Woah, a bundle? Yup, it’s a cute little palui bundle. Want to win it? Read on. The parents Ceallach is friendly, optimistic and lazy. He’d much rather lounge around in the sun than race about the place in general, but he can occasionally be persuaded into play if it sounds like really good fun. He is happy to help out anyone who looks like they need it, and tends to assume that everyone is basically nice until he is proven wrong. This said, he isn’t a fool and won’t put up with people who just want to use him. Diana has spent her life inside looking out. A pampered, beloved pet Palui, she is incredibly tame and implicitly trusts any human that does not obviously wish to harm her. However, she has always suffered from strange bouts of longing for more than her peaceful existence - whenever she goes out into the world at her owner's side, no matter how much she loves her she sometimes wants to slip her leash and run away. Just to see what's out there, of course. She adores being around plants, particularly fruit trees and sweet-smelling flowers, and gets on well with other Palui - particularly those that have had Adventures. She tends to idolise those who lead more exciting lives than she does, and will quite happily listen to their tales for hours with rapt, starry-eyed attention. The rules1. This is an RP/Concept contest; good concept is important as well as good RP in general ^w^ 2. The palui may be male or female, as you choose 3. You can enter no matter how many palui you have 4. No giving the palui away if you win XD 5. No whining!! 6. Contest begins now. Contest ends Tuesday 10th March at 10pm GMT7. If there are insufficient entries by the end of the contest, it will be extended The contestOkay, so here’s what you have to do to win; give an overview of the palui’s personality, and write about an adventure it had... Yea I’m kinda stealing from the adventure contest a bit. Oh well. It can be a cute fluffy adventure or a big scary adventure, and you can set it either when the palui is a kit or when it is an adult, but is mustn't be attuned. I think that’s about everything you need to know for this; good luck all! Name: Princess_Feylin Palui Name: Coyote Palui Gender: male One word you would use to describe him/her: crafty
Brief desc of personality: Coyote is protective of the people he cares about. With anyone else he plays coy (making his nickname very appropriate) and tends to sidle beyond reach. His favorite past time is hiding things, the more frequently used, the better. This means that keys, hairbrushes, television remotes, and the like are not safe from him.
RP response: As a kit, Coy had been one for getting in trouble. He was always the one slipping away from his keepers, only to reappear later with some "treasure" he'd found during his time away. When he was given to a pair of humans, Max and Chuck, he found a fresh ground for his play and tricks. He learned how to chew shoelaces so that they looked fine until they were given a good tug, and then they'd come apart, ends frayed, and he learned how to squirm his way into the shop below the apartment, which always smelled tantalyzingly of food but was firmly off-limits.
To anyone who has never seen a restaurant kitchen, it must look the medical lab of an alien space ship, all polished surfaces, gleaming tools, and bubbling pots. To young Coyote it was surreal. The scent of so many foods being prepared all at once nearly overwhelmed his sensitive nose, and the sounds were so strange. Some of the shining pots hissed and others bubbled, and still others spat or gurgled. Timers in various locations ticked down to the zero hour, when the food was ready. The only thing which was remotely familiar was the sight of Max in the center of it all, somehow keeping track of everything at once. Except for the little palui that had snuck into this forbidden place. The sensory stimulus was enough to make Coy sit down in his tracks as he strove to make sense of what he saw.
It didn't take too long for the shock to wear off, and once it did Coy slunk around the edges of the room, studying everything and ducking out of view whenever it seemed Max might look down and notice him. He had long since mastered the trick of opening cabinets, and decided the best way to avoid notice was to stay hidden in the cabinets, where more objects that resembled the ones out and in use sat, waiting to be put to use, gleaming dully, even in the darkness. Weaving over and under and around the pots, pans, and other implements was more exciting than exploring the outdoors could ever have been. That was not the best part, though it was great fun.
The best part was when he discovered the cabinets which held cooking spices. He investigated each of the carefully sealed pouches with delicate sniffs, barely able to distinguish the individual scents from the permeating scent of dinners being prepared in the main kitchen. Many of these new scents were ones he recognized from the faint scents that clung to Max when he came back to the apartment, but some were utterly unfamiliar to him. One in particular both burned and tickled his nostrils as he inhaled it. It also had an unexpected side effect, making his sneeze loudly and with such force that he tumbled backward and out of the cabinet. Right onto Max's rubber-soled work shoes.
The human and the palui stared at each other for several seconds while Coy worried he would be picked up by the scruff of his neck and put into one of the giant sizzling pots. He was partially correct. Max picked him up by the scruff of his neck, but rather than making him into somebody's stew he tucked him into the pouf of his tall chef's hat and went back to his business. Neither of them mentioned it after that, and Coy didn't stay out of the kitchen, but stayed on the stool Max eventually set aside for visitors, both human and palui.

Name: ChaosMyotismon Palui Name: Michiko Palui Gender: Female One word you would use to describe him/her: Friendly.
Brief desc of personality: Michiko is unlike both her parents. She loves to explore and is a little more active then they are. She likes to take long walks away from home and take in more scents and sights.
RP response: Waking up her afternoon nap her parents make her take little Michiko decided to go for a walk. "Mom, Dad. I'll be back before sundown, promise." Nuzzling them both she heads out of their home and heads off down a new path she'd never took before. She knew the paths she took before cause she marked small, little unnoticed by others, places along the paths.
As she walked she noticed the forest she had entered getting darker even though it wasn't time for sundown, and there were no signs of the sky crying either. Ignoring the fact it was getting darker as she went she kept on her path. Flicking her ears slightly for any sounds she heard nothing the dark forest was quiet. Suddenly she remembered hearing another Palu mother warn her kids "If the forest falls silent there is a predator near by. Be very careful" Giggling slightly she shook it off. "I'll be fine. I'm brave! I have no fear!" She puffed out her fur as she walked and laughed to herself.
A light growl escaped the throat of rather large creature. His bright yellow eyes saw prefect in the darkness of the forest. Opening his muzzle in a silent snarl his yellow fangs bared together before he stalked after the palu that dared to enter this part of the forest alone.
Michiko had no idea what time it was now since she couldn't see the sky in here. "...." Not wanting to admit she was starting to feel scared she continued on hoping to find the end of this dark, spooky forest. Michiko had no idea what was lurking in the underbrush around the path. "I think...I need to head home now....." Turning around she walked four steps before hitting something and fell backwards on her butt. "Ow....What was that?" She asked bravely looking at the thing she bumped into. 'Uh oh.....' Getting to her feet quickly she bolted through the dog's legs running the way she came in.
Growling darkly he snapped for the little palu before turning and quickly chasing after her. Snapping his yellow drool dripping fangs at her ankles every other five bounds. It had been awhile since he got to eat a palu even if this one was just a baby. In his mind a meal was a meal no matter how big.
Running as fast as her little legs could Michiko tried her best to avoid the snapping fangs of the dog. She was very scared of what would happen if she tripped on something, slowed down even a bit, or was being ambushed. After what seemed serval hours of running from the dog in the darkness rays of pinkish light beamed down marking the normal forest part maybe 50 yards in front of her. 'Just a little ways further! I can make it! I have to!' She had to give herself the boost to pick up her feet and get home to safety.
Seeing the rays of the forest the dog stopped right at the border of the shadowy half and growled darkly. His lunch was gone and he refused to leave the darkness of his pack's home. Anyhow there were dogs in the lighted area as well and by now they knew there was prey in the forest scared, alone, and tiring out. Barking slightly he then turned and returned into the underbrush of his packs home.
Lucky for Michiko nothing else shows up in the forest as she finally makes it home panting deeply clinging to her parents. 'No more long trips for me.....'

Name:- F A V U L O U S - Palui Name:Shayne Palui Gender:Female One word you would use to describe him/her:Curious Brief desc of personality:Shayne loved to explore. She couldn't stay home very long because she wanted to know as much as she could about everything. She had long since discovered everything to discover about her home, but the world outside was huge! Her curiosity always got the better of her and she would sometimes get lost and stay gone for days when on one of her little adventures. She loved meeting new Palui and humans, but tried to stay away from most humans. Her friendly nature and outgoing attitude made her very loveable and warm-hearted. RP response: Living in the forest, Shayne always had something to do. Her human owners were on a constant lookout for her to disappear, and she would too. At least once a week, she would disappear for a day or two at a time. She would be off exploring, getting into trouble, or something like that. She was so curious. Apparently she had never heard the phrase "curiousity killed the Palui."
One hot summer day she had been lounging around her owner's home, and decided that today was a day to go exploring. She didn't know where, but she knew she had to go. Her owner wasn't home, and so she didn't have to sneak out. The last time she had gotten into some big trouble. She hoped nothing like that would happen today.
Her human had built his home in the forest, surrounded by trees. She stepped out of the man-made compound and into the bright light and heat of the day. The sun was high in the sky, showing to be about mid-day. "Great," she thought, "I have plenty of time to go exploring before my human comes home, and before it gets dark." She paused for a moment to take in the surroundings and to decide where she wanted to go. She hadn't been down to the shore in a while. Maybe she could start there?
"The beach it is!" she thought to herself, as she trotted down the path that led to through the dense underbrush of the forest, to the open sandy beach along the shore. She walked at a brisk pace, taking in the surroundings. The forest floor was dark, with rays of sunshine filtering through the branches above to provide small pools of light in scattered places. The path she was walking was a little more lit than the rest of the forest. Many humans and Palui alike had walked this path, causing it to become well worn and free of most plants. It was mostly sand with a few rocks here and there.
Shayne had traveled this path many times before, but always finding something new to investigate along the way. Today, she saw some very colorful mushrooms growing along the side of the path. She approached one and sniffed it. It was pink with green polka dots, and smelled extremely sweet. So sweet, that it burned her nose a bit. She shook her head and wiggled her nose, trying to get rid of the sensation. She thought it might be tasty, but decided she would remember to take it home with her on her way back.
The path wound it's way through the forest, and it wasn't long til she could see the stretch of beach through the trees. She slowed her pace and walked out into the bright sunlight and hot sand. There was a warm breeze blowing, causing her fur to ruffle in the wind. The feeling was nice and she closed her eyes and lifted her head. She took in the smells wafting on the breeze. She smelled the salt from the sea and took in a deep breath. Looking around, it looked like she was alone. She saw some driftwood lying on the beach a few hundred yards away. A crab scurried along, getting too close to the water's edge, only to be washed back out to sea with the waves. The sky was bright blue, with only small puffy clouds dotting the horizon. It was a beautiful day.
She walked down to the water's edge and let the waves wash over her paws. She thought about going for a swim, but decided that later might be better. There were lots of seashells along the shoreline, and she turned one lightly colored one over with her paw. It was very pretty, not unlike many she had back home. She had a small collection that she had slowly gathered through the years. She noticed a very flat seashell, half covered in sand sticking out of the ground. She dug it out and examined it. It was a sand dollar. She didn't have any of those, and loved how it looked so different than all the other shells. She picked it up with her mouth and carried it over to a log lying on the beach. She left it there so she could take it home with her when she left.
She spent the rest of the afternoon walking along the shore. She found many shells and even a starfish. She wasn't quite sure what the starfish was, but found it very intriguing. She didn't take it with her though. She couldn't carry anymore.
Up ahead on the beach she could see what looked like a very large log at the water's edge. She approached it and sniffed at it. She could smell that humans had been here. She put her paws on the side of it and peeked over. The top and inside were cut away, leaving it hollow, with parts of it still in tact. She hopped onto the log and looked around inside. There were various human items inside. She had found a human's fishing boat. She stood up on one of the seats and looked out. There weren't any humans around to be seen though. She noticed there was a brown vine hanging from the boat. It seemed to be tied to be tied to an oddly shaped rock laying on the beach. She jumped out of the boat and went to the rock. She could still smell humans. There were prints in the sand that she had seen many times before. She knew those belonged to the humans as well. She followed the trail of the prints that led up the beach and further inland, toward the forest, but veered off to the right. She noticed they led behind a huge cluster of rocks. She cautiously peek around the edge and found a human lying there asleep, propped against the rocks. He had a hat covering his face, shielding it from the sun. Beside him was a basket and laying on the ground were the remnants of his lunch, which appeared to be the bones of something. She looked to make sure he couldn't see her and walked over to the basket. Something smelled delicious. She peeked over the edge of the basket and found the source of the aroma. There was a bowl of chicken. She eagerly sniffed at the food. She eyed the human carefully, making sure she wouldn't get caught, and quickly snatched a piece. She quickly ran around to the side of the rock, where she wouldn't be seen. The taste of the chicken was so good. She's never eaten chicken before. Usually she ate fruits and berries that her owner would give her, and sometimes some fish, but never anything like this. It was delicious! She devoured it quickly and wanted more. She snuck back around the edge of the rock, noting the human was still asleep. She crept by him and started to get another piece, when the human woke. "HEY! GET OUT OF THERE!" he yelled at her, waving his hat at her furiously. She quickly grabbed another piece and jumped back, away from the basket, and out of reach of the human.
The human was getting to his feet, and she backed away, with the chicken still in her mouth. He grabbed up the basket and shooed her with his hat. She wasn't very scared, but enough that she didn't want to get hit or her food taken. She turned and ran away from the human, who was now brushing the sand from his bottom and gathering his things. She could hear him laughing behind her. Apparently he wasn't too mad that she took his food. "Maybe he has a Palui of his own." she thought.
After running back to where she had left her shell, she stopped and caught her breath. She ate the chicken, and decided she should probably head back home. She picked up the shell in her mouth and found the path through the woods that lead back to her home. She passed the mushroom again, but decided to come back to it another time. When she got home, she stashed her shell with the others she had collected. She found her bed, which her human had made for her out of a basket and a pillow, and curled up to go to sleep. The sun was setting in the sky, and the light filtered through the window of the home. She soon drifted off to sleep, thinking about her adventures of the day.

Name:Myst the Loner Palui Name:Shura Palui Gender:Female One word you would use to describe him/her:Curious. Brief desc of personality:Shura is a bit too curious for her size. She is also extremely kind, playful, and even a little shy around some others. She loves her mother and father very much and often finds herself in trouble. RP response: . . . "...ball..." . . . "No mama....I don't want to take a bath yet..." . . . "mmmmm...wait...wait"
Slowly opening her eyes, the young palui sleepily looked around herself. She stretched her short legs for a few seconds, sighing in relief. She then quickly rolled around onto her belly and stood up, shaking her fur. A smile appeared on her face as her bright eyes scoured the room around her, locking onto a ball in between the room she was in and another. She ran over close to it, stopping a few feet away from the target in front of her. She crouched low, her ears as far back as she could push them. Slowly, she moved forward, her front half lower to the floor then her second. She stopped, moving her second half side to side before leaping up towards the large round object. She blinked as she seemed to be slipping off, but pushed forward, jumping up towards the top of it.
"HA!" she said excitingly as she landed on top of the large round object. "Not even the ball is a match for the great Palui in the whole world! Shura!" she said laughing, but was surprised when her paws started slipping. "wwwwwooaahh!!" she yelled as she ran about on the top of the ball as it rolled from side to side. "I-I-I didn't mean it when I said you weren't no match!" she yelled as the ball rolled backwards. She ran about the top, trying to keep her balance so she wouldn't fall. "O-okay! This isn't fun anymore!" she said yelling when the ball started rolling faster.
The ball continued to roll backwards as she ran forward. Some laughter escaped her as she started to get use to running about on the ball. "See? Too easy!" she said laughing as she ran about on the ball, looking ahead to see where she was going. "oh-nonononononono!" she said trying to run in a different direction as soon as she saw she was heading out the door. Unfortunately, she was unable to stop that from happening and ran right on the ball as it bounced down the few steps that led onto the walkway outside. "s-stop!" she yelled, bouncing right off the ball and onto something rather soft...but warm.
She blinked and then started laughing. "That was great! I was so scared! But it was fun too!" she said laughing, quieting down after about a minute. She blinked and then turned to the sound she heard. It sounded like something was rumbling or rattling....or mad. It took about a minute, but she finally realized that she was laying on something's snout. "I'm in trouble now...aren't I?..." she said, laughing nervously.
Shura slowly moved off the snout of the animal she had been laying on the past minute. With a nervous laugh, her tail between her legs and her ears flat against her head, she was about two seconds from high-tailing it away from there. "GIT AWAY FROM ME YER STUPID CAT!" barked the aggravated dog as it snapped at the small palui. Shura had quickly moved out of the way of the angry dog's first snap. "I"m not a cat!" she yelled back as she moved away from the rest of it's angry snapping at her. "I DUN CARE WHAT YOU ARE! NO FELINE'S GONNA MAKE A FOOL OUTTA ME!" yelled the dog. Shura ran right under the angry dog and away from it. "I'm not trying!!" she yelled back as she ran, knowing he was right behind her. She felt his hot breath behind her the last time he snapped at her. He had just missed her thankfully, unable to go any further because of the rope around his collar attached to the doghouse by the main house.
Shura ran straight into a nearby pond, quickly climbing out since she hadn't gone in too deep. She shivered, shaking her now wet fur of as much water as she could. "t-that's...c-c-c-cold..." she muttered as she sat down by the pond, shivering. Her attention was easily averted as she saw something swim by her moving alongside the edge of the pond to try and see what it was. She stopped as soon as she saw something else swimming in a certain area of the water and crept up to the edge, looking at it. She tapped her paw into the water but frowned as the thing in the water swam away.
"Don't go..." she muttered as she ran across the edge of the pond to where it swam too. This time, she tried pouncing at it. She missed, but watched in amazement as it jumped out of the water and into another spot of the pond. The water was shallow where she was, so she continued pouncing repeatedly after the animal in the water laughing. "I got you!" she yelled laughing one time as she pounced after it, yelling other things as she did the same thing repeatedly.
Shura laughed again as she pounced after the animal again, but this time sank into the water somewhat. She quickly kicked her legs until her head was above water, splashing. "H-H-Help! Mama!!" she yelled splashing, kicking her legs as hard as she could. A look of fright on her face as she sank and then tried desperately to get her head above the water, crying for help. The moments after that were a surprise to her though. One moment she had been trying desperately to stay alive, the next she was flying in midair for about a second before handing headfirst onto the earth and rolling a few times forward.
It took about a minute for her to take it all in, as she laid on her back, staring up at the sky. She coughed up a little water as she laid thee, her head to the side as she quickly rolled onto her belly. She breathed, but then looked forward to see something else in the pond. She quickly got up and ran over to it, sniffing at the animal. "You should be more careful next time little one. You could have drowned. Shouldn't you be around with your mother?" the other animal asked.
"Mama's inside...What are you?" she asked, cocking her head to one side.
"well, I'm a palui. Like you are" He said chuckling as he looked at Shura. "A water palui if you want to be more specific. That's why I look a little different. I've been watching you the past few hours. I think you're a little young to be fishing. That animal you were chasing was a fish" he said smiling.
"You're a Palui? wwooooowwww...and that thing I was chasing was a fish?" she asked amazed. She blinked and tried to paw one of his weblike ears.
The water palui dove down into the water and came back up. "Your a curious one aren't you?" he said laughing as he quickly looked to one side. "Someone's coming!" he said and dove quickly into the water.
"Wait! Who's coming?!" Shura yelled back, poking her head into the water. She was looking around in the water, holding her breath, but felt as she was pulled out against her will.
"Shura. What are you doing out here? It's dangerous for you to be out here. You could have been hurt" said the voice. Shura had looked up to see that it was the human that took care of her and her mother. "paluuuu" is the sound Shura made to the human as they carried her off into the house.
Shura looked up at her human caretaker as she set her down on the counter and dried her off with a towel. She didn't say anything more as she was picked up again and then placed into the basket where she slept with everyone else. "I'm sure your mother has been looking for you." the human said smiling as they placed a bowl of milk down for her and then walked off.
Shura watched watched as the human walked off and then started drinking some of the milk in the bowl next to the basket. Her ears perked as she heard someone calling her name and ran in the direction she heard it from, smiling as she found her mother. She quickly ran over and snuggled against her leg. She was tired after the day she had. Her mother must have known this because she was taken over to the basket and set down. "mama...alot of stuff....happened today..." she muttered as she yawned.
She hadn't even started on her story to tell her mother before she fell gently to sleep in the basket, eagerly waiting the adventures awaiting her in the coming days, months and even years.

Name: Palui Name: Stulta Palui Gender: Female One word you would use to describe him/her: Lucky Brief desc of personality: Some would say that Stulta's the clumsiest, unluckiest Palu alive. In truth, she's incredibly lucky. Very, very much so, for she constantly gets into scrapes that make her family wonder how she's still functioning. She's good-hearted and kind, true, but you really, really, really wouldn't want to trust her with anything important, as she'll probably eat it, lose it, break it, or some combination of the above. RP response: Stulta had been in the garden, digging like she wasn't supposed to, and now she was completely covered in dirt and mud. She knew she was in trouble- her owner hated a dirty Palui. Fortunately, they were typing at their computer, which meant that she could sneak into the house and clean up before they noticed. Tiptoeing past the computer room, she paid no attention to the mud she was tracking everywhere, lumpy little footprints that followed her wherever she went. She knew that her person didn't like messes, so she thought she'd better not just groom herself, but also give herself a bath. She was quite familiar with baths- they happened in that room with the white floor upstairs. There was a big tub filled with water, and there were bubbles that stung your eyes. You played around in the water and bubbles, and magically, you were clean. She wagged her tail, shaking mud all over the walls of the hallway as she reached the stairs. Bunching herself up, she bounded up them, sending the runner rug askew and scratching the wood floor beneath with her little claws. Most of the mud had either dried in her fur or flaked off by now- good thing, too, as she'd often heard about how difficult this floor was to clean. Better that the mud was on the carpet downstairs! The bathroom door at the top of the stairs had been left ajar by the last person to use it- she squeezed through the crack with no problem. However, she'd not forseen how TALL the bathtub walls were! Worried, she looked for something to climb. Aha! Next to the white chair thing was a flattish rope! She could climb up that and into the bathtub! The end was right within her reach, too, and she pulled on it. To her surprise, more of the rope unspooled. Confused, she continued to pull at the rope. It kept coming unspooled, faster and faster, until there was no more rope left on the brown tube it had been coiled around. The flat, papery substance was all over the bathroom floor, some of it even snaking out into the hall. Hmm. She'd have to try another way. Maybe she could jump it? Stulta backed up towards the hallway, then took a running jump. She almost made it; she slammed into the wall of the tub, her muddy belly smearing the side. She managed to hook the top with her paws, though, and held on despite how smooth and slippery the top of the tub was. She managed to wriggle herself up and perch on the edge, where she realized that her little adventure had been in vain. There was no water in the bathtub! As Stulta flattened her ears in despair, she looked around for something to get her clean. She couldn't be such a mess when her owner got done with whatever they were typing and paid attention to her! Fortunately, the white chair thing had a basin of water on it- just the thing! She'd never seen water in the chair thing before, as her person sat on it when she was getting a regular bath. "They musta left that out for me in case I got dirty when they weren't paying attention!" she squeaked, happy that her person cared so much about her cleanliness. And it was right within reach of the bathtub! She jumped for the porcelain seat, knocking over two bottles of shampoo in the process, and made the landing perfectly, right into the water. Plop! However, this wasn't bath water- this was cold! Stulta squeaked loudly in shock, but groomed the rest of the mud off of her body in the water. Once she was clean, she tried to get out of this chilly basin, but the walls were curved in, and she couldn't escape! Panicked, she began to squeak louder and splash water everywhere, hoping to attract attention...
The e-mail finished, Stulta's human called for her little Palu companion, but the furry animal was nowhere to be found. However, there were tracks all over the white carpet. Sighing and shaking her head, the human followed the tracks up to the stairs. Groaning, she set the rug straight, then ran up the stairs, attracted by squeaking and splashing from the bathroom. She rubbed her temples when she saw the bathroom. It was a mess. There was mud on the tub, and the entire roll of toilet paper had been undone. Shampoo was spilling in the bathtub... and where on earth was Stulta? The toilet was overflowin...... oh no. The human, knowing exactly what she'd see, crossed the pile of tissue to the toilet, where sure enough, water was being flung everywhere and squeaks were emitting loudly.
Stulta looked up at her owner, a sopping mess. "Paluuuu?" she squeaked piteously.
The human looked at her in shock. "... Stulta... I'm not going to ask why you did it or what was going through your little head... just... how on earth did you get in the toilet?"

And to know so much knowledge too. It has been her longer then. So many great stories it has but unable to let it out, only to the sand." He lay down hoping to hear what the ocean had to say.

First of all, thank you all for entering! I know it's said every time, but I really loved all your entries, and I wish I'd had more than one bundle to give away XP
The winner of this contest, after a difficult deliberation, is Scaramouche Fandango!
Congrats to you Scara, and thanks again to everybody who entered!
