Jacoliia slunk through the underbrush tiredly. She'd been following a herd of deer for what seemed like ages, and it was beginning to take it's toll on the poor dragon. She had been tempted to attack a dozen times, but something had always stopped her. The deer had run off every time she got close.
"Well, better give it another shot," Jacoliia thought to herself, and she lunged after the deer.

Adair charged through a bush, as he chased after two deer. He wasn't hungry, but was in the chase more for the feel of it. It was exhilerating as he dashed after one, it veered off to the right. The deer headed for a clearing, jumping over a log and under a low hanging branch.
Adair didn't see the branch and ducked to late. He found himself laying on the ground dazed for a mere moment. As he picked himself up, he spotted a dragoness, far off in the distance, as she lunged after the unsuspecting prey. He didn't move, for fear he'd scare the deer away.

To Jacoliia's pleased surprised, the deer had suspected nothing, and she caught them completely off guard. She took one down in under a minute, and she began eating as soon as was physically possible. She was starving, and exhausted. Her limbs shook, threatening to give out, as she ate.
Then they did give, and Jacoliia collapsed, landing on the ground in a heap. She barely noticed. She just kept eating, too exhausted to care.

Adair watched the female as she caught the deer. She looked tired and didn't want to bother her, but as soon as she collapsed to the ground, he was bounding toward her.
"My Lady are you okay?" he asked frantically. Adair being a gentlemen was naturally worried about another. He noticed she continued eating and sat down waiting. The dragoness didn't just look tired, but half starved as well. "Do you require another to feed your hunger?" Adair asked kindly.

Jacoliia looked up and swallowed tiredly as the male approached. Beautiful coloring, she thought to herself absently. "I'm alright," she smiled widely, her friendly nature taking over, "just... tired." She looked down at the deer, then back up at the male. She didn't want to force him...
"Another might be nice..." she trailed off, then her grin widened, "but if you got another, then we could eat together, right?" She smiled. She hadn't met a new dragon in weeks, and sharing a male with one sounded nice.

Adair studied her coat of scales better. She was quite stunning and reminded him of Spring, which was only a couple of days away.
He nodded in understanding and smiled gently. "I'll be but a few minutes my lady. May I ask before I leave, to whom's presence grace do I stand in?" he hoped she understood that he was aking for her name. Usually when he spoke like that, other dragons stared with dumbfounded looks.

Jacoliia paused for a minute, then laughed self-consciously when she interpreted his words. "Oh," she chuckled, "my name is Jacoliia. Or, Jackie, if that's too long," she smiled. "And you are?"
He really was a handsome dragon... His mane was so... shimmery. It was beautiful. And his fur was a rich shade of brown...
Jacoliia blinked. It wasn't the time to be thinking things like that. They had just met after all! She knew nothing about him...
But she still admired his mane as she took another bite of deer meat.

Adair smiled, "You have a beautiful name. I'm Adair," he bowed gracefully then looked back up to her.
She was really, truly stunning. The earthy brown under her flowery markings made her seem like she was apart of nature's natural beauty. Her mane a wonderful green, shined in the light in all places as she moved.
Adair knew better than to say anything so soon, but he took a liking to her. "I'll be right back m'lady," he bowed again and took off. It took him only a few minutes to find a deer. They had regrouped he noticed. He grinned and lunged after the nearest one. It went down, as he swiftly took its life.
With the deer in his mouth, Adair made his way back to Jacoliia. "Here we are," he smiled joining her. He took a bite out of the deer and offered her some of the meat. "Would you like some?"

((OMG. Oggling Mindblowing Goodness. If they ever have eggs, I'm SO naming one Sprout. xd ))
A shiver of pleasure went through Jacoliia's exhausted body as he spoke again. He liked her name! She resisted the urge to give a girlish squeel.
She watched, a bit star-struck as he went and took down a deer in only a few minutes.
"Uh, yes please," she replied stupidly when he returned, wearily accepting some of the meat. She'd eaten her deer nearly down to the bones already. "That was... quite impressive," she told him with her eyes downcast, "I'd been tracking that herd for weeks, but they always took off before I got close... I usually hunt with other dragons, so I guess that's part of it, but still... That was very impressive."
Stop repeating yourself. You sound like an idiot, Jacoliia told herself, mentally smacking herself on the forehead. Come on! You're an adult! Make civilized conversation. This is the kind of crush a teen would get! You're too old for this...

((Lol xD That would fit all too well))
Adair chuckled. She was sure a delight and even though she was tired, he could tell she was probably an energetic one.
"Thanks, I used to watch other dragons when I as small and leanred from them. You're not bad yourself," he took a bite of meat and watched her for a moment. "It does take a while to get the moment right, I used to have a lot of trouble. If you'd like, I wouldn't mind hunting with you sometime." He gave her a kind smile before taking another bite.

((Lol, and if they have a kid with both their shades of brown, I have the desire to name one after chocolate. 4laugh ))
"Absolutely," Jacoliia beamed at him. Oh no, did that sound too eager?
"I mean... If it wouldn't be taking up too much of your time," Jacoliia recovered quickly... She took another bite of deer meat and chewed slowly. "I mean, you must have a family to take care of, right?" Because a male as gorgeous as you MUST already have a mate, she groaned inwardly.

(Lol that too would be a perfect name ^^)
Adair chuckled. She was an eager one, but it only made her even more of a delight.
"I'd love to, and of course it'd never take up any of my time," he paused after a moment as he heard the question. "No I don't sadly. I'd love to someday though," he smiled gently and watched her. Adair stared and admired her. He quickly glanced away as he knew his gaze lingered too long and he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable.
"How about you? Do you have a family?"

Jacoliia looked up in surprise when he said that he didn't have a family... but that he'd like to. Was there a question in that? She watched him curiously, then noticed in shock that he was watching her as well. Her face grew hot and she turned back to her meal quietly. His question startled her a bit.
"Um... No," she gave him a small smile, "No family... When I said that I usually hunted with others... I usually just hunt with a lot of friends. I'm good at making friends. But a lot of friends leave after a while, or get mates and go off with them, and I kind of feel like a second tail at that point... Not really needed. So, yeah... Anyway, no I don't have a family." She smiled ruefully at him.
She couldn't suppress the thought that rose to her mind; Not yet I don't...

Adair nodded and was silent for a moment.
"I don't have many friends, and I love it when I meet someone new. When others get mates it does make you start feel like you're a second or third tail, I know that from experience as well," he looked around then brought his gaze back to her.
"To me, my friends are always needed," Adair smiled warmly. "I'd never leave another out or make them feel like they're not needed. Really I'd love to spend my time around friends, like now for instance."
He couldn't but help to feel weird when he spoke of her as a friend. But he knew that if he said anything beyond, he'd probably be taking it too far and he'd only known her for a little while.

"Oh..." Jacoliia gave a weak smile and nodded before taking another bite of deer meat. He'd called her a friend... JUST a friend... She supposed that was part of the hazzard of being so friendly... She treated people like friends... and generally that was all they thought of her as. A friend.
She sighed, but caught herself just in time and turned into what she hoped was a contented-sounding sigh. "Well, that was filling," she smiled, "I think I'm starting to feel a little better... getting a little more energy back." She grinned.
