The moss colored male had never been known to be the most handsome male. Though he was a proud male no doubt. He was a good, loyal wolf. The kind every wolfess wished they could end up with.
But his pelt had made others joke..Made them snicker behind his back at being so.. dirt brown and moss green..
But the male couldnt be happier. He was mated to the most beautiful wolfess he had ever laid eyes on, and he was happily living in her presence.
They had become inseperable for the most part, and he thorooughly enjoyed hunting for her.
When he had been out for his morning walk, he had spied a rose bush that did not belong to his mate. The roses themselves were not the pink or red hue that she aquainted herself with most. He almost believed that maybe these bright roses..Were special.
Instantly he thought of her, and plucked the rose gently between his teeth, as to avoid the thorns.
With his head held high, he began to prance home, humming all the way.

Disneyana was excited for Allah to return from the hunt, she normally ate much less than him but today she was hungry. She was not only hungry for herself, but for the tiny spark of life she could feel growing within. She was busy pulling the rosebushes up with care, her nose was mildly scratched by the lower thorns.
She couldn't wait to explain to Allah why their cozy den needed expanding. Disneyana hummed happily to herself carefully setting the lush rosebushes aside, it would have been such an odd sight to see this blue female pruning wild roses.

The male pranced up to the shape of his mate, who was attending her roses. He smiled, wagging his tail, and dropping the rose, with the rabbit not far behind.
His mouth had been full, but it had been worth it.
Wagging his tail again, he panted, a smile forming on his face as he started to nuzzle his mates neck ruff.
"Good morning my lovely."

Disneyana as usual spotted the vivid rose long before the food and nuzzled her mate happily. "Your back so fast!" She smiled and licked at his muzzle before moving to tenderly pick the rose up and set it between her paws.
"This is beautiful, it's so unique from the ones I have here..." She glanced over her shoulder at the rosebushes lying on their sides away from the den.
With a smile she moved to devour the rabbit, much faster then she normally would have and without her usual offer to share. This time she did not eat it with roots or berries, nor did she leave any behind as was her custom for the foxes and ravens.

He smiled.
"It reminded me so much of you."
He said, but was slightly taken aback as she swallowed the rabbit in tiny pieces, and did not pair it with her normal rosebud flavoring.
"Disney hun, you seem to have forgotten the other part of your meal."
He said with a nuzzle to her nose.

She turned and chuckled. "I know, I was just so hungry for something a bit more...filling." She moved to curl up against his chest and nuzzle him tenderly.
"I have something to tell you Allah..." She smiled and licked his muzzle her voice quivered with happy anticipation. Would he rejoice in the news, or worry for them? After all they were loners out on the meadow, and while the forest offered some protection, the open meadows did not. She couldn't go into the forest though, even with Allah by her side she disliked the darkness and enclosed sensation of it.
"We must make the den larger..." She added softly.

He cocked his head.
"We do not need a bigger cave, Disney, whats gotten into you?"
He shook his head with a smile.
"Now you know how hard it was to find such a perfect one as this. Why mess with perfection?"
He asked, rolling onto his back and kicking his paws into the air, looking at her with his tongue dangling from his maw.

She smiled as he rolled over and nuzzled his stomach. "Oh Allah, it must be bigger...it must. I want to dig it up and create some more space."
She grinned and glanced at her roses where they had been pulled up. "I started moving the roses so we could expand and replant them all around the new den. But I'll need your help...I'll be tired soon...for our pups take much energy Allah.." She smiled and sat back to allow him to digest the news.

Allah, began to help her with her fancy.. He didnt see the need in expanding, but what Disney wanted, Disney got from the male.
But as he started to dig, he stopped, eyes big. His ears were perked, and his tail pointed straight out.
"Wait.."
He stuttered.
"Our pups?"

Disneyana laughed softly at the look on his face and nodded happily amused at his posture, still half digging, half rigid. She moved closer to nuzzle him and sit by his side.
"Yes Allah, pups of our own..." She sighed happily and gazed up at him.
How wonderful it was going to be a family raised in the sweet shadow of the roses, out in the open, together.

He quite literally dropped his jaw, his rigid body collapsing into the dirt whole he had just dug. It was an ungraceful landing, and he bumped his head on the edge.
He quickly regained consciousness and stood up breathing heavily and eyes wide.
"You mean Im goin' to be a father?"
He asked, right eyes unbelieving. So he was going to be getting the family, he and Disney had been trying for for so long.

She lurched forward concerned when her mate fell before giggling as he composed himself. She gently nuzzled him brushing the dirt away from his forehead though it might have blended it just fine.
"Yes, you'll be a father, we'll have a family of our own." She smiled softly and licked his muzzle.

"Then we must dig." He said, using his forepaws to burrow into the earth quickly. He looked at her belly.
"How much time do we have? We have to make sure theres room!"
He said quickly, trying hard not to panic, but it was still evident in his eyes.
"Im so excited!"
He didnt add how paniced he was.

She chuckled and moved closer to press her nose against his neck. "Relax my love, we have plenty of time...they'll be summer pups I think...or near to it." She smiled and sat by the den.
"I want to move all the roses and deepen the den, maybe widen the entrance a bit before replanting them. Just think our pups born smelling the roses..." She gave a happy sigh and smiled at his excitement.

"Darling, our pups shall have roses.. Oodles and oodles. They shall have everything their little hearts desire. They.. they are ours."
He said, as if he needed to say it to make it real.
"You've made me so happy.."
He said to Disneyana, and smiled once more, his tail wagging.
He was not the most beautiful wolf. He knew that. But she had found something special in him..Special enough to give him something so precious.
