Wylde watched the angelic looking boy poke around the front of the shop and a small sigh passed his lips. What was he going to do with these two children that seemed to have appeared so suddenly? Khan had warned him and he didn't listen and likely Wylde planned on doing things a touch more carefully now (unlikely).

"Hey, kid, go get your breakfast." Wylde said lazily pointing to the back. The wild mage had begun an 'adoption day' and thus far no one has really showed up and very likely the first child he got a hold of would be shoved upon someone un-expecting and innocent of his crimes.

The angelic boy glanced at the adult and sighed a bit as he wandered toward the back where that other grumpy man sat and made sure he and that other child ate.

Madeline was bored. It had been two months now since her unexpected growth from a spindly child into a spindly teenager had sent her shuffling home with a high school degree, her second. Apparently, the Greenhills Academy for Girls drew the line at teaching near-adults, no matter how little time they had actually spent as children. It was a wonder anyone on Gaia could read at all with the speed at which people grew around here.

The criminal strode down the street, left hand in the pocket of her long trench coat, right hand swinging free. An odd shopfront caught her eye and she stopped, pushing open the door and surveying the scene in front of her. Maybe she could tell these people her parole officer was having her make the rounds and let the neighborhood know she was a sex offender. The most effective lies were the ones based in truth, after all. The presence of children kept her silent, the smirk on her lips the only indication that she had been planning mischief.

Wylde had briefly ducked under the counter of the shop front to get at something. Apparently within the space of time it took for the potential customer to finally make an appearance and his just standing there lackadaisical was just enough time for the small angelic toddler to scuttle his way beneath it and faintly out of reach. "Don't make me use float magic on you." He threatened gruffly before he saw the woman that had entered and suddenly donned a large smile.

"Er, I mean, um...Hi." He was flustered by the child's antics and the woman's smirk. Wylde was either about to get in more trouble without having caused it on his own or he was gonna be able to get rid of one of the kids...

"Hello there," Madeline replied. Her smirk faded as she spoke, but it remained in her voice, as much as a playful lilt could remain in a voice as rough as Madeline's. "How are... things?" she added, with a glance at the winged boy and the rest of the shop. Float magic? Okay, then.

There was nothing obvious about how the shop was set up to indicate its true purpose or what it offers but either way there were odd things hanging up and set on shelves here and there and a few jarred and pickled creatures on shelves floating peacefully in the embalming fluid.

Wylde leaned against the counter as a foot nudged the child to further his plan to get the child from under it, "Pretty good, pretty good. Ha, ha. What do you need?" The wild mage wasn't nervous as much as he was just trying to figure out how to offer this kid up on a platter to this woman.

The angel boy peeked from under his counter and stared at the woman. There was something about her...

Seeing the winged boy out of the corner of her eye, Madeline turned to look down at him. What? She narrowed her eyes and stuck out her tongue at the child before turning back to Wylde. "I don't need anything, really," she answered. "Just looking for something to do." What she really wanted was an excuse to leave home altogether, not just wander the streets all day like she had been doing for weeks now, but this strange dude hardly needed to know that. "Anything fun going on around here?"

The boy blinked at this display not sure what to make of it and so he did it back in mimicry. He wasn't sure what else to do but after a moment he crawled out batting at Wylde's nudging foot with a small frown. It was, at this point, uncertain if the boy knew how to talk.

"Not really. I am just kinda doing business, hopefully and maybe adopting out a kid or two because it seems a selfless and kindhearted act. Want one?" Wylde held an oddly hopeful tone to his voice as the angelic looking boy began to creep his way over to Madeline. It seemed as if she was the one the boy would pick even if the woman denied it.

The boy hadn't shown much interest in anyone else, so why not?

((Kiddo can now be under yer control if you like. 8D))

The criminal laughed once, a rude, huffy sound. "A selfless and kindhearted act, eh?" she said. "Well, you can forget it. I don't need to be around any more stupid ki..."

Wait.

With a whirl of coattails and hair, Madeline kneeled and gestured to the child to come closer. The boy stepped forward, eyes narrowed curiously.

"Are you a nice kid? You know, good, quiet, obedient, that sort of s**t... sorry... stuff?"

The winged boy didn't know what obedient or s**t was, but he did know that he certainly did not want to be good or quiet. He wanted to go home with this lady and be loud and smile a lot like she did. His brow furrowed as he prepared to tell her that, no, most definitely not, he was not good and quiet.

"Yes," he said instead. His expression went from defiance to disbelief as his own voice betrayed him, but his answer had already brought Madeline to her decision.

"Fine, I'll take him."

Wylde watched the interaction with a bit of bated breath and hope. If he could get rid of a child that means he only had one to worry about. Right? Right. Quietly the mage made as if he wasn't hoping for anything and simply gazed around in a sort of bored and indifferent manner but the excitement and hope still showed in his eyes.

His mind actually succeeded in wandering off when he heard the distant voice of the woman in his shop. Wylde blinked his eyes a few times and looked at her, "YOU WILL!? Ahem, I mean, you will? How delightful! Here sign this for me, please. If you have any issues you can always reach us." Wylde shoved forward a contract of sorts that basically was an agreement on both sides that if something happened ... Well someone would take responsibility. The wording was odd and loopy ... Probably because Wylde wrote it.

Not particularly interested in the intricacies of contractual obligations, Madeline picked up a pen and hesitated for a moment before scrawling her name at the bottom. It wasn't that she was having second thoughts, it was just so rare that she ever had to sign the name she had been given on this planet that she almost hadn't. Awkward.

"There you go. Madeline." She glanced back down at the contract, looking for a name or some sort of other information that identified the place as something other than a quirky haven for child merchants.

The boy peered up over the counter too. He knew the man's name, had heard him called by it before, but he kept his mouth shut. He was afraid of what might come out if he opened it.

Wylde loved it when people didn't read contracts. It made it easier to pull things over them, kind of. Sometimes he was obligated to find loopholes because otherwise his twin breathed down his neck in a very angry sort of way and that was annoying, at best. The only 'clue' to the name or purpose of the shop was the word 'Thuk' toward the top and 'contract' at the bottom in smaller lettering and then a bunch of mumbo jumbo that would interest very few other than lawyers and businessmen.

"I'm Wylde and you can come here anytime you have an 'issue'. No refunds, not that payment is required. We just want our customers to be happy and have a companion," he said happily after his introduction but of course the people were now getting more than a 'companion' but a responsibility of adopting and raising a child. Not what he had intended but hopefully she'd still take the 'bait' he laid out.

"Yeah," Madeline said. "No worries." If she found the kid was too much trouble, she would just pass him off to Jack. The stupid b*****d loved kids. "Come on... Companion," she said, snickering as she reached out her hand for the child to take. The two started out of the shop, the young Thuk opening and closing his free hand in a wave as he was led toward the door.

Quite happily the odd man waved to the small child and he wore a big grin, "Good luck at your new home, kiddo!" he called after. Saying this gave insight that perhaps he really did care about what happened to the child when he left the shop but then again it was possible he didn't. Who knew? Wylde certainly wasn't going to say either way. When the pair left he wandered to the backroom with a small sigh passing his lips as he looked upon a small auburn haired girl.

"Now, what to do with you...?"

The girl shrugged wordlessly and hugged her teddy bear.
