 The large black stripped female rex yawned in the sun, tail swishing lightly as she listened to the sound of clucking chickens. Letting out a low yawning growl as she stretched her tiny arms and long legs out, tail sweeping over the grass sending a stray chicken flying as she went in search of water, the day had just starded and she was thirsty..

Anything I say will be posed in Green. I will leave Zydrate black cause it is easier that way. Zydrate blinked slowly and peered out from where he had spent the night beneath the cover of the forest. He was not yet used to the stables with most of the other rexes. He didn't like that much company all at once, especially male company. He decided it was time to get up and find some food, but he was still tired. He rose slowly to his feet walked to the edge of the forest. He was still getting used to the lay of the land but most of it was open so it was easy to see. He headed out of the forest in the direction of the only water he had seen since being placed on the ranch. It was small and in the middle of no where and he only knew its location because he had woken up next to it on his first day, when he came out of his drugged sleep. He headed east toward the water, hopefully he would find some food on the way. Water attracted food, and even a stray chicken would be welcome no matter how small it was.

Demora bent down to drink, large pink tongue lapping up the water, drops drizzling down past her muzzle and large sharp teeth as she lifted her head cautiously every now and then, keeping a look out just in case. Knowing that she was not the only large predator on the island, the spinosaurus and the raptors in numbers could cause even an elder rex problems.
Nostrils flaring as she picked up a scent on the breeze, cocking her head curiously and listening for the tell tale sounds of heavy footsteps..Though she could not see who it was yet she could tell there was another rex about, somewhere close by, and being the way she was she tended to avoid other rexes.
It was simply the way she was raised, and ever since she'd found herself on this island that was how she'd acted, alone. It was easier to hunt alone, easier to take care of herself, even if it became lonely at times, she had always been used to being self sufficient.

Zydrate was nearing the watering hole, it was only a mile or so off now when he suddenly stopped. His keen blue eyes saw a large black shape in the distance in the location of the water. He had only seen only one other rex since being on the ranch; but it had not looked anything like him. A long slender mouth and a large frill down its back. Zydrate had stayed well away from it for it was very intimidating and even a pack of raptors had run from it. The shape he saw at the water did not have the same profile and so he started forward again with a firm gait. If it was one of those strange rexes he wanted to seem strong, self-confident, and predatorial. Instead of week, or new. Best to start dominance now instead of being pushed around.
He got closer keeping close watch of his surrounding as he went. It was open in almost every direction so there was plenty of room to run if needed. Zydrate had always erred on the side of caution around other rexes... well the males at least. His attitude tended to anger other males for Zydrate like messing with their minds. Females were different, he enjoyed their company for they seemed to understand him better and they did not get angry at his jibes as other males did. All they wanted was to fight.
At about 1,000 yards he could see the rex clearly. It was a large black female with white stripes. Very outstanding against the green and brown grassland behind her. She was drinking but he could tell she knew he was there. The females were always so much more alert and wary. He was wise enough not to approach her from behind but continued heading for the water from her left flank. He slowed to a walk as he got closer moving slowly not wanting to provoker her in any way; especially if she had claimed this area for her hunting area.
Zydrate came to the edge of the water and dipped his head and drank, keeping an eye on the stunning black female the he could was watching him. The water was wonderful on his dry throat. When he finished he lifted his head and looked at her.
"I hope I am not imposing on your lands" Zydrate said in a low but slightly musically seductive voice" He had always been pleased with the sound of his voice, and most ladies agreed.
((I know this is a lot but I am gonna be super busy with homework and test this next week. I will probably not have time to do anything till the following week. So I wanted to give you plenty to work with.))

Dark eyes scanned the approaching males form, a slight smile ticking at her reptilian lips as she stepped closer to the waters edge, huffing out a low growl in greeting when the male approached, the designs etched across his skin instantly drawing her attention, the bright patterns standing out so well..he was like her in a sense. She actually found her self liking this male, though she had no clue he was had never met him, tending to keep to herself, he just had this air about him.
Her gaze following the male pinned on him as he passed close, giving him a slight nod, really his presence didnt bother her, something that was startling, normally she hated intruders..this lake was not in her territory really more of a group watering hole still she often disliked drinking near others, "Hardly, kee don't worry this territory is not mine" demora smiled slowly, glancing away when she felt comfortable with his presence to take in a few more large gulps of the cooling liquid, his voice was sweet and melodic, absolutely beautiful. Just thinking of hearing him speak again made her want to strike up a conversation. Her own voice tended to be deep and resonating, had a bit of a craggy sound to it, shed never found it pleasant to listen to herself talk..
"Where do you come from hmm..No pack to run with?" most rex's didnt travel alone, not if they had a pack of course..this male almost seemed new though, smelled new. Daring to move closer, head dipped slightly low so her size would not be too imposing..

Zydrate was slightly startled by the females reaction. Her voice was deep and rough but it had a certain soothing quality. Like listening to your own heartbeat, or heavy breathing. He was used to being treated with arrogance or superiority by most other rexes. Not because they didn't like him but because he was new. "Thank you for allowing me to drink" he said after quenching his thirst for a few minutes. "As for your question where I came from is a little hazy, I awoke 3 days ago a little ways from this pool. I have no pack though I remember I have never had one, I have preferred to keep to myself and only associate with those I wish to. Those that enjoy my company in return." Zydrate noticed that the female was not being domineering or overbearing. Not trying to assert her authority over him and this pleased him. She was being cordial and he knew she was curious about him. Most rexes were to a certain extent. Although most males just thought he was trying to get in with the ladies..... which he probably was.
"And you? Do you have no pack either? No friends or relatives to accompany you? I know this pool is a long way from everything..... Ah but I am being rude, I am Zydrate. Who might I ask are you dark one?

"No need to thank me" though really she did like the respect, it was odd to meet a male with so little ego, usually they were rather pompous strutting things. This one seemed to have a bit of a different attitude. The female licked her chops, large front talons digging shallow little groves in the earth as she listened to his brief story, it all made so much more sense now. "Ahh, so thats how it is cree your new here, that's good to know. Hopefully you'll manage to stay the way you are, feh you'll do better without a pack" another loner like herself, at least a more friendly version, this one seemed open minded kind but also cold, very interesting.
"No, I prefer to not have one, more food more time to myself. Less competition to deal with if your working for one" she nodded gruffly "I came here on my own and thats how I've stayed, relatives would be interesting, but I dont believe I have any brothers or sisters" she shrugged in her own way, tilting her head as the male introduced himself. "Zydrate eh, well zydrate for now as far as your concerned I'm the dark one. Maybe if I we manage to enjoy each others company I'll give you my name" she grinned slowly as she said this, an almost playful expression on her face. She had always enjoyed games, and she wasnt about to let this male simply wander off not when she could keep him around a bit longer even if it was only out of curiosity.

Zydrate looked at the female with more respect than he had before. Women could be domineering and will full. This one was respectful and kind to a measure. "Well then my Dark Lady," He said as he moved closer and stood facing her. "I thank you for the use of your watering hole and this stimulating conversation. I do have one more question to ask you though." He smiled at her warmly, "where are the best hunting grounds that I may make use of? And if I might be so bold, would you care to join me? I'm sure my Dark Lady that you know of the surrounding area and are quite adept at the hunt if you normally keep your own company."
Zydrate wished to get to know this mysterious "Dark Lady" better. If only to learn her name. He did have to admit that he was attracted to her power, intellect, but mostly to her do it on her own personality.

A small pleasant shiver traveled up demoras spine as the bright male called her a 'dark lady' she'd never been treated so well, most males were...well disrespectful curs, at least in her own opinon. This one actually had some class to him though! How...how refreshing.."Your very welcome my dear zydrate, you can use it whenever you wish, heh with you I don't mind sharing so much" Massive tail shifting and curling slightly as he spoke, a wide toothy grin spreading across her face at the mention of hunting...
Well it was past breakfast time wasnt it? "The best hunting grounds, sadly aren't mine, I know a nice spot though. Where we might be able to track down some goats, heh if were lucky a bull cow.." nodding sharply in agreement, her spirits rising as the male so kindly stroked her ego. "I know the area well enough..and..you could say I'm a good hunter. Haha you don't have to, but you certainly could! Come on then my dear companion, lets go find us some nice breakfast, I'm starving anyways" she shrugged, her eyes bright with mirth. It did wonders for her being complimented like that, she could scarcely understand it. She wasnt overly beautiful or anything..
