Stella ran out into the court yard, laughing. "I hope we meet someone!" She said, looking over her shoulder at her mother. "Maybe someone cool, like Az!"
Luna couldn't help it, she chuckled as she followed the toddler down the stairs. "Maybe you shouldn't hold them to such high standerds," She teased. "Az is pretty cool."

Kait cleaned Zak's bloody nose from where Hunter had headbutted him in their most recent disagreement. She sighed and ruffled his hair as she stood up. "Let's go out and play Zak.
Zak sniffled and rubbed the tears from his eyes as he smiled. Pushing himself up he followed her out of the door.

Stella spotted a boy and waved at him. "Hi!" She called. She ran towards him, grinning. Maybe he would like to play. Then she remembered she had to be polite and introduce herself first."I'm Stella, what's your name?"
Luna chuckled, waving to Kait.

Kait nodded to Luna in greeting as she watched Zak.
Zak smiled wider and walked closer to the girl. "I'm Zak! Wanna play?" He looked back at Kait to make sure it was okay. She smiled and urged him on.

"Zak's a cool name," Stella said smiling. "Sure! What do you want to play?" Maybe Zak would teach her a new game, or she could teach him one. That would be fun!
Luna sat on the bench, and made a gesture inviting Kait to sit next to her.

Zak thought for a moment. His blue eyes endlessly shifting as he did. Tag? No. To everyday. He didn't want to seem dumb, so he smiled. "You pick." He grinned to himself. That way Stella could pick something that she liked to play.
Kait sat next to Luna and flashed a soft smile. "She's very cute."

Stella had to think about it. She really didn't know what to play. "Um.. How about.. Do you know how to play pretend?" She asked, with a tilt of her head. Her mother had only just recently taught her to play.
Luna returned the smile, "Thank you, your son is too." She paused. "I'm Luna."

Pretend? Of course he knew. It was his favorite game. Zak smiled and nodded at Stella. "I love pretend. What do you want to pretend? Let's be pirates!" Pirates were his latest obsession. Hunter always teased him that warriors were cooler, but Zak stuck to pirates. It would be fun to sail in a huge ship being in charge of a crew. Someone he could boss around.
Kait smiled softly, "I'm Kait. Its nice to meet you."

"I'll be a pirate princess!" Stella said happily. She knew about pirates, because her mother read about them. She also knew that princesses were often kidnapped. She wanted the best of both worlds. A sword fighting princess would be perfect.

Zak laughed. A pirate princess?!? He had never heard of that before. Stella had a really good imagination! He thought for a minute as he ran his hand through his hair trying to push it out of his eyes. A captain! That's what he would be! Not just any pirate captain though! He'd be the king of pirates! "I'll be the most famous pirate captain of all the seven seas!"

Stella smiled, a captain sounded good to her. "Where do you want to go, captain?" She asked, with a tilt of her head. "To sail uncharted seas? To find buried treasure? Hold someone for ransom?"
That was what the pirates in the books her Mommy read did anyway. She was merely quoting her mother; she didn't know what the words 'ransom' or 'uncharted' meant.

Zak puzzled over her suggestions for a few long seconds. "How about all three?!" He hopped onto a bench excitedly and struck what he hoped was a very captain-ish pose. Playing with Stella was lots of fun!

Zak laughed and jumped up onto a bench, striking a heroic pose. "First we'll sail the seas looking for treasure and making a name for our scary pirate ship!" He looked down at Stella and laughed. "Hurry and get on the ship before you drown!"

Stella jumped up onto the bench, she certainly didn't want to drown! "How about... the Jolly Roger? They call pirate flags that. Mommy told me." She nodded as wisely as a toddler could, before looking through her hands like a telescope of sorts.
"I see an island!" She told the captain, "Do you see it?"
