sister but he wasn't careless or clumsy like this boy either. " There's magic drinks that gives you wings" he said remembering the tv commerical he'd seen " not the red bull stuff but real magic potions." Maybe if he kept talking to dion he'd stop trying to rush all over the place.

What was all this talk about bad luck? Dion had bad luck now? Why? Because of the mirror? What was so bad about a broken mirror?? Dion stared at the crack he had made with his foot and wondered how much bad luck he had. Was it based on the size of the crack? Or maybe the mirror? Dion really didn't care, he was much more curious then anything else. Having bad luck couldn't be that bad, could it?

Dion didn't bother to ask. He felt Taylor's tail wrap awkwardly around his waist and tug him along. He followed, not really sure what else to do aside from that. "Safe from what?" Dion asked, not too sure what he needed protecting from. The mirrors? Dion stared at their reflection in the mirrors as they walked down the dark halls to the exit. Where ever that exit may be.

And then, amazingly, Taylor answered his question. "A magic potion?!" He asked, surprised and excited at the same time. "What magic potion?!? Where can you get it?" Dion asked, his voice starting out loud but growing lower as he heard his own echo. His tail swayed behind him happily as Dion tapped Taylor's tail just in case he wasn't listening to him.

Taylor thought Dion sure was filled with questions which were hard to ignore never mind the poking at of his tail. " I don't remember what it's called but it has a blue glass bottle shaped like a wing and it's some place called the potion depo in Durem." That much the pride child did remember. Honestly Taylor wasn't sure why the other child was interested in having wings, sure if he was meant to have them he would.

Dion was, to say in the least, shocked by all of this information. Everyone else he had ever asked had no answer for him and yet Taylor was filled with information. How did he know so much about wings? Where had he learned it all from? "Where did you learn all this from?" Dion asked, still being led by Taylor. He stopped poking at him, for now at least. He ran this new information over his head over and over again. He had to find Teyr and tell him all of this. He had promised he would, he couldn't break a promise.

" T.V, it can tell you all kids of things both with normal stuff and commercials" Taylor explained. Some stuff on tv was useless junk but a lot of it was interesting and lots of commercials sold stuff that a lot of people liked or wanted. You just had to pay attention and you could find anything on T.V.

Following the air flow Taylor navigated the tricky house of mirrors sometimes getting lost again becuase he could smell the air but he seemed surrounded by mirrors and would have to go back and take a different turn. " "Why're you so interested in wings?" He asked curiously.

"Oh." Dion said with disappointment. TV? Dion didn't like TV, it was boring and you had to sit down to watch it. Normally when you watched TV everyone wants you to sit still and be quiet. TV was almost as bad as watching a movie in a movie theater! The only difference was that if you were watching TV you could always just get up and do something else, in a movie theater you had to sit through the WHOLE thing. Dion didn't like movie theaters very much.

Dion wasn't very concerned with getting out at the moment. He was much more concerned on how to get this potion. He wasn't sure whether Zach or Emilie would buy the potion for him let alone believe it was real so he'd need to see this commercial and show it to them before anything. He'd have Aiko watch TV and show Zach and Emilie when the commercial went on. Yeah, that might work.

Taylor's question took Dion a moment to answer. "I dunno. Because they're nice." Dion said. He had never really thought about why he wanted wings, he simply wanted them. They were nice, soft and everyone he met seemed to have them. Dion felt left out when he saw someone with a pair or two. There had to be a reason why he wanted them so badly but he couldn't think of it now. Dion frowned, a puzzled expression crossed his face as he tried to give Taylor a better answer and himself an answer.
