A swan Orpheus thought to himself as he read over the chart in his hands before giving a thoughtful sound. That was a sort of... toss up. She could learn either flight or swimming in this class being that she was a water bird. He would lean more toward the swimming if he had his choice in the matter as flight classes were something that he was always nervous about... they seemed at times cursed given all that had happened over time during those classes.
If they decided upon a flight class he would call in Ligeia to help out but if it were just swimming that was something he could handle on his own.

Emi had tried to leave Odette at home. She had! The dragon was insistant on coming so... She was late, by her standards, which for anyone else meant five minutes early. The little swan still had a guilty expression as she slipped inside of the room, her face all screwed up.
"Hello?" She peeped out. "I-I'm sorry I'm a little late. Odette--" The dragon slid in, curled up just slightly near her girl. "--O-Odette wanted to come with and. And we had to argue."
Emi paused when she saw just who it was, and her face brightened. "Are yu the one who gave her to me?"

Orpheus looked down at the pretty dragon that had come along with the girl and smiled, "Its alright, I don't mind my students bringing their dragons along to class and today since we are either doing swimming or flying Odette can learn with us if she likes."
He didn't really mind since what he was taught wasn't battle or magic, it was skills that even dragons could learn.
He gave a shake of his head at her next question, "Me? Naw, I think that is what Peri is in charge of or maybe Alan."

"Oh. I was tiny - tinier - and I couldn't really remember..." A taper and she reached out, skinny fingers reaching out to touch the soft fluff of her dragons feathers. Odette was a comforting presence, almost trembling in a full-body purr that wasn't heard by anyone outside of herself. She scritched gently, fingers flexing against the fluffy. "But - uhm. You said swimming? I want to learn how to swim. Cleo, uhm, Cleo's had the flight class with you.
"She showed me what you showed her. If - that's okay, I mean. She did. She's the short hyper brown and yellow and black goldcrest. Really hyper." Color started to rise up in her cheeks again and her teeth worried at her lower lip. "So I kind of am already learning. Can I learn to swim? I like water but Dagger doesn't like the water and no one else I know I does so--"
More chewing occurred, her lower lip beginning to turn as red as her cheeks. "Please?"

Orpheus gave a smile and a nod, "I recall Cleo." He said before he gave a little laugh at her description of the brightly colored bird girl, "I agree, she was pretty hyper but a very nice girl. I am glad to hear that she was helping you out with learning to fly, another bird is always the best to help out with such a thing."
He was secretly glad to hear that it was a swimming class instead of a flying one, they were a little easier if you asked him. He was able to help out more as well since he lacked wings himself, "Sounds good, we will work on swimming today."

"She's very hyper." Emi agreed, her face flushing once more. She remembered her cousin quite well and assumed that Orpheus had a good concept of the hyper bird. Yep. pretty hyper, but nice. That sounded right. The swan shifted slightly, eyes going from her hands to her feet.
But! Orpheus agreed to the swimming! She smiled slowly and nodded, shifting slightly. "Is there a pool nearby, then?" Emi was even in gear fit for swimming! Sweatpants and a fitted leotard, her hair pulled back into a loose bun.

Orpheus gave a nod, motioning with one can, "Yes, the pool isn't to far. Just a couple doors down." He explained, leading the way to where they would be having the class.
The room that he led the way into was like all the other terrain rooms, it had the feel of the outdoors to it as though as section of the outside had been picked up from out in a field somewhere and transplanted in a room at D-Corp. The pool itself even blended in to a point, looking from a distance like it were part of the landscape though as they got closer it would come to look more like a regular pool.
"Feel free to step into the shallow end to get used to the water." He told Emi, pointing at where the shallow side was, it was marked by a yellow line that went across the bottom of the pool to indicate where it would start to get deeper.

"U-Uhm, alright," Emi didn't move from the edge of the pool even as she spoke. Her wide eyes had trained themselves to the liquid, toes flexing every so often. She was a water-bird! Swans SWIM. She should be able to swim!
To stave off her nerves, Emi shed the baggy pants and, clad in her leotard, finally took a simple step into the water. Cold. She twitched, shivered, but moved further in. Guh. The water beaded on her skin (slightly creepy - she put it out of her head) and the hairs on the back of her neck stood with the chill of it.
"You'd think they could heat it a little more," said the swan in a tone of forced amusement. Shiver! "Okay. Okay. Let's do this."

Orpheus set his things aside and fetch a small, brightly colored flotation device for Emi to use. It was small, flat, and mostly used by the student to lean on while getting used to moving their arms and legs in the right combination.
He gave a bit of a chuckle at her comment, "It would be nice, I agree." Though he was sure that the temperature they had chosen had a reasoning behind it other then trying to freeze the teacher and students that used it. He slid into the water and moved over to her, "This will be yours to use when your used to the water, just rest on it and it will help just a little to keep you up while you learn the different strokes."

Emi hesitated before she took the floaty, fingers wrapped tight around as much as she could. She nodded, chewing at her lower lip, and allowed herself to clutch at the device. The swan leaned.
"I'm a swan. Shouldn't I be born knowing this?" Emi chuckled with a shy, dry humor. Her arms simply tightened more. "A-Alright. Alright. What do I do now?"

"There might be some instinct that your DNA has held onto, if so it might help out in your learning to do this." He said, watching closely as she leaned on the floation device, "Very good, now to start out with just try doing the doggy paddle, its the most simple one to do." The teacher held up his hands and demonstrated what it might look like, "Along with that kick your feet to get used to getting your arms and legs working together."

She couldn't help it: Emi giggled. The young girl clutched onto the floatie, chin tight against the squeaking surface. "DOG paddle?" She squeaked out, shoulder shaking. "You're making me do something called the doggy paddle?"
A slightly undignified snort later and Emi did as instructed. She kicked her feet in time with her hands - or tried. Her hand-eye-foot coordination was going well, thanks to hours and hours of dance class, and somehow, she managed to keep herself up, even with the floaty.

"There are plenty of other strokes you can learn after, this is just the most basic one." He assured her, though the idea of a swan doing a dog paddle was a little odd if not amusing as well. He watched the way that she was moving, able to figure out how to match up the two movements pretty well.
"Your doing very good Emi." He complimented her, "When your feeling that your ready for it how about you try an attempt at doing this with out the floaty?" He suggested, allowing her to decide when she thought that she was ready for such a thing instead of pushing her to do so.

Emi decided at that very moment that she liked Orpheus. Like Kuyoja, he didn't seem to push her too far, didn't come too close to her to the point of being uncomfortable. She liked him! He was a good teacher.
"Do people float?" Emi twisted in the water, pausing in the water. She bobbed like a ridiculous brightly colored sinker, eyes wide. Little hands smacked at the water, eyes going down to the liquid. "Without floaties? If they can, I would like to try."
When Orpheus assured her that people could, indeed, float, the small swan squirmed out of her floaties. They popped to the surface as she abruptly sunk. Emi splashed to the surface, sputtering and coughing, causing quite the splatter.

Orpheus's eyes got a bit wide when he saw the girl go under and took a couple steps forward quickly then relaxed again when she came back up, "Are you alright?" Not a good first attempt but not to bad since she'd been able to surface once more on her own, "If you need a hand I can assist, its going to be a little different for you then it would me to float with those wings of yours." He offered her a hand to take unless she wanted to try again on her own.
