Zuberi was out walking about outside of the pack lands again. He enjoyed trying to learn about the outside world... anything to bring new knowledge of the outside of the world. He had been lucky and got to meet some new people on his adventures, which was always nice. He loved his pack but it was always interesting to learn about others. Zuberi loved meeting others!!!!
Zuberi was strolling along in some long grass with the moon big and bright in the side. That is when he spotted her. I young pup just on the other side of the field. What was she doing out at night all alone.

Umhlaba-UmntwanaTwana was star gazing, her maw raised to the beautifully clear night sky, the moon round and full. She had her back turned to the pup but, she could smell he was there. Nearby her Mum, Dad and siblings lay sound asleep, she was a newborn barely a few days old but, she had already come to love the nights ways. Her tail wags gently and she remains silent and seemingly unknowledgable of his presence yet.

Zuberi approached the young girl... clearing his throat before he got too close he didn't want to scare her just in case she hadn't caught his sent. "Hi there" he greated finally approaching her side. This young girl was very nice looking. " What are you going out here so late by yourself." Zuberi asked... he was concerned for the girls safety he wanted to ensure no harm would come of her.... he blamed this protective instinct on being the eldest of 8 pups.

Twana turns laying her green-pink eyes on the male pup for the first time. She smiles sweetly and stands facing him now, her tail low and wagging lightly. "Well.." She starts as a gentle wind picks up, blowing her fur slightly around. "I'm not really alone." She sits, her rump bending the grass beneath her and she begins rocking back and forth slowly as she does when she's talking to new folks. "I've got my family close by.. and now you're here." She says, her speech very much imperfect due to her young age. She was a quick learner though and listened closely to when her parents spoke. Her voice was a little high pitch-ish but, that was to be expected, she was a new-born and a female.

Zuberi was shocked by the little once boldness, he liked it though it was refreshing. And he found her imperfect speech endearing he remembered when he was that young and having to learn everything. Realizing he hadn't introduced himself yet Zuberi thought it was about time to let this girl know his name, "My name is Zuberi by the way, or Strongear I suppose, or Zube if you want something easy. I have a lot of names I guess... it comes with being in a pack. " Zuberi wasn't particularly fond of his pack name.... he liked his Swahili name much better but he would answer to pretty much anything including hey you.

She nods gently to his name. "Zuberi.." She mumbles softly to herself letting it sink into her memory. Twana smiles to herself, it sorta rolled off the tongue. "My name is Twana." She says matter-of-factly. "I don't have as many names as you at all.. unless you want to use my full name?" She looks to the ground for a second trying to get all the syllables in place. "Umhlaba`Umntwana.." She stutters a little at trying and blushes softly. "It means Earth Child Momma told me." Pride strikes her voice causing it to seem more powerful and almost startling coming from this new-born, she wasn't large, almost seeming the runto f the litter so power seemed odd.

Eathchild .... Zuberi liked it. "The meaning of my name is Strongear.... technically my full name is Zuberi-Sikio but I never go by that." Zuberi informed the young girl. "So what is it that you are watching out here? Zuberi asked looking up to where the young one had been watching. He wanted to know more about this little dog. She was kind of becoming.

Twana listens intently as he spoke, her eyes on him until he had asked what she was watching, then she just flopped onto her back, tail wagging. She stares up at the sky and smiles dreamily to herself. "The stars." She closes her eyes a moment and relaxes all tension she had from being seated then gazes up again. "Aren't they beautiful." Her words were slow and steady, she was working hard at keeping them apart. She didn't want to do the common puppy-slur of larger words.

Zuberi chuckled at the younger pup but in a loving way. He found her quite endearing. Flopping down beside her on his back he looked up at the stares. "Mmmmm they are pretty." Zuberi mumbled. It was odd Zuberi's pride was a nocturnal one, yet Zuberi hadn't really ever spent any time looking at this wonderess bright things in the sky. "Do you have a favourite one... or set of ones?"

Twana makes a side-glance at the older pup now laying beside her then gazes back up. She already had her favourite in eye-sight. "See the ones over there." She raises her left paw towards a large clutter, 'the big dipper'. "I like that one." She's unaware of the name or even if they are a constellation as he called them. She didn't even know what a constellation was! But, she favored those stars over the rest. "What's a constellation?" She looks at him, struggling at saying the word properly but, succeeding after a moment, pride settling in her voice again.

Zuberi sat in deep thought for a moment.... how to explain a constellation in a way this young would understand.... "Well" he began, "The are special groups of stars that the two legged ones have given names and stories.... unfortunately I don't know many of the names or even which groups are a constellation in comparison to others. " Zuberi hoped that she understood what he said. He wanted to help her, wanted to teach her the little he had to offer. Anything to make this little one smile.

She stares up at the skies, his definition of constellation prodding her brain to life. Two-legged? They're grouped? Huh? her mind was filling up fast with questions but, she smiles. "That's so neat.." She says, finding it hard to grasp on the new thoughts so she stats with another small question. "What's a two-legged?" She asks her eyes back on Zuberi. Her tail thumping the ground lightly as question after question piled up. She kept a good paw on it though and held them back.

Zuberi forgot that not everyone knew of the two legged ones. His pack had come from a union with them.... he thought of how to explain to her what two legged ones were.... "Hmmm well they are kinda like us.... but different they stand on only two legs, and the use there upper two legs differently its hard to explain. They also speak differently. There are not many in this area, so our kinda do rarely run in with them. Which is good because not all of them are very friendly." Zuberi thought about his answer... it may still confuse the little one still, but he didn't know much more about these two legged ones himself... just that his pack came from them. He hoped he had helped a little at least.
The young ones inquisitiveness reminded him of himself... he was like this when he met others. He liked how similar they were, he also liked that he was finally able to share his limited knowledge with someone else.

Twana is astounded by the males knowledge. She had yet to talk to her Mum much, she had been sleeping a lot lately, exhausted from the birthing. But, now when she could talk to her she'd have things to share! "Stand on two legs!?" Her voice got slightly more shrill at the end as she tried to imagine them. her tail thumps a little harder for a brief moment. She gazes back up to the stars. "They aren't friendly?" A lot of her questions disappeared after he'd mentioned they weren't friendly. Some still remained. Like.. What did he mean? And how so? She ponders these in the brief silence of Zuberi's thoughts.

Hmm Zuberi wasn't sure that they were all not friendly, but he had heard that there were those who weren't friendly, but there was also those who were friendly. "Well..... " Zuberi started thoughtfully, "I know that there are some who are nice, but there also some who would wish to hurt us. And that's why we usually stay away from them and avoid making contact." Zuberi was pretty sure his answer was right, he would hate to lead this pup astray. He cared for her already, he wanted to take care of her.
