A rather dull duty Shun had that day, seeing how he just had to patrol the areas around the Imperial base in the free lands. He would have much rather been given a task that was a little more enticing, but there wasn't much he could do about his orders in any case. This was especially true since any major slipups may make the higher ups change their minds about a few things here and there. But it wasn't just him either; his zoid seemed to be a bit restless as well.
And there wasn't much of a chance that anything would happen. Even so, he kept a watchful eye out for anything suspicious anyway. Who knows, maybe they'll end up getting some action today after all.
For now, however, it wasn't quite that case. The dark saber tiger let out a low mechanical growl at the lack of anything in the vast dessert-like region.
"I know, but I guess it's also good in a way. Don't get too antsy," he uttered to the beast he piloted.
At least he didn't have anyone pestering him about this or that out here in any case.

Angelina surveyed the area around the republican base she had been ordered to Patrol. Angelina eased the white blade liger forward at a steady pace resisting her sudden urge to make the liger speed across the sands. Angelina had to stay close and wait for the other cadet to show up.
The blade liger growled impatiently wanting to run.
"I know, I know." she told the AI with a sigh. "Well if we hurry and come back you think anyone would notice Seraphim?" a mischievous grin spreed across her face as she spoke to the AI.
Seraphim roared as Angelina made him speed forward through the maze ravines and broke out into the desert sand dunes.
Angelina grinned "Lets see how fast you can really go Seraphim..." she said taking the Blade liger to it's full speed. She smiled as she felt adrenaline rush through her body and felt the G-forces increase dramatically as the ligers top speed was reached. It was a strange and exciting feeling, she loved it, running with Seraphim like this.
The white Blade liger continued to run.

Shortly after leaving to rendezvous with another pilot for patrol duty Bishop noticed one of the sensors on her screens registering a strange cluster of motion off to the side where one of the dunes sloped downward leading into a blind spot for her. After a solid 20 minutes of investigating she had found no signs of the sand in that area stirring recently.
"Tsk, That sensor may still be tripping." She made a few notes on the specifics and variables of the occurrence in a small log book. The Zaber Fang she had recently inherited had been having some minor issues after its restoration and she was determined to fix the remaining quirks.
"Lets get going. If it was real then it should show us more signs later." The Zaber Fang began running at a conservative speed towards the point her ally most likely would be by this time. She did not like pushing Arc if it was not necessary.

On his radar, Shun picked up an approaching zoid. It seemed that he had been a little too hopeful about not having anyone but him, as another saber tiger soon came running into his view. Oh well. He simply let out a sigh and shook his head to himself before opening up a link to the other zoid.
"Did you get lost on the way here?" he uttered. It didn't matter a whole lot to him what the actual answer was, but he figured he might as well ask. Besides, something else had just caught his attention right then and there.
Another blip had appeared on his radar soon after he had spoken. And as far as he could remember, there wasn't supposed to be anyone else coming in this area. So for a moment, he shot his ally a glance before looking over towards the direction the unidentified zoid was coming from. Sure enough, just on the horizon, he was able to spot what looked like a blade liger heading their way.
I guess we may have a bit of fun out here after all... who would have thought?
The soldier narrowed his eyes a bit as he couldn't help but wonder what the liger's pilot was up to. Right now, he couldn't tell if it what faction it belonged to, except that it couldn't be a part of the Imperial Army.
Without saying another word to the other tiger, he began to make his way towards the liger at half speed.

Two blips appeared on her radar, Angelica slowed Seraphim to a halt still a good distance away. She noticed they were coming closer. She had Seraphim focus in; Zaber fangs? They looked like imperial brand by the colours.
The blade liger roared, almost in challenge.
"We should head back." she told Seraphim's AI, now wasn't the time to start a fight, especially if it might accidentally start the war again she certainly didn't want to loose Seraphim because of something like this. "Lets get back to the outpost." she turned the zoid around quickly as the Fangs continued their approach. It was a good thing Seraphim's colouring wasn't easy to identify as Republican.
"Maybe We'll run into that other liger we were supposed to be partnered up with." she said having the blade liger go almost at full speed back toward the republican outpost...

Thank goodness he was easy to locate she thought to herself while sighing in relief. Patrol duty would not have gone well if she couldn't catch up with her ally. "I was looking into something that seemed suspicious but in the end it was nothing worth reporting." That relief did not last long since the strange Blade Liger blipped onto her radar moments before it turned and fled. The Zaber Fang roared a few times desperately wanting to pursue the Liger. Despite her ZOIDs vocalizations Bishop was not concerned about her ZOID acting out. Arc knew to wait for at least some minor cue from its pilot before being able to indulge in acts of blatant aggression.
The Zaber Fang maintained its speed intending on catching up with its partner. "Were you able to get a good look at that ZOID at all?" Even though Bishop did not get a good visual of the ZOID she was carefully monitoring it's speed and direction of travel on her radar display. She idlely began bringing up local map data while waiting for them to finish bridging the gap.
((OOC: I'm assuming I'm simply far away from both ZOIDs. I'll be caught up fully with the other Zaber Fang by next post.))

When the blade liger turned around to flee the scene, Shun slowed his saber tiger down some. The zoid in question was retreating, so he wasn't entirely certain if he should keep up the pursuit at this point. As his ally worked on catching up with him, he peered off towards the blade liger's general direction before finally replying.
"It was a white Blade Liger. That's all I could tell."
For now, he figured that he would let the other tiger catch up, then decide whether or not they should go spend time to investigate the zoid. There were no hostile actions, so most likely they wouldn't do that.

Angelina continued her retreat she should have just stuck to the patrol route. I hope those Zabers don't follow me, she thought coming back along her original route. If she was to back track she'd find the Shield liger and it's pilot back this way.
Breathing a sigh of relief Angelina had Seraphim stop and turn around; no Zabers just like she had hoped. Well at least she'd get back to the patrol with no problems.
Now were was that Shield liger... Seraphim continued back along their route.

Once she was by the other Zaber Fang's side they slowed down to match speeds.
"That's odd, the Liger left without a word. There is absolutely nothing of significance around here... Just a few bases to keep any one side from claiming the area as theirs. There is no legitimate reason for them being here."
She shrugs looking back at the maps. "They turned tail pretty fast. I bet they won't be coming back any time soon. What do you think?"
Near the Republic base a Shield Liger is slowly following the freshly made tracks of a running ZOID. It is clearly paying more attention to the tracks then it's surroundings.

A little while after the other saber tiger had caught up, Shun stopped his completely. There wasn't much of a reason to keep going forward when the blade liger was most likely well ahead of them at this point.
"Right. Though I have a slight feeling it was one of the republicans. No clue why they were here but the way it fled the moment it saw us seemed a bit peculiar. For all they knew we could have just been rogues with zabers that happened to be colored like the imperial army."
Shrugging, he turned his zoid in the opposite direction. He was a little disappointed, but he should have expected things to turn out like this.
"Might as well continue patrolling. Better keep an eye out for them in case they do end up coming back."

Nearing the base Angelina saw the shield liger. "What took you?" she said flicking on the com then halting the blade liger. Angelina waited for the liger to catch up.
"You're late, I've already been around and back." she said jokingly, cleverly neglecting to mention her would be encounter with the imperial Zaber Fangs. "Anyway let's get back to the patrol.. um..." she paused realizing she didn't know the other pilot's name.

"Alright, sounds like a plan." Bishop's Zaber Fang follows her team mate doing its best to match speeds.
She had finally finished taking down information on the encounter and tucked them away somewhere safe. No need letting something get damaged or lost due to the jostling of combat or more running. "Unless they come back or had done something aggressive it's best to keep going."
The Liger perked up and rumbled at the appearance of its commrad. "Around... and back? At that rate if there was something amiss you may have missed it." Feeling no need to hurry they approched the Blade Liger at a slow lesurly pace.
Once the ligers were next to eachother he asked in a non-serious tone. "What took me, where were you?"

Nodding, Shun glanced over in the direction where the blade liger disappeared once more, then ushered the zaber fang to go on their way. He still couldn't help but wonder what the blade liger pilot was doing running around like that. Along with that he still hoped that something would be stupid enough to cause some trouble in the area.
With a sigh, he kept an eye on the terrain around him in silence. Chances were that the brief liger encounter was going to be the most exciting thing to happen during this entire patrol session.

That pace really bothered her; Angelina quietly wished he'd hurry just a bit more. "Missed something?" She repeated "I've got the sharpest eyes in the republic I'll have you know." Angelina grinned flicking the com back on.
"Gone, since you were late." Angelina reminded him seriously "Let’s get going 'we' have to make up the lack of ground covered by the 'two' of us."
Seraphim rumbled in reply to the other liger.
