[img of the pretty red leopon here]
Firey colored eyes glittered as she stared at the animals crowding around the watering hole. It was mid afternoon, and it was quite the warm day. She had been keeping a good eye on the water, wanting it to clear out a bit before she actually went for her own drink.
When the zebras and larger game had cleared out, the little leopon made her way to the waters edge. Her crimson pelt, carried grey cloud markings around her legs. She looked like a little storm. Her full name Makhipa Luta, meaning crimson cloud.
Lowereing her head, she lapped at the water, before lifting her muzzle, letting the water drop and cascade down her chin.
Oh the great flavor of water.. She loved water, adn she loved to swim. But the fear of danger kept her from getting into these waters.

The fluffy black and white lion had desided to leave his sleeping rock to venture out mid-day towards the water. It was getting hot and he needed a drink. He felt as if he waited any longer that he himself probally would have shriveled up and died in the heat. So paw over paw he walked threw the prey animals, tail held high to show he wasn't in an 'eatting' mood. A few of them scattered by the rest just continued to graze and look at him from afar.
Finally he could see the pool infront of him. Maybe he would stop for a swim? The day was certainly hot enough for one.

Luta drank quickly, and then backed away from the water, plopping down, to clean her face and paws. She licked over her paws, drawing them to her face to wipe her face clean.
When she finally looked back up, she noticed a large framed lion walking towards the water.
She had begun to trust lions, knowing she was close to her pride lands and that she didnt have anything to worry about too much.
So she watched him get closer, observing him like any cat would.
She continued cleaning her paws, then moved on to her tail. The little leopon was finally teen, and she was getting bigger. Her mother had been lion, her father leopard. She lacked the fluff on her tail that her mother had, but she looked like her family in more ways than one.

What a strange creature that stood infront of him. He knew it couldn't be a lion- but then again she looked so similar to one. Was this one of those strange half-breeds that wandered the savannah? He did hear rumors that species had been interbreeding. He just never had actully met one before now.
He then padded up next to her. "So is this spot taken?" He blinked and watched her groom herself. She seamed to be missing a tail fluff if she was a lion.

She stood, standing a bit away from him, before placing herself into the sitting positiob again.
"Of course not, I do not own these lands." She said with a look. She looked over to the far tree line.
"My family does own those however." She said with a grin. "Thats when you'd have to ask permission. Watering holes are free game." She said with a nod.
She cocked her head, observing him a bit.
"My name is Makhipa Luta. But you can call me Luta I guess." The Leopon replied. Normally, she was a bit more personable, but Luta enjoyed the company of girls more than anything.

"Well thats great!" He said plunking his head into the water getting his face completly soaked. He didn't have much of a mind to drink it until he'd completly cooled himself off. Pulling his head out he then lapped it up with his tounge slowly looking rather odd with water beading off of him. "I'd probally swim- but I don't think anyone would be too happy drinking in it afterwards."
He made and aquward chuckle then went back to sinking his head into the cool waters.

She looked at him oddly with almost al ittle grin.
"Well, no.. But the crocodiles who live in there, probably would like it alot." She said, motioning with her muzzle that two of the beasts had risen their heads, and were watching the dunking of his head in the water.
Flicking her tail, she stood, stretching out her front legs.
"You know, its never a good idea to tempt a Croc. They may not be fast, but their jaws are like hell."
SHe nodded.
She had known a few who had fallen prey to them.

"I don't know-" He looked puzzled at the beasts in the water who seamed to be getting closer. "I think they might enjoy the game if I jumped in there...you know nothing like a tasty lion snack." He pulled his head out of the water just as one of the beasts snapped at his hairs. "You know I think thats enough water for me today..." He said jumping back and removing himself from there reach.
"Why don't we get out of here before they get lucky?" The croc then swam back to his friend quite disgrunted he wouldn't be eatting tonight.

She nodded. She was a bit bored, why not follow him a little ways. Mother and father had known she was getting much bigger. She did not have to worry about being chastised like a little cub.
"Sure." She said, her legs showing their cloudy markings. She was a pretty leopon, but she as completely sterile, and she was also.. well.. She was gay. She preferred Dogo, the female Jaguar. But this one could be okay to hang around with.
"So.. What is your name?" She asked.. He had never told her, even after introducing herself.

"Me?" He looked at her and stopped. "I'm Feleji. Rouge lion and adventurer." He grinned and then gave another half hazard look back at the crocs. Oh how he would have really liked to have taken a swim in there- oh well though. Maybe later.
"I'm sorry if I sound impolite asking you this...But you ARE a lion right?" He cocked his head still confused at her lack of a tail but lionlike body.

She giggled.
"Nice to meet you Feleji. Nice name." She commented, then looked at him when he asked if she was a lion.
She gave a little smile. "Yes.. and no." She flicked her non floofed tail and smiled.
"My mother is a lion.. My father was a leopard." She smiled once more, she was always a friendly girl.
"She called me a Leopon."

"Ah that would explain for the lack of tail fluff...I'm never met a half and half before. Only lions or Leopards. It's kind of a nice change really." He grinned at her. "So your family owns the territory over there- so you should know these like the back of your paw. Is there anything fun to do out here other then avoid crocodiles?"
He sighed again not being able to swim.

She smiled shaking her head.
"This place is dullsville. We train. We're demon hunters." She said with a nod.
She swore her mother had said that her own sister ran the demon pride.. But that was just too confusing to Luta at the moment.
"Half breeds are just the same. Only we dont have tail fluffs..and not as floofy." She said smiling.

He blinked having to run the words she said in her mind over and over again before the word 'demon' stuck. "Wha?" He asked in pure confusion at her. "Demons?" His bangs fell infront of his eyes. "What do you mean Demons?" Her conversation certianly got his attention.

She smiled, shaking her head. That was definately a conversation for a different day. She would be here all night explaining to him.
"Well, how about I tell you next time I see you." She said with a nod.
"I have some apprenticing to do with my pride. So Ill see you later, Feleji." She said with a happy smile.
She flicked her tail, and ran to the treeline, dissappearing into her pride.
