 Kahili still awoke to a chill in the air and sometimes even frost on the small blades of grass. It usually warmed up during the day but still the chill would always get to her....Wait a minute. She lifted her head to look around. Where the hell had her portable heater gone to?? Throughout the winter that's normally what she had refered to Aut as since it was basically true, it was an amazement that anyone survived through the cold by themselves. Well now she had to go track him down.Probably just went to find morning breakfast or something. Well he'd get an earful for leaving her to freeze to death that's for sure.
Spring was close. She wished it would come faster. There wasn't anything good to eat around in the winter. Spring and Summer brought delicious fruits and flowers, not that she'd eat the flowes. Maybe a daisy or two. But they made the landscape a lot better to look at than just plain grass and boring leafless trees. She dug at the grass to get the frost off and ripped some out to munch on it. Daily boring routine. Spring REALLY needed to hurry up. As she munched on the half frozen grass she kept her eyes out for her heater to pop up somewhere.

The task of carrying two apples in one's mouth at the same time, is far from easy.
Autiren grumbled as, for easily the 6th time in the past five minutes, one of the two apples he carried slipped from his mouth, dropping to the frigid ground below.
Could this BE any harder? Jeeze. All I want to do is bring her back some food,...
Finally, a long sigh escaped him.
Barely yards in front of him, he saw her. Pale, beautiful coat... just.... beauty.
He smiled.
Autiren knelt slightly, nudging both apples next to eachother, and carefully, lightly, picking them up side by side... It was quite an interesting sight, really.
He slowly, but surely, made his way forward, sneaking up behind her as he found he loved so to do.
A yard away, he dropped both apples to the ground, a slight grin marking his maw.
Only a slight one though.
He was getting prepared for the scolding he was sure to get for wandering off.
"Good mornin, Lov'" He said gently, head tilting down to nudge the two apples closer together again on the ground, peeking up there after at the mare.

Kahili turned her head to look at him...Well more stare at him. To be specific, stare him down. She glanced down and saw the apples. Well at least he did one thing useful. She turned around and took a big bite out of one of the apples, hiding the other one behind her hoof. "So then where's your breakfast? These apples should hold me for a little bit." Obvious payback for him leaving her this morning to freeze. Buuuuut she couldn't be mean to him forever.
After she'd finished her apple, and still staring at him for a while, she picked up the second apple and gave it to him. "You leave me again you won't eat for a week." She wrinkled her nose at him. "Got it?" And with that she gave his cheek a lick and went back to digging for some grass.

Autiren grinned lightly.
"Actually, I did really bring both of those for you. I could only find the two apples... no more.. and obviously no less. Otherwise, I would've brought you more. Like you said.. they'll only hold you over for a little bit."
He smiled then, nipping at her gently at her the lick to his cheek.
"I'm sorry. I didn't think you were going to wake up until after I got back... and I didn't expect to be as long as I was."
He stared at her.
His smile only grew.
His dark eyes were deep,.. and full of.. love?
God that's so corny.

Kahili shook her head at him. "You need to eat too, I'll be fine." She continued digging into the frosty grass and then pulling out the blades with her teeth. "How could you not know I would wake up? It's freezing out here and my space heater got up and walked away! I think that's noticable." When she looked up at him he the goofiest looking grin on his face. "What? I got grass on my face?" She went cross-eyed to look at her nose and expected to see some grass or even a bug but as far as she could tell she couldn't see anything.
