Mawi Mai had woken up yet another morning tired and sore... And sick. As soon as she woke up she felt the feeling again, she quickly woke up Aapep and told him she was going for a walk then quickly rushed off and made her way to a bush.
She sighed softly before making her way toward the prides source of water, the lake, bending over and lapping up some water before looking down at her paws. Her belly was getting bigger, very big she didn't want to do much and this had been the furthest she wandered away from the den in a while. She knew Aapep was worried about her but she told him she would be fine and she was sure that she would be feeling better soon. But she didn't know what was wrong with her. But she was hoping the words that she told Aapep were true, she would be feeling better.
Could cubs be coming? That was one thought that went through her mind but she was more than certain, it wasn't it! It couldn't be it... She sighed softly before moving forward into the water, hearing her shakers silence themselves, she stopped and turned toward the shore lowering her head and letting the drum slip off of her neck and on to the ground gently before wading into the water, letting her belly rest in the water, it made her feel better, her muscles were less sore. Oh it was good, very good. She closed her eyes enjoying the feeling before leaning down some and lapping up some of the water once more.

It had taken a bit of time for Kirjava to get accustomed to the Pride. She remembered when her son took her around to show her all the highlights of the pride and she was scared stiff. She didn't know what to do or how to act, even though she kept on telling herself she had nothing to worry about.
As much as she had wanted to have her son with her, by her side, she didn't want to seem needy and cut into time he wanted to spend elsewhere. And that was why she was wandering the grounds along, trying to take everything in, this was all so new to her. The idea that this was home and her home had others lions within the pride.
Her eyes caught a familiar sight as she spotted Mawi. The corners of her mouth curled up slightly into a smile as she remembered the lioness. How could she not? Her son had a huge fancy on the lioness and as much as she didn't want to see either of her sons all grown up, he had made a good choice in Mawi. Just as Ravi did with his mate. As she had gotten closer she noticed the slightly plump figure of the female and it didn't take her longer than a split second to realize what that meant.
Elated, she called out to Mawi, "Mawi!"

Mawi was really into the sounds of the water around her. Focusing on it, enjoying the feeling of the cool water against her sore limbs and her stomach. Had she really been eating that much? She growled at the idea, that had to be it but sh wasn't eating THAT much. She huffed again, she was just glad that Aapep hadn't really said anything she was sure that he noticed, he was so sweet not saying anything.
Then the quick sound of an others voice startled her out of her skin. It took her a moment before she realized the voice was saying her name then it took her another second to realize who it was. Her mother-in-law. She looked up to the female so much, she was glad to have her as a mother-in-law she had heard of some of the 'stories' of them but she didn't think that Kirjava was horrible, not at all, no where near it.
"Hello there Kirjava!" She grinned widely at the female and did a quick bow, starting to wade toward the shore. "You nearly scared me out of my skin." She chuckled slightly, she didn't really want to get out of the water, it felt so good. She made her way toward the other female and nuzzled her before backing up some and sitting down in the water, flicking her tail around under the top hearing the water move around with her tail, making a quiet swishing sound that comforted her.

She returned the nuzzle gently as Kirjava kept her gaze on Mawi. With a look at the lioness she just shook her head, "I don't think Aapep would appreciate that if I did."
As the other lioness got comfortable, she couldn't help but wonder how far along Mawi was. She didn't appear to be so large, so this had to be recent by the look of things. Oh, her sneaky son. She'd have to have a talk with him too! All of this made the corners of her muzzle turn upwards, "How have you been, Mawi?" She paused, "I must say, I can see why Aapep has been attracted to the idea of a home to call his own. This whole place has such a warm air to it that it makes me feel at home too."

Mawi Mai giggled softly at Kirjava's answer to Mawi's comment. She couldn't help it, inside she was a cub. It showed some times her full of energy self. She couldn't stop herself from giggling at little things like that. "Ah. I hope he wouldn't appreciate that." She winked before nodding to the female. Oh she hoped that she didn't look very big, she didn't want the other female to think that she was some kind of gluten. Or wanted to mooch off of everyone else to get food. It worried her just a bit already.
Then her smile grew, but not at the question, what came after the question. It sounded like Kirjava was getting into the pride too, that made her happy. She was wondering what the female would get into, Singing, dancing... Any new member she was curious about. "It is a great place. Even while I was growing, when I got older and had the urge to wander I always made my way back." She grinned, looking down for a moment before looking up again quickly, just slightly nervous as she noticed the small bulge, but she dismissed it quickly.
"How about you? How have you been settling?"

At the question, a soft sigh escaped from Kirjava. "It's a big change, I'm still getting used to it. Some memories from the past are hard to get rid of. But this place has it's charm, I have to admit. I can see why Aapep feels so attached here," She paused briefly, "This is all so new to me, so it'll take some time. My paws itch to keep on moving, to keep being safe but I have to stop and tell myself that they'll never find me here. They'll never find Ravi at the ocean...that we're all safe now." It was hard to not think that her Firekin masters would stop searching for her and Ravi.
Now, she felt rather sly as she looked directly at Mawi, "Have Aapep and you spent time together? Has he been treating you well?" And then she grinned proudly, "I can't wait to see them all arrive, I wonder how far along you are till they're here." She wondered how long it'd take Mawi to realize what her meaning behind the words were.

Mawi Mai looked at Kirjava with a curious look as she sighed. She gave her a soft smile nodding as she listened. She looked down at her paws for the moment, she never knew what it was like to have to wander around to get away from others... "Yes, you're safe here." She smiled more before sitting up some. "I'm glad that you are settling though." She flashed a grin before smiling once more.
She looked around for a moment before she looked at Kirjava and smile. "Yes we have. I'm so glad to have him in the pride, I worried about him alot..." Her voice trailed for a moment. "Yes he is treating me well." Then she froze at her question. Her mind started to race for a moment she wasn't even that sure of what to say. Was she serious? Was that what was the matter. "What?" Was all that she could get out, her smile dissapearing and a confused look spread along her features.

Upon seeing the confused expression on Mawi's face, Kirjava couldn't help but to laugh gently. She took a few steps towards the female and moved her head close to her daughter-in-law as she whispered, "My dear, you are pregnant!" She took a step back and watched Mawi, curious to see what her expressions would be. It had never occured to her that she'd be the one telling Mawi she was expecting, but it was a time to celebrate.
Her tail flicked slightly as she looked at the lioness with a rather maternal look, "You're not too far along yet, but before you know it, there'll be little cubs surrounding you." She nodded, "I wonder if Aapep has figured it out yet or not..." She mused softly, had her son picked it up yet or not? She didn't know but would be glad to see Mawi bring the good news to him. "Just make sure you take it easy, you don't want to strain yourself and the cubs, Mawi. Just let me know what I can do to help and I will."

Mawi Mai blinked a bit as her mother-in-law got closer, and what she whispered, oh god! Her mind started racing right away. She wasn't that sure of what to say. At first her face was blank, just thinking, she when, how? Err well she knew those but thats all her mind could give her before a small smile grew on her stomach, it explained a lot thats for sure. Her mind drifted to the idea of being able to have cubs of her own to teach and care about. Oh what an adventure was coming for her!
She smiled at Kirjava, "I'm not sure if he had." She chuckled softly looking down at her stomach before she looked up again, a purr escaping her maw before she nuzzled the female in front of her. "Thank you so much for telling me, and for the offering of help. I think I might take you up on that." She chuckled softly, she wasn't that sure of how she was going to do this with out her mom around so much to help she was glad that Kir was here though.
"Wow. I'm not even that sure of what to say." She laughed slightly at herself. She was overjoyed but wasn't even that sure of how to show it.

It was nice to see how speechless Mawi was. This was a joyous time, and just as well, Kirjava got to bring the good news to the lioness. "I get to see my little grandcubs!" She was all excited about that.
"Don't worry if you feel like eating a whole lot or resting for the whole day. It's natural," She paused, "I'm not too sure how your customs work with the arrival of new cubs, since I've never seen or witnessed this before in a pride. It's always been in the rogue lands..." Her voice trailed off softly, except for Ravi, that was. "I hope you have plenty of little cubs to keep you busy. I know Aapep will be thrilled! Having cubs is such a life-chaning experience."

Mawi Mai giggled then nodded to Kirjava, sitting up some then looking back at her stomach. "Of course!" She giggled nodding to her. "You get to see them as much as you can. You're part of this family." She grinned at the lioness standing up and nuzzling her, she was glad that she was here, glad that she decided to go with Aapep and live here in the small pride.
She nodded to the lionesses advice. "Thank you. I'll keep that in mind." She giggled some before she smiled at the lioness. "There are a few traditions but I'm not even that sure of how they work." She laughed softly, there wasn't that many lionesses around, well there was, but none that really planned having cubs, some times they were more of flings (as herself) or they were last minute things. She looked up at the lioness and then chuckled. "I look forward to them."
She nuzzled the female again, the smile on her maw growing even more. "Thank you again Kirjava." She licked the other lionesses muzzle before looking toward the dens. "I'm gonna head back, tell Aapep." She nodded before looking at Kirjava again. "I'll defiantly see you around."

With a nuzzle back to Mawi, Kirjava couldn't wait to hear the news from her son once he had found out. She smiled gently, "I look forward to his reaction then." A soft purr escaped from her as she watched the other lioness wander off before a feeling of nostalgia washed over her. What she wouldn't give to have all her family with her.
Her ears drooped slightly at the thought of her sister. How much longer would it be before she was with her sister once again? She shook those dreadful thoughts away, they were for another time...the time that she knew was coming. Crimson eyes flickered at the retreating of Mawi before she turned to wander off. Lost in her own thoughts and memories of the past.
