Battlefield randomization!
Grass field: The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustled the flat grassland arena, sending small clouds of harmless pollen into the air. The land is completely flat, making manuverability easy to those build to walk on land. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GRASS type attacks

Piney had been involved with multipokemon battles before. But not with one involving all her Pokemon. She wondered briefly if they could stand up to something that was going to be this tough, then shook the thought out of her head. They were strong. She had to have faith in them.
The trainer she was facing against wasn't an unfamiliar face. She fought against her before, and that battle didn't exactly end well. But that was with one of her weaker Pokemon, and he and all of them had grown stronger since then.
"Are you ready for this?" She called out to Rene while stretching a bit.

"Sure thing, Piney!" Renekai called. Another multi pokemon battle, all of them her strongest pokemon. She couldn't lose! And this would bring them all some much-needed experience.
At her side, four pokeballs wiggled excitedly. They were ready to fight! Renekai brushed her hand against them, wondering which she should use first.
Renekai looked at the field. Grass field... It wasn't exactly helpful, but maneuverability would be much easier on all her pokemon. That was a good thing.
"Ready when you are!"

"Alright then!" Piney grabbed her Pokeball and promptly threw it into the air. "Let's go Tomfoolery! And use a Thunderbolt while you're at it!"
The Skitty didn't expect to be sent out first. After all, he was probably Piney's weakest Pokemon. Whatever reason his trainer had, he ignored it and launched a jolt of electricity at the Pokemon that was to be sent out.

"Go, Faye!" shouted Renekai. "Use Ancient Power!"
Faye appeared in a red beam of light. He blinked his mismatched eyes, dodged the Thunderbolt, and used his psychic powers to form a rock barrier around himself. He giggled behind the spinning boulders. This would be fun!
Renekai watched tensely. She hadn't expected to use Faye at the very beginning, but it would be fine.

Whoa wait a sec. Since when did Rene get a Mew? Piney was tempted to call Tomfoolery back, seeing that this was out of his league. But no. He would do just fine, if they stuck to their current strategy.
"Another Thunderbolt!" She hoped that this one would hit and paralyze this time.
A mew? Tomfoolery was a bit scared at the formidible opponent but didn't show it. He looked like he was younger than him anyway.
Instead, he hissed at Faye as he launched another lightning attack. Take that!

"Refresh!" shouted Renekai. Wow, paralysis from the start?
Faye was sad when he couldn't move, but in another moment he seemed to sparkle. Faye giggled once he was cured. He could move again! And he did so, looping in the air quite happily.

That was rather unexpected. Piney had to remember next time that Mews can learn such things. If she and her Pokemon would face one again.
Sighing, she tried to think of another move to use. Well, if paralysis wouldn't work, then she'd have to beat them at their own game.
"Calm Mind!"
But Tomfoolery wanted to take a shot at attacking him! Sighing, he closed his eyes and calmed his mind and muscles, strengthening them for the next attack.

"Drain Punch!" Renekai shouted.
Faye dove forward with one paw glowing slightly red. Once he was close enough, Faye poked a tongue out in concentration and aimed a punch at his fellow cat pokemon.

It was bad enough to get punch by someone that barely had long enough arms to make a powerful punch. And it was worse that not only did it hurt a lot, he could feel some life drained out of him. He stumbled backwards and hissed again, hoping that this time his trainer would give the command to attack now.
"Nope. Not yet Tom. Sorry." Piney could tell that he was rearing up for a battle, but blindly charging in wasn't going to win this match. "Just one more Calm mind! Seriously!"
The skitty glared at her (with barely open eyes) and focused once more. Despite the throbbing pain in the place where Faye had hit him.

Faye called up more rocks and formed a new barrier. However, this one made him feel more ready to fight, rather than have higher defense. He let the rocks fall and laughed at the sound of the crashes.

"Ok, Tomfoolery, now you can fight. Use a Faint attack!" Piney said, a little antsy on how that might turn out. Please don't be stupid, please don't be stupid...
Tomfoolery was not amused by the mew's laugh, nor by the falling rocks. He ran and charged towards him in a sprint before vanishing instantly. Then when he reappeared, he was right in front of his opponent and moved in to strike.

Faye aimed another punch at the skitty after he was hit. His giggles were quite gone now after the painful hit from the pink kitty. This time, he hoped that he could regain some health from the attack!
