This is a private roleplay for Yuuka Kurokawa's Candy Heart and Makette's Corine and Duskai. They are near the river in the clearing near the mountains.

The pair never really traveled together, for Corine was off with her brother, or just traveling, and Duskai had her own paths to walk. The herd mates didn't have a whole lot of time devoted to getting to know eachother; not that it mattered though.

Corine knew that Duskai took a long time to trust other, and she herself took a long time to become friends. Somehow, the pair had become friends. This boggled both Duskai and Corine's minds.

They walked silently, white mare next to deep purple. There wasn't a need to talk. They came to a river and paused to drink. Corine spotted the pink mare first, but took so long to decide whether it would be a good idea to speak to her, that Duskai spoke first.

"Hello there..." she said, looking at Candy Heart. Corine nodded her head. "Hello."

Duskai instantly recognized the nerviousness, for she herself had once been like that. But Taigi, and Kai Lui (Kai... the name sent her heart soaring just at the name), and Bella, and Pyre had all helped the mare come into her own and move past her fear of speaking. She still did faulter when she spoke, and her words were sometimes accompanied by pauses, but she was better. She knew this mare's nerviousness was different, but alike all the same.

"We mean you no harm. We were simply taking a walk and needed water. I am Duskai," she said, bowing her head. She glanced at Corine to speak.

Now, bless her soul, the mare in question was so deep into debating the pros and cons of introducing herself, she almost didn't notice when Duskai hit her with her long tail. Corine blinked and hastily added, "I'm Corine. Sorry about that... I'm a little... indecisive." She attempted a shrug of indifferance, but was just met with an eyeroll from Duskai.


"Who are you?"

Duskai gave her a warm smile, understanding of her nerves in her grey eyes. "It's nice to meet you, Candy Heart. And please, don't worry. It's not like... we're going to eat you... or anything," she said with a chuckle. Corine nodded, though she didn't smile. She was more or less indifferent at this point. Duskai almost wanted to kick her in the shins. Really, she had to be 'indifferent' at a time like this!

The dark purple mare almost let out a snort and shook her head, but refrained from doing so. It wasn't really necessary, and Candy Heart was probably scared enough as it was. She didn't need to get the wrong idea.

Duskai and Corine both nodded as she said she was new. They knew that feeling. Corine finally decided to speak.

"No... we were just going for a walk. We don't do that often, her and I, for our paths never seem to cross for more than a few days. She is my herd mate, well.... technically speaking I'm her herdmate, since she was with our two legged first and I was second, but that's only if you want to get into the semantics of it. You could also argue that she is my herd mate, if you used the word as a general term, and not base it on timing. Of course, that too has its disadvantages and advantages, which are neumorous and lengthy and should be concidered and --OW! What was that for, Dusk!?" nickered Corine. She turned to Duskai, her eyes wide with annoyance.

The purple mare shook her head and gave her a look as if to say, 'Corine, you are rambling, shut up.' Corine blinked and blushed, her dusted grey cheeks filling with pink.

"Sorry.... I do that... A lot."

Duskai nodded and smiled. "Ah. I'm in a situation like that... though I haven't seen Kai in a long time..." she said, frowning for a moment. She needed to find him again. She missed his presence dearly, for he was one of the ones to pull her out of her shell.

Corine was silent, listening intently to the conversation. At the moment, she couldn't add anything to conversation. She just had her brother as a stallion she knew so... it wasn't like she wanted to find love anyway. The whole idea quite baffled her, and if she did, she swore to never do what her mother did, and leave her mate. Ever.

Duskai and Corine both noticed the change in Candy's speech. The purple mare grinned for a moment, before her smile turned soft and she walked over to Candy. "I wonder what it is, as well. I don't know if I 'love' Kai Liu but I know he has helped me greately... he is the reason I speak as I do. Before I came here... I did not speak. At all. He has been... a great help to me," she said, looking out at the horizon for a moment. Speaking of him made her chest fill with warmth, but from what she wasn't sure.

"If that's what love is then, I suppose you are right," she said, giving a smile to Candy. Corine fidgeted slightly before speaking.

"I'm not in love, my brother is someone I love dearly," she said simply, with a rare smile she only ever gave Gaspard or Duskai. She liked Candy Heart, for she was nice, and Corine didn't have to debate on whether to like her or not. It just was. This was puzzling to the white mare, but she chose not to debate it yet. She needed to be alone for that.
