Humming a cheery tune, Marini had wandered away from the den for the afternoon looking for something exciting to do. It was sooo boring at home sometimes! Adolescence had definitely hit her hard. She was feeling restless, she was less keen on just hanging out with her mom and dad and she definitely thought she needed to get out more. She didn't know what exactly she expected for the afternoon, but she went to the one place she was guaranteed to find someone to talk to- the water hole. Wait around there, you'd find somebody!
"All this pride, nothing to do," she hummed.

Mivu couldn't sleep anymore, and that was what had made him a bit irritable. Usually he could sleep all day long, or at least to his heart's content. So he figured a nice, relaxing bath would be beneficial for him. A quiet one. Because that's what he wanted at the moment.
So he trotted out of the den and headed over to the nearest water hole. And he saw his other sister, Marini, dabbling by the pool. Mivu closed his eyes and prepared himself for interacting with his sister. Some days, it took more...patience and experience than other days.

Once she reached the waterhole, she was disappointed to find that there was nobody around. She figured if she waited, though, eventually someone would show up and then all would be well! While waiting, she edged her way into the water, wading calmly and continuing to hum to herself. She was surprised when she turned her head, seeing a golden figure in her peripheral vision, to find that her brother was heading her way. She snorted a laugh, but she smiled anyway.
Her brother was still someone to talk to. For now.
"Miiivu," she called.

He plastered a calm smile on his face as he trotted forward, closer to his sister.
"Mari," he returned with a simple nod. "What are you doing out here by yourself?" He figured it couldn't be too different than his own wish to be away from his family at the moment. It was tough, sometimes. Mother would be too doting. Father would be just...father. His littlest sister was forever following him around (which, of course, he didn't really mind so much as anyone else, but he still needed some alone time). And he hadn't really spent time with his other brother, although they were very close in age. Family time just wasn't that big.

"I went for a walk, of course!" she said brightly, narrowing her eyes and smirking at her brother, "Not following me around are you? What are you doing out here?" Sometimes everybody seemed to worry about her and she just didn't understand why, she was perfectly fine. She meant it as a joke, what she said to Mivu, but still she had her suspicions. She waved her paw through the water, glancing around despite having just asked Mivu a question. It was unusual that nobody was around, though it was quite hot out.

Mm, a walk. "I wanted to take a bath," he replied calmly. "Of course I wasn't following you, silly. Why would I do something like that? I didn't even know you were going to be out here." He went ahead and paddled into the water pool a fair distance from his sister. Still close enough to continue their conversation but far enough away fro both of them to have their own privacy.

"A bath?" she repeated, giggling at his response to her accusation and daring to splash at him playfully. He was so calm and serious, it was too tempting to resist. If he was going to stick around with her, he'd better be more entertaining than this, haha.
"Not very busy here today," she commented, looking around again.

He closed his eye as he got splashed with water; a second later, his more playful streak came out and Mivu and the young lion took a paw and splashed a responding wave at his sister. "Yes, a bath!" he told her. "But I guess you want one more than me!"
He shook his small mane (short, but growing, and he was very proud of it) and glanced around as well. "Yeah, it is kinda empty."

Marini shrieked a bit louder than necessary when Mivu splashed back at her, sending a larger wave her way. She had not really planned on getting completely wet but she knew she had started this and, well, it was more amusing than just walking through the water. She was ready to jump at him when he shook the water from his growing mane, knowing very well that he was only hear to bathe. If he could still carry on a conversation, then he hardly seemed interested in any game that might come of the splash fight.
"It's disappointing," she commented, "No one here entertain me, just you!" She grinned, waiting to see if he would tell her to buzz off or if he would really want to do something with her more entertaining than just washing off.

His ears curled backwards a little after her high-pitched squeal made the air ring all around him. Ouch! Did girls really need to scream that high? Didn't they know that males' ears weren't meant for such a pitch to even exist?
"Oh, sister dear, I did not come here to entertain you," he rushed to assure her. "Although since you ask for it so badly, I might be able to help you out." As grumpy as he had been earlier (in fact, minutes earlier), Mivu felt like having a bit of fun.
So he splashed another wave of water over his sister, grinning as he did so.

Marini didn't notice or care about Mivu's reaction to her screech, instead she focused on what he said. She stuck her tongue out at him when he said he had not come along to entertain her- then dared to smile hopefully when he said he would be willing to play along. Until she realized what he was doing, then she jumped back, splashing herself just as much as the wave from him.
But she didn't stop with a single jump back, no. She leaped forward, towards Mivu. She made a point of jumping every step she took, splashing her way towards her brother.
"You think- splashing- is so- funny?" she asked, punctuating every couple words with another jump or splash.

He had to close his eyes while he was drenched with the water from her splashes. Even though she was smaller than Mivu, she somehow managed to make waves large enough to cover his legs at the very least, and even reach so high as to wet his face.
Once she was done with her question (and splashing him with each word she said), he shook his head and opened his eyes to peer at her.
"Yes, I do, actually."
And once again, he used a paw to splash a wave over her. And then he did it again, and again, and a fourth time.

Marini was feeling very accomplished when she managed to get her brother to back down while she splashed, but she realized the mistake she made in stopping too late and soon was being splashed again. She let out another playful screech as she stepped back in a pointless effort to avoid the waves and slipped. With a much larger splash, she fell into the water, shallow though it was. Her head stayed above and part of her shoulders and back still showed, but the rest of her was soaked now.
"Now look what you did!" she cried accusingly, laughing as she scrambled to get back to her feet with some difficulty. It wasn't easy but she managed it, her pale fur hanging low and dripping.

Mivu couldn't help but crack out into laughter at the sight of his dripping-wet sister. She was completely soaked! Her fur clung to her skin and dripped water like a waterfall.
"Hahahahahaha!" He chuckled. "You know you deserved it, silly. You started the whole fight!" But he stepped a few paces closer, offering his help if she needed it to get up and out of the water and onto the nearby bank.

She made a face at him when he started laughing at her so sincerely. She had laughed too, but it was different when someone else was laughing at you! And so much! Her eyes narrowed at him and very quickly, she pushed herself out of the water and pounced at her brother with every intention of bringing him down into the water as well. The pounce combined with a slip as the ground beneath her made it very difficult, but she still managed to get a bit of spring into her jump.
