Yugari lifted his head, flames whipping with the ever cold winds. Things had been worse this year than ever, but it was lifting at least. The flames danced on his back and paws, making it easy to pass through the snow and keep himself warm. Blood red eyes watched the horizon with a wary glare, not trusting the sun's glare on the snow to guide him.

It was cold.
Extremely cold.
If he would of realized that Talvi had led him so far from the little cavern that he called home, he wouldn't of tried to leave and find his old home in the first place. There was something there, an animal skin that had been left with him when he had been abandoned. He'd have to forget about it, now, 'cos he would probably die trying to find the damned place. Even now, he was too cold, his paws were numb, and he couldn't feel his nose.
He flopped down on his haunches, his rump in the wet, freezing snow. His little, dark body shook and he lifted his maw to the sky to belt out a desperate howl.

Yugari's head snapped to a small, and pitiful howl. The ice spurred him to forget the little sound, and keep his path, but the fire on his back seemed to hiss at the idea. The fire won, and the white helix turned.
The little creature seemed half frozen to the ground, and for a moment, Yugari wondered if he could even move his tail. The blood red eyes studied the pup for a long moment, "Lost our way, have we?"

The shaking, shivering thing lifted his head so his bi-colored eyes could see the helix that emanated such heat. His numb paws shook and his teeth practically clattered as he parted his maw.
"Y-y-y-yessir. I w-w-w-was tryin' t-t-t-to find 'ome, b-b-but I got lost. I cain't find Talvi. Sh-sh-sh-she's th'one takin' care of me." He spoke softly and his shaking caused him to stammer.

Yugari listened, the ridges of his eyes knotting together in a sort of annoyance. "You shouldn't stutter like that. It's annoying." As he spoke, the white wolf made his way to the pup. He was careful not to let the fire brush the pup's fur. Even if the fur was soaked, the fire could be dangerous if he needed it hot. Despite his gruff tone, there was something gentle in his eyes as he sniffed over the pup, checking that nothing was harmed beyond cold. When he was satisfied, Yugari scanned the tundra for a suitable shelter. "You're soaked. We should try to find some where to weather the storm.." He looked down to the pup, a slight crinkle in the corners of his eyes, the closest thing he usually got to a smile. "Then, we'll find your home, kay?"

"S-s-sorry, Mister." He mumbled as he leaned near the adolescent, gaining as much warmth as he could without getting too close to the flames. Yugari's arrival had answered the little one's prayers and without him, Talikov most likely wouldn't of survived the night, not a pup that small and without shelter.
"'Kay. I feel bad, Talvi's probably worried. I didn't mean to get too far!" He explained as he felt sensations returning to his paws and warmth on his body. He was still cold, but the flames were helping tremendously. He hoped the storm would pass soon, 'cos he really was kind of worried about that quirky, blue helix with the snow man.

A gust of wind slammed into Yugari's side with enough to make him almost lose his footing. That was quite enough, it was time to find a shelter.... He picked the pup up by the scruff of the neck, heading toward what he hoped was a forest, but covered in snow, it migh have been rock formations or something of the like. All he could really do was hope, because in these conditions, they wouldn't have much of a second chance.

The shaking pup couldn't help but to utter a sigh of relief as the strange white, flaming helix seized him by the scruff and lifted him from the freezing snow. Yeah, he was a stranger, but at this point the term "stranger danger" was completely lost on Talikov. His life had been in the paws of strangers since his parents left him to die of exposure.
The little pup curled up instinctively and held his haunches as close as he could to his upper torso. He hadn't been carried like that in so long and the sheer motion brought back a wave of rather unpleasant memories. Still, he held still and prayed silently that this adolescent could take him to safety, out of the reach of the harsh, Northern winds.

Yugari's curse was muffled by the pup's scruff. He could tell now from the way the mounds did not budge in the wind, that he would not find this to be a forest. The white wolf picked up his pace, eyes frantically searching for any hint of shelter as a new gust of wind threatened his footing. Thanks the Gods! Yugari breathed a silent sigh of relief. A stone just held a small shadow, hardly visible, but it was a cave! He tossed his speed into a lope, fighting against the wind to make it to the small shelter. The opening was small, but as he came near he could see that the cave itself was deep, and opened to a much larger cavern. Good, perfect in fact. Yugari rather unceremoniously dropped the pup on the floor, just barely inside the cave, and began to run his paws all over the pup. "We must get the ice off," He explained, nosing over the pup to be sure that everything was alright. "If it melts, we'll both be in bad shape.." He nudged the pup inside, and brought himself in, to start the same process on himself. Not much ice clung to the areas near the fire, but it coated his legs, cheeks and tail. Frozen, the ice came off rather cleanly, leaving only tiny bits that wouldn't make much difference wether they melted or not.

Ice practically fell of the frozen pup in sheets. Talikov was still quaking, but the shelter in the cave from that howling wind was enough for him to feel drastically warmer. The little shadow certainly did the massive shelter little justice. The cave was so much larger inside and the clacking of his fangs echoed through the vast dwelling place.
Once he was free of the clutches of the ice that had gathered on his body while out in the storm, he quickly began to wash his freezing body with his warm, pink tongue and cast a weary glue eye towards Yugari. Surely the adolescent must of been just as cold, just as wet, and just as tired as he.
"Gee, thanks mister. I woulda' froze out there."

Yugari shrugged, the ice on his legs finally gone, "It's not big deal kid. " With a rather large shake, he tossed the reminants of the ice free and walked into the cave. It would do for a good number of things.. Yugari made note to remember where this cave was. It would make a good shelter if ever needed again, and perhaps, in time, even a den.. He looked over to the pup, "..Now what were you doing out in that anyway? Doesn't seem all that smart of an idea, now does it?"

He blinked his mismatched eyes for a moment as he watched the fire laden helix travel deeper into the cave and registered his words. No, it wasn't all that smart, but he couldn't bring himself to admit that. Finding home was important, after all. Sure, Talvi might be worried about him, 'cos he just up and left... But he really wanted to get back to his old cave.
Not that it mattered anymore. He had decided promptly on the spot that he no longer cared about the fur that had been left with him as a "blanket" now that he had made it out of that predicament alive.
"I needed to get something... Doesn't matter, anymore. I've no idea where it is, especially after that snowfall."
