Isoflurane canisters are used primarily becuase Tear Gas and pepper spray can lead to long term damage and exposure, as well as increased lethality in extremely effective amounts, and illegal in warfare. However, isoflurane contributes to the over-all nuetralization of a group of people without the irritation, and is used as an anesthetic. It's more or less puts the affected individuals to sleep and makes them over-all weaker with low physical side effects. Though it's reacting time is relativity low (10 minutes for full action) it stays within the body for extended periods of time, meaning that the affected person/persons will be out for an extended period of time. It as well begins to disorient nearly immediately, and will cause the lowering of physical and mental stimuli quickly and thereby effectively neutralize all threats even before the affected person is asleep.

Isoflurane Characteristics

Isoflurane binds to GABA receptors, glutamate receptors and glycine receptors, and also inhibits conduction in activated potassium channels. Glycine inhibition helps to inhibit motor function, while bonding to glutamate receptors mimics the effects of NMDA. It activates calcium ATPase through an increase in membrane fluidity, and binds to the D subunit of ATP synthase and NADH dehydrogenase. It as well is a liquid at room temperature, however quickly vaporizes when exposed to pure air, allowing it to be transported and administered quickly and effectively without little problems. It as well causes very few lasting side effects, and does not appear to cause many health problems when used, and though less effective then some more powerful anesthetics, it has very few long lasting adverse effects, if any, and lasts much longer than most anesthetics.

General Action

Compressed air is stored within the device, and as well the material is compressed itself. When the pin is pulled, a small spring slowly pulls back (3 to 5 seconds) and then releases the edges of container. When the container is released, or in more accurate terms "opened", the tube of compressed air, which is all linked together with the side pieces, quite literally falls apart and then releases the compressed air in an outward motion. The little bits of liquid are then exposed to a high amount of air via the high surface area comparatively to it's mass, rapidly spreading these particles across the room and causing them to vaporize quicly, not only spreading the gas about the room by the action of the compressed air shooting it about but as well becuase the actual liquid itself vaporizes and thereby forms a continuous vaporization of the material, spreading it even further.
