Okay I know we are all busy mommies and daddies here but im lost. I was just woken up on and off since three to a silly baby... And then at five something she woke up screaming and every time i tired to lay her down to make her relax and go back to sleep she would scream.. And here is the thing she is slowly getting on the regular milk via milk formula mix but im starting to think she is lactose and tolerent..

Symptoms
A little gassier
bloated slighlty

Im thinking i may stop and wait till the doctor because that means she would have to get soy milk instead..
Ugh What am I gonna do?

My son Kairos did that alot but it was usually because he had nightmares. When he did i either put him in bed with his twin brother or brought him into mine and my husbands room and rocked him until he fell asleep. He never had a problem with milk so i dont know if it is contributing to your daughters problems but talking to her doctor would probably be the best thing (by the way you mean Lactose intolerant). My advice would be to try rocking her or even bringing her in to sleep with you and if that doesnt work then talk to her doctor.

By "regular milk" do you mean breast milk or cow milk? Breast milk is best and is generally recommended for at least the first six months, but the longer you can do it, the better.

Cow's milk can cause some problems for human babies since it wasn't made for them; it was made for cow babies, which have different nutritional needs. Many babies are allergic to a protein in cow's milk. They often outgrow the allergy by the time they're two or three years old, but that could be the cause of the issues you're seeing now. Cow's milk can also cause iron anemia in babies.

Formula isn't any better. Babies raised on a formula diet are far more prone to health problems than breastfed babies are. Breast milk contains antibodies; formula does not. Those antibodies help your baby fight off infections and other problems. Babies raised on formula are far more likely to develop pneumonia, MS, diabetes, weight problems, leukemia, heart disease, and many other issues.

Talking to a doctor about it sounds like a good idea.

Here's a collection of articles on the subject if you're interested in reading more:

i personally dont understand the big deal in some states about formula and breast feeing. my daughters 2 1/2 and i never breast fed her, has been sick just once with a fever. and her weight is perfect. not over or under done. so its really up to the parents to decide that. the most you give her when you breast feed is your immune system. but as she/he gets older, they develop there own. theres nothing wrong with formula feeding or breast feeding. its an option they give cause there both healthy for your child. my child now drinks regular milk. that lactose and tolerant issue i would definaltey go to your pediatrician for it. you dont want your child to be harmed

If you don't understand what the big deal with breast milk is you should talk to your doctor or read some of the articles on the link that I posted before. If you have a toddler, you should have talked to your doctor about it closer to three years ago, but you could still talk about it now in case you ever have another baby.

Breast milk is healthier for babies than formula. It's not a matter of opinion; it's something that doctors and even formula companies agree on. Not every formula fed baby is going to be sickly, of course. But formula fed babies are far more likely to get sick than babies who are fed breast milk, so why risk it? You definitely took a chance with your baby's health by denying her breast milk. If your doctor didn't make that clear, I'd definitely recommend getting a new doctor.

Well I dont really care about the debate
Is it better for her yes!
Did I wanna do it yes and now
Did i really wanna risk after a c-section to pump morpheine and percoet down her throat because I was taking them to control my pain that drove me insane.. No
Do i regret it yes and now but i didnt even have any milk come out till like a week later so in a way she would of lost weight anyway..

so i dont regret my choice I was well informed and did my research but I didnt wanna pump her with drugs I was taking more then she had from when I had to have the surgery.

ANY WAY
The doctor thought the vomit and lactose problem weird and we decided milk has way to much lactose in it for her little system to process so we got her on Lactaid which is a lactose free milk. I look at it and they have it in whole milk so she will be getting as much of the fat as possible just a little less.. and after one day so far so good.

I wasn't debating with you. My post was in response to SCRATCH-N-SNIFF. She said she didn't understand the difference between formula and breast milk. It sounds like she didn't give her baby breast milk simply because she didn't know how important it was. And it really stinks when babies pay the price for a parent's ignorance.

But if you couldn't give your baby your breast milk for medical reasons, that's not your fault.

Your average breast milk > formula > breast milk from a woman who's sick, on medication, etc.

That's what formula is for, so you shouldn't feel guilty or weird about it. And if you did your research, good for you. What bothers me is the women who don't ask their doctor questions, the women who don't do any research, the women who just assume formula is the way to go, and the doctors who don't take the time to explain things.

Good for you for keeping up on it and keeping in contact with your doctor. Good luck with the switch.
