Yugure stood upon a grassy knoll as he gazed out over the open grassy meadow filled with lightly scented wildflowers. He breathed in deeply and let it out in a sigh. Sure he was content. For the longest time he had been alone til the day he'd found a abandoned egg hidden among the crocus'. The color of the flowers had hidden the egg well for it match them in color.
Now he watched as his grown "son", 'Ano'i pua, grazed quietly among the tall grasses and wild flowers. Yugure felt he did a decent job of raising the young colt into a fine stallion. And was even proud of him. Pua showed much potential as a scout stallion for the herd he would like to have one day.
Soon it would be time to scout for mares willing to join their herd. At least three would do for now. Maybe four. As it was only himself and his foster son they'd have to keep the numbers light when rut came and they'd have to protect those females from being taken from them.

'Ano'i pua looked up at his surrogate father as he chewed the sweet grass. He was in a way glad that Yugure had found him instead of being left to fend for himself. The world seemed less lonely. Though now a young stallion he felt that with him and Yugure they'd need to add something. His father had made mention that rut would soon be upon them and they would need a few mares to start a small herd. And also some territory large enough for them. Pua was slightly worried about this as it was just the two of them for now. He would like to meet another stallion closer in age to himself to possibly help Yugure out in claiming some land and mares.
He sighed and tossed his head sending his mane rippling down his back. He'd love to have a pretty mare for himself one day. He knew that Yugure would make sure that he had enough mares to share with the stallions in his herd.
It was just a matter of time.

Kiyomi was resting not far away, she had been watching the males for sometime. And she wondered if they were related or if perhaps they were just friends. Though she wasn’t entirely sure, they seemed friendly enough.
Kiyomi had no family of her own and no herd, her whole life she had lived on her own so she didn’t trust many of any Kirin that she met, not that she had met many Kirins in her life so far anyway.
Sighing deeply she continued watching the males, wondering if she should try approaching them. They didn’t appear aggressive but there were two of them and only one of her. Her tail swished about as she added up the pros and cons of the situation, until eventually she stood, and made her way cautiously over to the two stallions.

Yugari tossed her head, rather annoyed with herself. Normally, the mare never got lost. Never. The mare had managed to work herself into such a fluster, that she didn't notice the young purple stallion until she had almost ran him over.. She skidded to a halt, just in time. "Oh.. Sorry.. I didn't mean to.." Yugari fumbled slightly for her words, ears still pinned with self annoyance..

Pua startled and hopped backwards a couple times and just stared at the pretty blue mare for a moment with wide eyes. "Oh!" he blinked and then stood up straighter. "No it's alright....are you alright? You look a bit out of sorts." His ears flicked forward with interest.
Yugure watched this from his perch and just chuckled to himself soon noticing movement out of the corn of his eye. Apparently he hadn't noticed there was another mare not far off from their position in the meadow and he grinned to himself. "Well well what we have here," he murmured to himself as he got to his feet and trotted over towards Kiyomi. "Greetings," he called to her.

“Oh, hello there!” she trotted over to the blue stallion and bowed her head politely, then, tossing her mane out of her eyes, she smiled “I couldn’t help but notice the two of you grazing over here…” it was at this point that she noticed the other mare who had joined the purple stallion, “I mean three of you…” she really wasn’t sure what she was supposed to say to him as she hadn’t had many conversations in her life, other then with the plants and birds, “Erm, it’s a nice day today isn’t it?”

Yugari shook her head, taking a breath to make herself relax. Things happened for a reason after all, and perhaps that was why she'd gotten lost.. It wasn't a great assurance, but it let Yugari think that she hadn't gotten lost of her own carelessness.. "Oh, no, I'm fine.." A gentle smile curved to her face, "A bit lost, to tell the truth, but fine." Yugari had spent all of her life on the same territory. Her mother and father had been lifemates with none but themselves, and then Yugari. Time had taken them, as it does all things, but she had been old enough to defend the territory on her own when the two passed in their sleep, and had done so ever since...Until now, of course, when she'd managed to stray..

Yugure looked over the lovely blue and white mare before tossing a glance over his shoulder towards his "foster" son who was chatting up another lovely blue mare. He grinned at the mare in front of him, "Why it is a nice day today, especially with you here now. I'm Yugure, what is your name?"
Pua smiled at the lovely mare. "Well I'm glad to hear that you are fine my dear, but being lost is never a fun thing. Do you need some help finding your way back? Or would you care to hang out with us for little bit?" he nodded towards Yugure who was in a conversation with another mare. "Oh where are my manners? I'm Pua which is short for 'Ano'i Pua. That's Yugure over there. What's your name?"
