2012 is the year of the polar reversal and several other things. Do you think the rapture will occur during year 2012?
What's your take on this subject?

No.
The Bible says no-one knows when the end of the world's going to happen, not even Jesus. And where does the Bible even mention the rapture? (Serious question, not an accusation)
Anyway, look for my 'It Might Be Today' topic. You should be living like Jesus is returning right away. It doesn't matter when He's comming, because our knowing about it isn't going to speed Him up one second.

There is a rapture in Revelations, but the idea of pre-apocolyptic (like in the Left Behind series) was made by a woman in New England (I think Maryland, but I'm not sure) shortly after colonial times. She was a member of the Puritan Church or some other church like that where the women wear bonnets and said god revealed it to her in a dream. I'm too lazy to give sources so google it 3nodding

Ah, so is it the bit about one being taken and one being left? And Christians rising to meet Jesus in the sky?

Yes, but it doesn't clearly say when that will occur. I have diligently prayed that it happens later rather than sooner because I want to try to help as many people and to expose them to God before it happens.

I know what you mean, people are praying that God will hurry up and end the world. How selfish is that?!?!?!?!?!?! The longer He waits, the more people will be saved.

Just as a note, Maryland is not in New England. It's in the middle of the east coast, while New England is to the north of that. It consists of Maine, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Conneticut, Vermont, and New Hampshire. The only colonial woman who I can think of that you may be talking about is Anne Huchinson, who lived in Massachusetts but left after people there called her a heretic. I believe she either moved to Rhode Island or to New Netherland, in present-day New York state.

When you mentioned Rhode Island, I thought, "Hey, I think that was it!" lol, I'm just too lazy to look it up >.<

Voldemort point two I know what you mean, people are praying that God will hurry up and end the world. How selfish is that?!?!?!?!?!?! The longer He waits, the more people will be saved. Not exactly. So far studies have shown that areas like Africa have been increasing in the Christian faith, but in Europe, America, and other areas more people have become secular humanists... It's quite sad...

Exactly. In Africa, people are being saved every day. No, everywhere, people are being saved every day. If Jesus had come again six years ago, I would be in Hell right now.

I was just commenting on how we were loosing more people than saving. ^_^; Though the people we lost would be considered to be those who stumbled and whatnot and will get saved anyways, because they believed before they left.
ANyways, ignore me... sweatdrop redface
