whee Discuss what De-Loused means to you, or what you think the lyrics mean in this thread!

ZOMG! De-Loused in my opinion is a bit better then Frances becuase they songs aren't too seperated by the ambiance and becuase the songs feel more solid for some reason. But France's songs flow better than De-Loused's.

Yeah that's what I like about De-Loused. Frances the Mute can seem like one big song. I think Frances the Mute is still my favourite though, I don't know why. Maybe because they are a bit more coherent in their songs....

De-loused is my favourite TMV album. Has anyone got the story book which goes with it? It is really filled with Communist undertones wink

I have a copy of the original. My mother thinks I should sell it on ebay. She can keep her hands off.

I read the first few pages of the De-loused book the other day. And y'know what? I'm more confused. I think that is it the real thing, I got that link from wikipedia. But..who knows?

when i first started reading the book i'd have no idea what it was saying, but then i would read over what i had just read and it would become clearer.
at one point it started making perfect sense to me so i got a little concerned ._.
i got chills throughout it too. especially in the song lyrics for some reason.
and at the end i got all teary. it wasn't particularly sad but the story made me feel connected and sympathize a lot with cerpin taxt. i get attached too easily.
after reading it the album made a lot more sense and was even better. which is wonderful.

I love the fact that the lyrics are more like abstract poetry (which resembles abstract art, but I don't get abstract art lol). It's like... part of the meaning comes from the collections of sounds that the letters make... the changes that each additional word brings to the previous images... it's harsh sometimes but I love it. I guess it's hard to communicate eek
I actually treat both Deloused and Frances as whole pieces... it's like... just because something is jarring doesn't mean it's not one thing (for me). It's a great ride... I've never fully sat down with the story and tried to figure out "what it means" though - for me, art (especially anything in abstractions) is more powerful and interesting when it's a bit more subjective, you know? Not like "well this is my song about world peace and suffering babies". That's just my preference though smile
