So apparently in the glorious Pennsylvania house of representatives they are kicking around the idea of putting a tax on violent video games. The article I read about it brings up good points. What is the criteria for a violent game? The fact that they would consider doing this to video games and not other forms of media is discriminatory. So what they want me to do is shell out more money because I want a violent game? Ridiculous.

Wouldn't that basically apply to almost every single game out there?
Megaman-Violent TWEWY-Violent Pokemon-Violent GTA series-Violent Digimon-Violent Halo-Violent Almost every single game that isn't rated C for children-Violent
Its like slapping a tax on every single game out there. Because most games use some sort of fighting method to continue onward, and that's a lot of games.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. If you think about it even Pac-man is pretty violent.

"So, this character... he runs around... and he jumps on enemies heads?" Ummm... yes?" "Well, that seems violent to me. Let's tax this s**t." "But..."

dragn99 Locke Trufeld At least we can still play Animal Crossing. >_> .... You can hit people with nets. Don't forget Pitfalls. They may not be directly violent, but there's something messed up about trapping people in holes. I mean, look at Team Rocket.

"I love the irony in this story.
We fought in the American Revolution against the British; and held the Boston Tea Party because of double taxation by the British; getting taxed on items twice. We fought the American Revolution for the freedom to NOT get taxed twice on items. Yet, Pennsylvania....one of the original 13 colonies....home of the Liberty Bell, wants to double tax on "violent" video games.
I would suggest to Pennsylvania if they let this idea actually pass to let me fly there and take a sledgehammer to the Liberty Bell. That way you can express how much you actually DO NOT care about American history and what we fought for so many years ago."

Oh that sucks. I'm from PA as well. I guess I shall be making outings to DE the land of no tax and joy more often to buy my games if this happens. >.<;
