I just started playing The Sims again a little while ago (not The Sims 2 yet, unfortunately) and I'm totally hooked whee First time around I had to stop playing after House Party, because my computer couldn't handle it. But I recently installed more RAM, and now the game is running just fine. Unfortunately I've missed a lot, pretty much everything from Hot Date and up... I have all the expansions now except Vacation and Superstar, and I'm absolutely loving Unleashed (wheeee, kitties! xd ). Sooo, what I was wondering was if anyone could recommend some good download sites? I'm especially looking for pet stuff (I've been looking *everywhere* for a different colored scratching post *lol*), and I guess also some good child skins. I love welldressedsim.com (got most my furniture there), but they also have very few pet items... Any suggestions? I prefer free sites, but if the items are extremely good I don't mind paying a little whee

I love the Sims! I haven't played any of the expansions (mainly because my computer stinks and can't run them) but I've played Sims 2 on Playstation 2 and it was really weird (compared to PC). I got Gameboy Advance SP for Xmas and The Urbz. That is a weird game too (it's goal oriented instead of freeplay). I don't have any download sites to offer (again, my comp would die) but I just wanted to comment on how great Sims original is!! I know a few cheat codes if you want them. I use the money code mostly. I know I shouldn't but it's so fun to build mansions!! ^_^

I've never played the game or any games like it. I prefer the more aggresive games like diablo2 and I really enjoy Startcraft!

Oooh, The Sims!! biggrin I have some download sites bookmarked still, will have to look through them later.. I was mostly out to get Buffy, Days of Our Lives and religious items, though. razz (I study religion after all.)
I have The Sims 2, but it's not always running smoothly, even if it does run ok.. Not sure what I'd have to do to make it handle it better. The animations and everything is a bit much for it. *patpats computer* ..all the new interactions between people is great, though!! biggrin And the goals, and the.. well, there's not enough items to download yet it seems.. Will have to look again later.
- Jenn, off to bed..

My Sims 2 ran TONS better after Jason put in a MUCH better video card. I went from an old 32 meg video card to a new AGP 128 meg video card with DDR memory, and suddenly I was able to zoom in and out with no problem and scroll all over my big house easily. Before, it crawled when I'd try to move my view around, so much so that I hardly played.
I got an upgraded processor (went from 933 mHz to 1.7 gHz) and this made the game load quicker when I'd put it in, but didn't change gameplay much. And RAM is important too, but adding more didn't seem to change much for me. Maybe I had enough as it was? So, I'd say check into your video card first, as that's REALLY what made the difference for me.
I got a Sims game for my gamecube for christmas, but I haven't tried it yet. And Cloud, I'm glad you like the kitties in Unleashed! I hoped you would! They're cute when you get two that are in love, and they snuggle, and once I saw my kitty was "playing in the curtains" or something, but by the time I scrolled over to look, she wasn't, so I missed what it looked like! I think that's something they only do on their own, as you can't make them do it.

Sometimes kitties pounce each other, but have a bad interaction from it and they don't wind up liking each other much... I've tried placing curtains in all my kitty houses to see if I can catch a kitty doing that again, and I haven't. neutral Doggies like to drink from the toilet though. And in Sims 2, toddlers love spashing in toilet water as well!

I created our new house on Sims 2 that we're moving into next month irl. I haven't started furnishing it though, partly because the game doesn't give me the kind of options I'd want to play around with (such as small, medium, and large fish tanks, or shelves on the wall) and I haven't gone looking for any free Sims 2 dl sites yet (anyone know of good ones?)
One problem is the basement. I know you can click a level down from ground floor, and I can dig the ground deeper underneath my house for a basement, but my question is, how on earth do I get my sims down there? I know I've seen people able to get into the basement on a community lot. Is there a way to go through the foundation from the side? Or do I need to dig it deep enough so stairs will stand up down there? I can't remember how they did it on the community lot.

i have the sims2 and i needed an upgrade before it would run properly, sections used to take 5 minutes to load beforehand! i would love to find some dl sites for it, one of the things i enjoyed most about the original sims was doing up the homes and the choices for furnishings and decorating aren't so hot for the sims2 because they've put more into the game play. i notice that your sim can still disaprove of your tastes though, i buy something nice for them and they pull a face! huh, that's gratitude for you! xd

i downloaded some new clothes for sims2 today but they haven't appeared on the game sad did get a patch from the sims2 website though which has given me a few different things. unless i manage to figure out what i did wrong on the downloading i think i'll have to rely on patches and wait for an expansion pack. most of the stuff i saw today was just too weird, i don't want a sim town full of goths, ghouls and vampires! i should have realised that most of the people creating stuff for these games would be teens rolleyes
