Physical Description: Average height, although his adult height isn't yet known, and a thin build with developing muscle. He is sometimes called "wiry," but it seems to suit Denik just fine.
His eyes are pale green, a trait running through his family. His hair is extremely light brown after being bleached by the sun. It falls to about ear length.
Personality: Denik is very adventurous and loves to find and test his limits. He is competitive, but not hostile and is actually a bit modest. If someone beats him at something, Denik tries his best not to be a sore loser and works to improve. If he loses, he tries not to gloat. He loves having fun and is open to his friends, but polite and a bit shy around strangers.
He enjoys playing with the other kids his age at the Weyr. He likes to think of new things to do to spend his time so he isn't stuck in monotonous circle. Denik is also open to the other boys' ideas, but it sometimes leads him into trouble.
He tries his best to act chivalrous and like a gentleman around females, but often gets tongue tied when he is talking to a young girl his age. He isn't as shy around tomboys, and he thinks they are pretty cool.
History:Denik grew up with his family in one of the traders' trains and has never stayed in a single place for too long. Because of this, he has seen many different places in Pern. Denik had not yet found his specialty in work, so he was often doing different jobs, from riding small runners to checking inventory.
He constantly looked up to and competed with his two brothers, Tren and Kanji, but his inexperience often left Denik unable to match his brothers' abilities. Tren was the best handling the runners. Kanji was a great leader.
When the train was moving somewhere around Nerat, Denik stumbled across a fire lizard clutch. Sadly, many of the eggs were already lost to tunnel snakes, but one was saved and eventually hatched. Denik saw his green fire lizard, Apid, as the one thing that made him different than his brothers.
Denik was eventually Searched and brought to Ista Weyr.
He is determined to make his family proud and prove that he can become his own person, not some smaller copy of his brothers.

Other/Talents: Denik is pretty good on the back of a runner. He can surprisingly sing on key, but hasn't a clue how to play an instrument. His handwriting is fairly neat, but he is not anyone's first pick to translate drum messages.
