So, it's the season of hell fun and competition.

Just curious.. how are you doing so far?

i wish we would've started the season ealeir so that we coud've made it in to regional open. oh well. just after 4 tournaments we were promoted to regional AA man and it is fun!! i like challenges. 3nodding

Almost all of us are graduating! only two people will be seniors next year, and all the rest freshmen/sophomores. and our signiture cadence isn't written down. so...they are prolly screwed. tho, i'm graduating, ill prolly go back and help um out.

Ours is moving along quite well. We're ahead of the other bands in surrounding counties, but then again our drumline is legendary around here. Not to brag lol. We're already marching and playing though. Not playing our show music though because it isn't fully written yet

December: We get our hard/crazy 9/8 show Vesuvius.
January: Our director rewrites the music in order to make it easier. Line is set, I'm playing quads along with a junior.
1st Comp (Feb): 3rd place out of 3 in Scholastic B Class.
Time: We get time to work on it.
2nd Comp (Mar.): 4th place out of 4 in Scholastic B Class. However, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place scores were SO CLOSE to first.
More Time: Self-explanatory.
3rd Comp (Mar.): Our underestimated yet hardworking drumline gets 3rd out of 4. Believe me when I say this, that was a big improvement considering my school's "reputation."
One week's Time: We clean up anything that doesn't sound good, add even more to our "Chaos" ending. I loved that ending.
4th Comp(Apr.): Technically, 3rd out of 4. But the school hosting had their drumline perform also, so in my mind, 2nd out of 3. Our BD tells us our next show... Micheal Jackson. Yes, Micheal Jackson.

God, I can't believe I can't re-live this year's season. But I got 3 more years ahead of me.

Don't even know when band camp is this year or how much it is. *wines*

Some of you guys are competing by now? Wow.

Well, meh. We only had like 5 people graduate and we're getting like 20 freshmen, so we might move up from AA to AAA, which is a dangerous thing. I don't know how we're gonna deal with it.

Our drumline has been doing great...we're MUCH further along than we were last year...and we have a new director....and he's awesome...i don't know him too well...he primarily works with the battery...i'm in the pit. But we have only one more week before the evil band camp and we are in a good place. i know i have all my music memorized. the only thing im having trouble with is an eight measure run at the beginning. our tempo is 160...i can play it at 144...but i cannot for the life of me get it to 160...it's the longest run we play...and only the vibes have it. grrr...i hate first vibe part...it sucks!
