Elisteira Edgeworth was ordered to put on her glasses, or else she was not allowed to go out.
Still, she didn't particularly like it; she had insisted that they were her reading glasses. Made only for reading, she said. Elise knew that she did get lost several times even around the house and had been scared to death when she did, but she knew that someone would always come and find her, at least.
But Ayako said they couldn't be worried for her all the time, and what if she got lost and they couldn't find her?
The winged girl grudgingly agreed, and her glasses were now firmly on her nose as she set out of the house to explore about, with instructions to return home after dark. Her wings were still held stiffly against her back; Elise hadn't tried to use them ever since Papa told her he couldn't fly with his own.
Oh well, she wasn't missing much.

It was difficult to fly without sight, Elden would have to admit. But it wasn't totally impossible. He had his other senses to help him out for what he lacked in his eyes. They were more than good enough for the job of helping him navigate.
He knew the area well enough as he did often come here growing up with his sisters. They would often come here for picnics and just to play and meet new Kitsus. All three of them would usually stay close together, but as they grew they became less...dependant upon each other, though still as close as ever.
The feeling of flying was difficult to describe. To Elden it was a sort of high. A feeling of euphoria mixed with feelings of calmness. It was something incompariable to anything else he experienced so far in his life.
Softly landing near the entrace of HQ, he wondered if anyone he knew was around here. Meeting new friends would also be enjoyable. Though he would not expect of what's to come.

As she had just reached the door of the HQ, Elise noticed, with a frown, that her cravat was not as neat as it should be. She sat, adjusting the cravat around her neck until she was satisfied. Daddy wouldn't like it if she went back all messy. Elise was proud, very proud of her cravat, it, in her opinion, was a similarity that brought her closer to her daddy.
Elise was very fond of Miles Edgeworth indeed.
The teen then looked up, only to spot a kitsu larger than she was, and with wings. Very pretty wings. The girl stared, fascinated, and padded up to the other and remarked. "I like your wings." It was a simple sentence, tinged with childish curiosity.

"Thank you," he replied modestly. He could never truly see how "beautiful" his wings were. All the sights of his wings were from borrowed eyes. Different eyes perceive different things and even though his sisters' eyes had no "handicap" to them, he never got the chance to see them through his own eyes, nor will he ever.
Tucking his wings closer to his sides, he smiled softly at the young teenager. He couldn't tell she had her very own set of beautiful wings on her back. Unless she moved flapped it not even his ears could tell just by her standing in front of him.
Whenever he "glanced" at someone, he tried to move his eyes to wherever he thought the other's eye-level was. His eyes seemed as if he was staring into the distance just a bit above Elise's head. Another thing was the timing between each blink was a bit longer than usual for most. It would probably make most awkward, but he thought it would make them even more uncomfortable if he didn't blink or tried to look at them.
"So what has brought such a charming young lady such as yourself outside all alone on such a nice day out? Do you not have siblings or friends to play with?"

The teen smiled at him brightly, not knowing that he could not see it, pushing her glasses up her nose as she continued gazing at him with wide eyes. Papa had wings, Aunt Kalliope had wings, even godmother had wings, albeit tiny ones. But she had never seen ones like his. They sparkled, like the stars in the sky. How very, very strange! "Can I touch them?" She asked in wonder.
It was even more strange, she thought, that he was glancing at the top of her head and she stood up straighter, her wings moving slightly as she did so.
"I do!" Elisteira bobbed her head. "I just figured I'd go out and meet new people! Godmommy says I shouldn't hole myself up at home all day." Ayako had been looking pointedly at Xanul as she said it.
"Besides," She added, frowning a little. "They all don't have wings...and Papa has doesn't know how to use his. No one can really teach me how to fly."

"Go ahead. You may touch them," he nodded lightly at the teenage girl. She must find them quite fascinating. Elden and his sisters all had very unique wings. They functioned like any other pair of wings, it was only their appearances that were different.
"No one can teach you how to fly? Hmm..." He said as he drifted off in thought. Elden could try his hand in teaching the youngster. It couldn't hurt to try, right? He might not be the best teacher in the world...
"If you have time and faith, maybe I can teach you how to spread your wings and soar in the sky. Though you might end up falling quite a bit and hurting yourself before you can. So if you are alright with all that then we can give it a try?"

Grinning with delight, she squeaked out a thank you (She always had to be polite, after all!) and reach out a paw to caress one of his wings gently. It felt like a normal wing, admittedly, though she was still very much distracted by the orange sparkles.
"Nope." She shook her head forlornly. Lamont had said she could ask Kalliope, but she had a halo. In Elise's mind, it made her different, and anyway, she hadn't really had a chance to talk to her yet. "I never really cared." She admitted softly. "Cause my siblings don't have them, so I just didn't bother. But I think it would be helpful, in some way, or in the future, maybe, to know at least how they work."
And she could teach Papa how to fly too, maybe! It was a bit strange to have wings and not to know how to fly.
Elisteira paused for a moment, lapsing into thought. "...I guess. I'll be extra careful!" Daddy wouldn't like it if she got hurt...in fact, all of her family members wouldn't. "My name is Elisteira! What's yours?" The teen chirped, wagging her tails.

He was happy to know she was so excited to see another with wings, especially one with wings like his. It never really occured to him if wings were an uncommon thing among his kind. Guess he just took it for granted.
"Both my sisters have wings. They are very much like mine, but they work the same as any other pair of wings, I would think."
Hemera had fiery wings like those of a phoenix and Noctis had sort of translucent-y wings like his, only in a soft bluish kind of color. They both flew normally as any other Kitsu with wings who knew how to fly.
"Oh, how rude of me. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Elden. It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Elisteira. If you would like, we can get started right away? I am not exactly sure how to start, so I guess we can start with gliding...since that is close to flying."

"Cool." Elise echoed in wonder. It was fascinating how wings could be so different! Little ones, big ones, some with a few pairs, shimmery ones....
She bobbed her head in reply. "Same here, Mister Elden!" He had an 'E' name! Just like her and Edgar and Daddy! Elisteira was, for a moment, distracted by this fact for a bit, before snapping back to smile at Elden. "That would be nice." A pause. "What is gliding?"

She didn't know what gliding was? Her knowledge of flight was not what he expected it to be. At the least he would expect her to watch or read about flying even if she doesn't know how to do it. Still, he was more than willing to help her. It wasn't as if he had any prerequisites for her.
"Hm..." He said aloud as he pondered how to explain gliding to her, "The best way I can describe it is 'slowly falling'. You just get used to your wings and the way they feel when you are in the air. I believe it is one of the first steps to learning how to fly. Of course, you may not get it right the first time as anyone seldom does. It took me almost a month to get the hang of it, but I am more than willing to give you a crash course on this. You can practice it and maybe even tell your siblings and get them to practice with you," he smiled softly.
"First, though, we need a location with higher ground. Maybe the top of a tree or the top of a roof. I will show you and then you can follow my lead after. If anything goes wrong I will do my best to catch you before you crash into the earth." Elden nodded confidently. He was certain he could swoop down to glide her to safety before she scratched her face against the ground.

Honestly, Elisteira had been more interested in reading anything to do with lawyers. Crime investigation stories, books on law, were those that she dragged out of the bookcases constantly and pored over with a happy glint in her eyes.
"It's hard to fly, isn't it?" She pouted, ears drooping slightly. If only Lamont, Edgar, or Daddy were here! She would feel much more safe, then. "The only one I can practice with is Papa. My siblings don't have wings."
"Okay." She beamed, nodding. He seemed nice, and Elise trusted nice people.

"Hm, at first it is hard to get the feel of flying down, but once you are accustomed to it, it will feel like second nature," He admitted, "It was easier for me because I learned it with my sisters...I can imagine that it would have been much more difficult if I had to learn it alone," he nodded. His sisters and him were there for each other, giving tips and advice when one failed so the other could succeed.
The roof would be difficult to climb onto with that skirt..."Um...This might sound a bit weird, but would you mind if I grabbed onto you while we get onto the roof? I plan on flying up there with the two of us to make things easier." Plus it would help him get a sense of the increased weight so if anything should happen he would be prepared to catch her midair.

"Well, I have you!" The little girl said brightly, wagging her tails as she pushed her glasses up on her nose. Oh, they could be so annoying when they slid down sometimes, but Elisteira was too excited about this prospect of flying to even bother to be grumpy because of her glasses.
Elise merely grinned, nodding fervently. "That would be fine." After a slight pause however, she added. "Just tell me when you're going to fly?" Sure, she was excited, but excitement didn't exactly cover for nervousness.

Yes, yes she did have him. He would do his darnest to catch the girl when she fell. She was still a young girl, he could definitely support both their weight combined together if need be. Heck, when he was younger and his sisters and him were learning how to fly there were a couple times where he caught the two of them. He had faith in his wings.
"Ok, first I will hold onto you like this..." two paws wrapped semi-tightly around her waist. It was tight enough so she couldn't slip, but not so it was uncomfortabily squeezing her. He leaned back slightly so he was in a sort of squatting position before he started flapping his wings.
"Here we go...!" He said as they slowly started lifting off the ground. It was slow, but they were definitely gaining height.

Elise didn't wiggle about, staying as still as she could to make things easier for him. She didn't want to fall from his grasp after all!
She squeaked as they rose up into the air, squeezing her eyes shut on reflex. But...she couldn't possibly close her eyes every time she tried to fly, could she? Heart pounding in her chest, she opened one eyelid slowly to peek out, then opened the other tentatively. As long as she didn't look down, it would be all right! Some books she read had such information about these sort of things.
