It had been a rainy day all day. Gryph didn't get much work done at all today. Which made him a little bum. Though his simple sparring with his old pal Raidel made up for it. Gryph was wearing his brown shirt that laced up in the front along with his black leather pants. His boots were kind of muddy from walking from his house to the tavern. He needed a drink and something to eat. He didn't feel like making anything tonight and he had a bit of money he had been saving up to get a meal. Gryph sat at the bar of the tavern and order some ale and something tasty to eat. Gryph brushed his blond hair to the right side of his face just to cover his scar.

Calypso was on the job once again, providing entertainment for the people of the tavern. She LOVED it! It made it even better that it was raining outside, the pattering of rain on the roof a welcome addition to the percussion. Grinning, she twirled round and round, her red-brown-and blue patched skirt flowing out around her as she moved, and her long red hair billowing the same way. It was almost the end of her shift, and the dancer was looking for some nice company to while away the moonlight hours. Well, it would have been the 'rainy hours' either way at the rate this storm was carrying on. Not that she minded - she was having a blast up here just doing her job! Talking to someone about whatever after work was done might make a nice end to the day. Or a beginning of the night. Whichever. She danced from the stage, to the floor, and continued on up a chair to one of the tables. The table that the newcomer happened to be sitting at. Whatever - all the tavern was her playground, and she was going to make use of it any way possible. Once the song ended, and she received a nod from the musicians, she hopped off the table, and sat down on the empty chair across from the stranger. Oh, she'd seen him here and there, on and off. But she didn't really KNOW him. Perhaps today was a chance to do so?
"Hello! I'm Calypso - a dancer here. Well, I also sing, but only on occasions that call for it. I noticed you come in from the rain, and thought to myself that you looked a little lonely. So... what's your name?"

Gryph watched the woman dance and play around as the music went on. He enjoyed her dancing. It was very nice and full of energy. The music was good too, though Gryph could tell one of the musicians was out of tune, but it didn't bother him too much. Gryph smiled though out the performance and it brought his spirits up from the rain that continued to go on outside. The pitter patter of the rain hitting the roof was a bit loud.
Gryph noticed the dancer came towards him after the music was over. He wonder what she wanted. Did he do something wrong to offend her. He took another sip of his ale nervously. Gryph then saw she pulled up a chair next to him. Gryph never had women come up to him before.
"um....ummm...Hello," he said in a somewhat shy manner. "I'm....I'm Gryph. Your dancing was very nice and enjoyable. " Gryph could tell this dancer could see through him about being lonely. He did live by himself. "I am a handyman and somewhat of a painter." The Sargtlin then brushed the back of his head with this hand and laughed nervously.

"A painter! Oh how wonderful! I dabble in that a bit myself, but I'm sure I'm nowhere near as good as you. Although, I don't get the chance to practice often, so I wouldn't be, would I? Anyway - I've seen you around before, but never really got the chance to say hi. Thank you for the compliment, though! It means a lot coming from one of the patrons! Of course, my manager says that sometimes too, and... Oh, I'm sorry. I'm talking too much again."
She giggled a bit, and crossed her arms before her on the table, blinking up at him and grinning. Calling over one of the servers, she ordered something for him and her, and told the woman to put it on her tab. Which had to be rather substantial about now.
"I DO hope you like what I ordered. You look as though you could use a hearty meal. On the other hand, so could I after that dance! Whew! Took everything right out of me! Made me a little dizzy, too. What about you? Do you dance, Gryph?"

"You're very welcome," said Gryph with a smile. "I often try to paint decent. I am somewhat good but not great. It took me a while just to be able to not miss the canvas. " Gryph lifted up his bangs and opened his eye. "But doing my best is what counts. Its okay to talk about your self. You probably don't get to since you are entertaining others. "
Gryph then blinked and wonder what she had order for them. He would pretty much eat anything as long as it didn't try to eat him first. "Hey if you want ...I mean if you ever have a free day I can help you try to paint a bit. Its totally up to you though. " Gryph took another drink of his ale. It was pretty good tonight for a rainy day.
"Me umm dance? I never really thought about it, nor have I tried before. It does look fun but I am afraid I might bump into someone or something," said Gryph.

Calypso grinned at the offer to learn how to paint better, and nodded.
"Oh I'd LOVE for you to show me how to improve!"
And as for the never danced... Well, she couldn't have that now, could she? So quickly did she pull the male to his feet that it would be surprising if he actually expected it. She motioned to the open spot on the floor in front of the stage as the music was picking up again. And what's more - Caly could hear Gryph's heartbeat. It made a very nice counter melody to the music. She started sashaying her hips as she talked and tried to pull him over to dance with her.
"Nonsense! Dancing is fun! Come on now - move those hips. You've got a nice pair of legs, so use them! C'mon! Like this, see?"
She showed him, by dancing a few steps forward, her hips still moving to the beat once she stopped.
"You try!"

"okay. if you want you can..." started to say Gryph as the women pulled him up by his right arm. He was a bit alarmed at this. "opffs" was he sound he made as he was being pulled up. Gryph followed her to the floor. He started to hear the music begin to play again. "Umm...okay,"said Gryph. He was sort of confused. He had never danced before. If he did it was when his mother was still alive and he was a small child. Gryph tried to move to the beat but his right side awkardly was off beat from the music. Gryph wasn't sure if he was going it right. He then stopped. "Yeah, I think pa was right to say I have two left feet," he said scratching the back of his feet. "Not really good am I. " Gryph thought to himself, 'Maybe I should pick up on dancing too. It might help me when I spar with Raidel.'

Caly giggled and shook her head, physically grabbed the man's hips, and swaying them side to side for him.
"Like this. Now, move those feet!"
She couldn't believe that he'd just GIVE UP after five seconds without even really trying. And she wasn't going to let him, either. She loved dancing so much, and she knew he would too, if he'd stop being stubborn and let the music take him. She knew he was being stubborn, though - she saw it in his movement, in his eyes. It might have been a good thing she couldn't hear his thoughts.
"Come on. Don't give up NOW. You haven't even started."

Gryph looked down at her swaying his hips. It was a bit awkward for him. He had a little bit of blush in his cheeks.
Gryph started to move his feet slightly. If he were a statue trying to dance he would have already fallen to pieces. 'I hope Raidel doesn't catch me doing this. I will never hear the end of it. ' he thought to himself. He then thought to himself. 'Maybe I could pretend I am fencing with Raidel to make it look like dancing'. Gryph tried to incorporate his fencing moves to the music to please the female. Though he came close to stepping on his own tail.

"Gryph, you look like you're fighting, not dancing. Here..."
She stopped, and spun around him in a flurry, then paused and waited for him to try it. HECK no she wasn't letting him get out of this. Even though her tail was starting to swish with impatience.
"Come on now. It's not that hard."
She turned to grab his hands, and swayed with him, making sure he didn't have a chance to escape or even change his mind.
"See? One-AND-two-AND-three-AND.... Move your tail too, or you'll step on it. One-AND-two-AND... "

Gryph looked at Calypso as he grabbed onto him once again to do the right moves. Damn all his escape plans failed.
"....." Gryph started to let his body loosen up a bit. He started to count in his mind 'One-and-two-and-three.' He was looking down at his feet to make sure he didn't miss beat. Gryph lifted up his tail and it slightly twitched to the beat of the music. He wonder then if she knew formal ballroom dancing. It was the last thing he could try.

The girl grinned as he seemed to be getting it. She sashayed around with him, back and forth, trying to use her tail to wrap around his, and keep him steady.
"See? NOW you've got the hang of it. Together now, with me. One-AND-TWIRL-and.... See?"
She spun him around along with her, and made sure he didn't fall.
"Careful! It's a bit of a headrush at first. Now then... you try that on your own, and I'll make sure you don't fall."

Gryph smiled. "umm okay." he said not sure what to expect. He could feel the spinning around and around. He was getting a bit light headed and a little dizzy. This would take some used to. He did stumble a bit over his own feet with the spinning.
"Now I can see why. How do you keep your balance when doing that," asked Gryph trying to get over the spinning feeling in his head.

She went into another spin, grinning. "Watch my head!" she told him, twirling her tail along with her body. One think Gryph might notice if he were paying attention was that her eyes were not moving along with her body - but focusing on one point of the room every so often.
"See? Like. This." she pointed where she was looking.
"Here. Here. Here. Here. Simple! Then you don't get as dizzy."
She stopped spinning, coming to a graceful stop as she jumped mid-spin, and landed in front of him with a smile and a tailswish.

"I guess I'll try it again," replied Gryph. Though he still wonder about not falling over. Gryph notice her head stood mainly still. He could do that. Yes, he could.
"Here goes nothing," said Gryph. He tried to spin. Though his tail did hit a stool. He stopped in front of Calypso. "I don't think I could do that for very long. It was hard not to want to spin his head along with his body." Gryph rubbed his tail from when it hit the stool.
