Utatu Pride - Zelda-based Pride - Open for Posting

**Note**
The pride is mostly based on concepts from The Legend of Zelda. If you’re not familiar with the games or story it’s not a big deal. We just figured it would be an interesting concept to play around with. Any input/feedback would be greatly appreciated. The pride’s a far shot from being official. We’re planning on obtaining a few characters and customing a few characters for contests and what not. We just badly needed a solution to all the former Mistweavers/those who won't accept the new ways of the pride and the stubborn disbanded firekin. XD

Also, the pride's a long way from becoming official. We decided to gather interest, custom for the fc's and gather suggestions for future plots (we lurv our plottinz) so we had a good foundation to build off of.

Pride Basics:

Pride name: Utatu
Meaning: “Trinity”
Location: Ngorongoro Crater | Wikipedia Article
History:
An isolated land, the lions of the Ngorongoro slowly began to die off, not because of the lack of resources, but for the lack of new blood to their pride. The last seer of the pride foretold the unity of the three elements of creation- fire, water, and earth -to breathe new life into their pride. The remaining pride members began offering tributes to the gods of the three holy elements, praying that the seer's vision would become reality.
Culture:
The Utatu consists of three tribes and the keepers of the land, otherwise known as the sages. The sages are, in essence the keepers of peace between tribes. The sages are in charge of offering tributes to the gods and goddesses, protecting the pride's treasures, and overseeing the unity festival that marks the year's beginning.

The sages (6 in all) serve under the high king and his line. In recent days, the royal line has dwindled to an elderly king and his only daughter.

Royal Line:
- King: (N/A) Will be a customed cosplay of the King of Red Lions. He'll be given away in the form of an rp event.
- Princess: (N/A) Will be a customed cosplay of Zelda. She’ll be given away in the form of an rp event.

The six sages:
There can be only six at a time, one for each element. The sages are restricted to lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Each of these positions can be either customed into or filled with an existing soa. However, the soa’s should be old members of the pride. We do ask that the colors/patterns fit the theme of the element. Also, Sages can not take a mate or breed while serving as a sage. They're essentially the monks of the pride and dedicate themselves only to their duty and their ruler. If they decide they want to take a mate and/or breed, they have to surrender their title and the pride or other sages will select their successor.

Holy Guards:
Holy guards are servants to the sages and the royal line. They protect the holy grounds (the territory reserved to the sages and the royal line) and the members of the royal family. There is no species restriction for holy guards.

The Territory:


- Sages & Royals: (Yellow area)
The sacred ground stands in a small island connected by a land bridge just through the middle of the crater’s lake. Only the royals are allowed to dwell on the small island. The sages and their guard live in their appointed territory which boarders the territory of the three main tribes. Here they oversee the three tribes and ensure peace between them. The middle ground opens up to the three tribes for festivals, ceremonies, and the great games.
- Earth Tribe: (Green area)
The earth tribe lives primarily on the planes. They share the water of the lake when their small water-holes dry up during the dry season. The lions sleep in the open, taking shelter only under trees when necessary. Their land boarders both the water and fire tribe’s lands allowing them to keep a good distance between the two rivals and further the effort to ensure peace.
- Water Tribe: (Blue Area)
The water tribe’s territory boarders the lake and the earth tribe. Their land backed up by the crater’s walls offers them caves similar to those of their ancestral lands. While they lack a jungle, they have the most tree cover.
- Fire Tribe: (Red Area)
The fire tribe boarders both the lake and the earth tribe. While their territory is far from the intensity of the desert, their territory is the driest and lacks any cover from the sun apart from the crater’s walls.

History:
After the firekin rebellion, the traditionalists fought to survive on the boarder of their former kingdom. As hope and ambition faded among the traditionalists, many began to disperse into surrounding prides. Older members began passing away, and life became a daily struggle. Finally, Finar-Si ordered the disbanding of the once proud firekin. Many complied, but a few saw the goddess' command as an insult. Driven from the desert by their kin and their former goddess, what remained of the traditional firekin found their way into the Ngorongoro Crater.
Culture Standards:
- Unfortunately for the fire tribe, slavery was a concept refused by the sages. A small sacrifice for a haven.
- While the fire tribe has become more open to breeding with outsiders, they absolutely refuse to allow any member to breed with the earth or the water tribe.
- Cubs are taught to fight as soon as they're able to walk on their own. The tribe prides themselves on their power and prowess on the battlefield.
- As the strong arm of the pride, the Fire Tribe is responsible for the protection of the pride. Driving away enemies and checking any strangers attempting to come into the land.
Tribe Standards:
- As of right now, the Fire Tribe accepts only lions into their ranks. This may change over time.
- The fire tribe still holds its disgust with any creature bearing a cool-colored coat. Blues and grays especially. They tend to really only accept individuals with the crimson, orange, yellow, or black coats of their once proud bloodline.
Pride Ranks:
- Chief: ( ??? - honey.roasted.ferrets )
The undisputed leader of the pride. The chief answers only to the sages and the high king or queen- if they feel compliant.
- Heir(ess):
The named successor of the tribe. Usually the most powerful of the Chief's litter.
- Prince(ess):
Any offspring of the Chief.
- Lord/Lady:
Any siblings of the chief.
- Captain:
The chief warrior. He/She is in charge of training the youths of the pride into future warriors to serve under him/her. He/She reports to the sages with the progress of their warriors and, if need be, they deploy warriors to defend the pride on the High King's command.
- Warrior:
The defenders not only of the tribe, but of the entire pride.
- Hunter/Huntress:
These individuals are sent to aid the earth tribe's hunters and return with the tribe's share of the day's kills.
- Youth:
Younglings of the pride, they normally don't begin their training until they reach juvenile age.

Siasa'busara - Goddess of Wisdom (Vashtya)
History:
Having weathered a plague, a rogue of invasion, and a drought, the survivors of the Mistweavers dwindled to only five males and a handful of weary cubs. When Masika, the daughter of the last Mistweaver king, returned with a few former members and an outsider, only Maji, Obi, and Kisulisuli resisted the queen's rule. Maji, labeled the b*****d prince, put up a short fight against the queen's rule and her new way of ruling the pride. Maji fled the lands after Mwali, a firekin lord, invaded the lands to take a new slave. Maji, unfortunately, stood in his way. Injured and disgraced, Maji was found by Eyal of the En Gedi, nursed to health, and taught how to survive on his own. He left En Gedi to seek out the scattered mistweavers that had fled the drought. He found himself, instead, in the Crater.
Culture Standards:
- The Water Tribe values wisdom above all else. Cubs are taught from the time they're able to walk how to read and write.
- The Water Tribe is perhaps the most innovative of the tribes, they offer their services by creating crafts for the three tribes, plotting out hunting formations, and mapping out the seasons to better prepare the pride for times of scarcity.
- While the water tribe is growing more accepting of taking outsiders as their mates, they refuse to breed with any of the other prides. They have a color bias to blues, whites, grays, and blacks. Reds, yellows, pinks, and oranges are colors they tend to avoid in seeking out mates.
- Because of their background, the Water Tribe has become hesitant to select a female as its leader or successor. They believe their ancestral pride was first tricked by, then corrupted by females in positions of power.
Tribe Standards:
- The water tribe is accepting to all feline races. They're still a bit wary of hyenas and wild dogs- but that may change in time.
- The water tribe has no tolerance for anything with a red, orange, or yellow coat. They're more likely to accept members with coats of blue, gray, white, or black.
Pride Ranks:
- Chief: ( Maji - Thalion )
The leader of the tribe. They answer only to the sages and the high king and his line.
- Heir:
The named successor of the tribe. Usually the wisest of the chief's first litter.
- Prince(ess):
Any offspring of the Chief.
- Lord/Lady:
Any siblings of the chief.
- Chief Scribe:
The keeper of the pride's written records and the mentor to the young members of the pride. They're in charge of teaching all the members how to read and write. The chief scribe also reports to the sages to present them with the records they've collected.
- Scribe/poet:
Scribes and poets work between all three prides to take note of the pride's members, history, songs, and tales. They work under the chief scribe.
- Hunter/Huntress:
These individuals are sent to aid the earth tribe's hunters and return with the tribe's share of the day's kills.
- Youth:
Younglings of the pride, they normally don't begin their training until they reach juvenile age.

History:

Culture Standards:
- The earth tribe is in charge of hunting for the pride. They will often consort with the Water Tribe for tactics going into the hunt.
- The Earth tribe impresses a strong sense of morality into all their cubs as they grow.
- The earth tribe purposefully positioned their territory between that of the water and fire tribe to further help keep the peace between the two rival tribes. While conflict is uncommon, the earth tribe is the first to react to unruly conduct.
Tribe Standards:
- The earth tribe is accepting of all species!
- The earth tribe really only has reservations against unnatural colors such as pink, purple, and neons. They're generally earth-tones. Browns, rusty reds, grays, earthy yellows, and tans seem to be the norm. Green, however, is a highly respected color.
Pride Ranks:

The leader of the tribe. They answer only to the sages and the high king and his line.
- Heir(ess):
The named successor of the tribe. Usually the wisest of the chief's first litter.
- Prince(ess):
Any offspring of the Chief.

- Head Hunter/Huntress:
The leader of the large hunting party composed of the three tribes. They lead the hunting party about every other day on a hunt to bring down at least four kills. One for each tribe and one for the sages and royals. The head hunter/huntress is in charge of training the young how to hunt.
- Guards:
The guards stand at the boarder of either the fire tribe or the water tribe to ensure that neither is crossing into the other's boarder. Any suspicious activity from either tribe is immediately reported to the chief of the tribe.
- Hunter/Huntress:
The earth tribe makes up the bulk of the hunting party. The hunters/huntresses are charged with providing for the pride.
- Youth:
Younglings of the pride, they normally don't begin their training until they reach juvenile age.

Kibwe'nkosana | Pink Myth
Not to long ago Kibwe meet and fall in love with a older lioness. He loved her very much and clung to her with a loyalty and devotion. He never left her side till one more he woke up and she was gone missing. He wandered around for time till finally found her but she was different she was no longer the princess he had known. So now he searches for a home to where he can call his own and devote his time to anything but his own life not wanting to feel the pain. He still loves her however thus is the reason his is not leaving the area to far. Handsome little devil who thinks of himself as a prince. Course never realizes that he is in fact not a prince at all. He treats other with the uttermost respect unless proven to be treated otherwise.

Pilate | Chibi Chocobo
Pilate, until recently, was a wander around the plains. She has no real biological family that she is close too, only her adopted lion sister. She still has a small problem of wandering off here and there but most of it is her youthful hunger for adventure. Pilates a sweet girl. She gets excited meeting new creatures and is some what of a glutton when she has the chance. Food drives her mostly.

The "b*****d Prince" of the Mistweavers, Maji grew up alongside a handful of lions who came to see him as their leader. He knows the written language of the Mistweavers and has shared it with former members of his old pride, those of En Gedi, and those of his pride.

His mother was weakened when she came to the boarders of the Mistweavers. Trusting a faint hope that the inhabitants of the mysterious valley would have mercy, she left her young cub at their boarders and vanished. Obi was quickly adopted by Maji after being found during a routine patrol of the boarder. Obi was taught to read and write as well as some combat from other members of the pride. When Maji vanished shortly after Masika's arrival, Obi soon left in search of him.

Want to Join?
We're open to pretty much anyone! The 'exclusive' ranks (Like royals, sages, captain, chief scribe, and the head hunter/huntress) will require a character that each tribe owner (or in the case of the royals and sages- all three of us) decides will fit into the roll. We're also very, very, very open to any plot suggestions for later down the line. It can be a brewing pride rivalry, an invasion, etc. Just no over-doing the "Forbidden Lurvz" kind of thing. XD It's not as awesome when everyone's doing it.

Background: He doesn't have one, really. The only thing that comes with Tutubi, is his best friend, Kapriso. So really anything you want him to be, he can be it.
Personality: He's a very whimsical kind of guy, really sweet and easy going. Just kind of lets life be life and he enjoys it. He's an advice giver and doesn't like to choose sides.
Potential Plot Suggestions? I got nothing. He's a shell of a character. Fill in the shell! <3

Background: He has none. I got him as a custom a LONG LONG time ago just never did anything with him.
Personality: Calm and understanding, Isi is just one of those guys who takes things as they come and doesn't worry unnecessarily. He will lend a helping paw to anyone who needs it and will even go out of his way to do it. He's not one for settling down with a mate. Not yet anyway. Life has far too much to offer for him right now and he feels that he has to much contribute to the world before he settles with a mate.
Potential Plot Suggestions? Nothing I can think of right now.

Background: Long ago, Kipaji was a member of what remained of the Earth tribe, holding the rank of a Hunter. In his younger days he was known for his skills in the hunt, but this made him arrogant and head-strong, and skewed his perception of the definition of "courage". After a particularly successful kill on day, in the peak of his smugness, he was dared by an irritated fellow hunter to leave the crater that night, make a kill at least twice his own size, and bring it back to them. Kipaji accepted the challenge, and that night set off. However, when a young lioness he has known since childhood, who held a secret love for him, found out about this, she took off after him in fear that he may never return.
But before Kipaji could reach the crater's edge, a violent storm broke out, forcing him to seek shelter for the night. When morning came and he returned to the tribe, he expected to be taunted for his failure in completeing the dare, but instead found that his female friend, who he cared for deeply, never returned that night.
She was never seen again. Ridden with guilt and the pain of not knowing her fate, Kipaji took up the rank of guard and spent much of his time deep in thought. His arrogance soon vanished, and he came to realize that courage is not the absence of fear, but rather, having the ability to persevere despite whatever fear one may feel.
His past made it all the more shocking to him when he was named the Sage of Earth. He accepted the role, eager to use his life to make up for his past actions, and better the life of his pride in whatever way he could. It was only then that his true personality came out into the open for all to see.
Personality: Despite his enormous size and strength, Kipaji is deep down a big teddy bear; a side that he has no hesitation in showing those close to him. Despite never having any of his own, he absolutely loves children and is always willing to give up his time to spend helping or teaching them, despite his rank as a sage.
One thing about Kipaji that has never changed over the years is the impression he sometimes gives of being rash. But now this is due to his experience, and not arrogance.
Potential Plot Suggestions? I'd be fine with having his past come back to haunt him, or something like that. Really, I'm fine with anything that doesn't involve Kipaji being killed. XD

Zelda Cosplay Ideas:
- The Zora are a race of aquatic beings from the Zelda games. They'd fit well into the water tribe. OOT Zora | Twilight Princess Zora | Prince Ralis - TP |
- The Gorons are a race of rock-eating beings from the Zelda games. They live around and inside the volcano. They'd fit well into the fire tribe. Twilight Princess Goron
- The Kokari are a race of forest-dwelling children from the Zelda games. They'd fit well into the earth tribe.
- Midna, to our knowlege, doesn't have an SOA cosplay yet. She'd make a fun addition. >3 Human Form
- Zaint would be another fun addition. Good baddie plot potential.
- Ganondorf would also make a fun addition and pose good plot potential. Maybe in his beast form?
