Who: Trisha, Edward, & Alphonse Elric (maybe more as the roleplay progresses) What: a new arrival, a family reunion Where: a clearing in Realm of Kitsusagi, within a day's walk from Headquarters. When: before Ed's second litter of kits have grown to teens Why: ...that should be rather obvious. There was a light fog, nothing too sight hindering but enough to blur the edges of everything. Bark, leaves, grass -they all clung with faint droplets of moisture from the fog making what light that did filter through sparkle faintly upon every surface, if only for the briefest moment and only on the closest things that could be seen through the misty fog. High, high up above the day was actually bright when one could break through the thin but expansive blanket of fog that had spread out across the realms of kitsusagi this morning. It was beautiful, not even remotely overcast at such altitude. The sun tried to peek through the wisps of fog in vain however, only making small fragments of light here or there and softly making the moistened air glow ever so gently. In those places, air and everything else shimmered a soft gold that was still difficult to distinguish outlines clearly through.
It was in a clearing, tucked within a fog blanketed woods not far past the front door of Realm Headquarters, that the strange blueish light started to form. It expanded and grew in a patterned circle, lighting up the moisture thick air all around as well as the surrounding dew-rich vegetation. A transmutation circle, for those that knew of them. The spikes of visual energy crackled in the silence, rising to heights that lifted over the tops of the green canopy high overhead like a beacon to anyone flying over.
Meanwhile on the ground a small maelstrom of vibrant energy was swirling counterclockwise like a dress being wrung out from a wash. Within the center, beneath the twist, a form seemed to be taking shape... or arriving. At first it was like a coalescing of light with a feeling of mass drawing together... and then it grew. As it grew the shape started to form into something that could be distinguished as a form. If one could see the form through the now iridescent fog and swirling vortex of light & energy one would be able to make out a female kitsu form with brown hair, winged. She lay upon the center of the circle of energy sprawled, as if asleep or otherwise fallen to the ground. One paw reached out for someone or something, the other forepaw closer to her chest. Brown hair obscured her face, while white wings that seemed to be being marked by the very circle around her covered much of the rest of her. Brown tails also pulling in the markings beneath where they lay half blanketed her hindlegs.
She breathed, if one could see past the display, but otherwise made no move.

It was still hard to imagine that he was a father, again. Not just of one or two, but this time SIX. Six kits! It was unfathomable and yet it was real. He had 10 children altogether. Clearly Edward had demonstrated his fatherly prowess was superior over the General b*****d. To say that he was proud to have 10 kits was an understatement. And of course, all the boys took after him, and all the girls were just as lovely as their mother. Granted, having such a huge litter this second time around was quite a chore. It had kept him and Liliana both rather busy with their paws full. Little kits running around all over the place was enough to make his fur stand on end and want to rip it out, but despite the stress... he really did love it.
Even though he was busy, Edward had promised to spend more time with his brother as well. The influx of kits didn't change the fact that Alphonse was also family and that the two of them were still very close. It was on this day that the two of them were spending some manly time together by taking a stroll through the woods and towards the HQ. The smaller of the pair's mismatched steps was easily recognizable as he walked across the forest floor. His head held high and a grin stretched across his maw with fatherly pride and confidence. "
"So Al, those boys looks just like me don't you think? Especially Benjamin, he's going to be just as good looking as his dad when he grows up."
Of course, this was not the first time that Edward had brought this subject up. If his younger self had been able to look at him now, Ed would probably scoff at the fact that he was no better than Maes Hughes for the way he gushed over his family. He was about to continue his ramblings when a flash of light though the trees managed to catch the corner of his vision. Edward paused, ears upright as he turned his golden gaze in the direction it had come from. "Al... did you see that?"

Alphonse made a lighthearted pleased chuckle in reply to his brother's general happiness, and was happy for that fact in itself. Infact, Al couldn't remember a time when he had seen his brother happier. Heck knew he needed it more than anybody with some of the things that both him and his brother had been through in the past.
The younger Elric brother gave his brother a wry teasing grin and tilted one ear to his side, cocking his head. "Oh I don't know, brother," He smirked. "Just as good looking as you? Now that's a hard one to match, isn't it? I'm sure Liliana would have to agree with me on that one. But they are good looking kits, for sure. And noisy... they certainly take after their dad there!" He reached over to give his elder brother a playful cuff in the shoulder.
His grin faded shortly after, however, for he had noticed the light also. He recognized a transmutation anywhere. He was more than sure his brother was thinking the same thing, also.
"Yeah..." Al pinned his ears back. "...I saw it." Now his body was tense. Who could possibly be playing with such things in the Kitsusagi Realm of all places? It could mean any number of things, an enemy being one of them.
"Oh please don't let it be that..." He mumbled under his breath. "Brother," He said finally at normal speaking volume. "Do you think we should check it out?"

The great flash of alchemic workings over the light started to recede into the circle. Within the center, the winged kitsusagi female within barely stirred. She felt as if she had been in a marathon... no. That was not quite right. It was more like having slept far, far too long. When the body feels unused and the waking is like a miniature relearning process, or at least feels like it. Yes. That was more like it. Gently stiff and unused.
Aside from that -she felt remarkably well. The pain... it's gone. Blue green eyes blinked in surprise at the revelation. She remembered... not very much really... but having been sick for so many years, she remembered that. It had been getting worse, but for her boys...
My boys... Those gentle eyes sprung forth tears looking out over the transmutation circle through brown hair half fallen over her eyes as the circle's light lowered slowly. Hoenheim... where are our sons?
There would be no answer from the man she loved, this she knew, but... it eased her heart to think of asking him. Where was she though, if not with her sons? She did not remember being separated from them...
No... wait... a glimmer. She had been very ill. Fallen. She was sure she was going to die. Very vaguely... she remembered asking Edward to transmute some flowers for her, like Hoenheim always had. She remembered holding their two small hands in hers -Edward's & Alphonse's. Beyond that... nothing, Even before that... some things were clearer than others.
Tails shifted and dragged over her furry back legs. Those she certainly did not remember. Nor the large wings that currently covered her like a warm feather blanket. Somehow... the female could feel that they were part of her, part of her body. There were no hints in her memories that she had such things before however.
If her sons were here... would they recognize her now? Would Hoenheim? Gently sad blue-green eyes continued to gaze through hair and light, taking in the transmutation circle almost casually -though with an odd almost slightly happy little smile. Maybe... maybe Hoenheim had somehow come up with a way... No. He was not going to do human transmutation anymore. At least... she thought she remembered him saying that. Part of why he had to leave... part of why... though she asked -she thought for sure she would have asked- she had not begged him to stay. Because he had left... for their sons.
And she had lived for their sons, though she felt she would die, and they were her light and her joy. Now where was she, without her sons, in a place that looked like nowhere around Risembool that she remembered. The only thing familiar... the transmutation circle spread out from her prone form.
I think I'll... lay here a while... the new kitsu thought softly to herself. Except for a tiny little shift to see if something really worked that was it.

Edward paused, looking in the direction where the light had come from. The all too familiar glow of an alchemic reaction. It wasn't something you saw often in this place. However, when Alphonse asked if they should check it out, he gave only a silent nod and began moving towards where the light had been.
As they drew closer, the alchemist Kitsu grimaced as his stumps began to ache. Just as they did when it was going to rain, yet it was different this time. There was something strange going on here.
Pushing through the foliage and into the clearing beyond, Edward then suddenly stopped in his tracks. His breath caught in his throat and his body trembled as he saw the Kitsusagi that was lying before him on the ground.
It looked... just like her, but it couldn't be.
Then he remembered and a sudden scowl came upon his face. He remembered the homunculus that had taken the form of his mother, Sloth. Ever the skeptic, he knew that this could be her and it was certainly a more likely possibility.
"Alright, who are you?" Edward demanded, stepping closer but not daring to get too close. He remained on guard, just in case.

His brother's nod was the only gesture he needed. Alphonse readily followed his brother's lead to the origin of the light, his expression a mixture of worry, confusion and determination all at once. What lied ahead? He was very much uncertain, but curiousity drove him forwards regardless. He followed his brother through the foiliage, idly flicking away a stray leaf with a quick movement of his ear - something that he did without thinking about now that he had been a Kitsusagi for so long. He stepped into the clearing, blinking. Although, his reaction was quite different to his brother's when he saw the still form lying on the ground in front of them.
He froze solid, staring. In that moment, the entire world seemed to stand still. Thoughts and questions raced through his mind, but the only thing he could manage to squeak out was a dull whimper.
"Mmm... m-mom...?" Hot tears pricked at his eyes and but quickly blinked them back. He vaguely watched his brother's cautious steps closer, but he took the incentive to rush to her side, cautiously prodding her shoulder with a paw.
"W-what's going on, brother?" He whimpered in a confused tone, acting very much like a little kid right now. Surely his elder brother had the answers.

New senses attempted to inform the female of the encroaching company but the stimuli was too much for her to make out what the scents and sounds could be. Truthfully it was more than a little overwhelming and she was tired. Really she felt drained and it was an effort in itself to open her eyes at the snap of a male voice. He sounds angry... why? Am I trespassing somewhere? Perhaps I can explain... well at least that I don't know...
The flutter of thoughts engaged stilled then shifted almost achingly at the touch and words of the other male as the mother without her sons felt bereft without them, being called such again. A bit of whimper filtered out as she tried to turn with her new limbs though she smiled softly to cover the pain from her stiffness automatically to save others from it. The smile was so instinctive, gentle.
Her blue green eyes were a little clouded from the recent arrival as well as the slight mist-like fog around them but she could see two male creatures that she guessed must be much like herself with their fur and three tails and wings. They were dressed similarly she noted, which at once was both comforting in its familiarity to what she knew and mystifying at the same time for she could see they walked on fours at odds with the more 'human' way they dressed. Like me. The still laying kitsu realized, acknowledging the familiar housedress and apron she always wore.
The nearer male -the one that had nudged her in such a kind fashion and had the more gentle sounding voice- seemed to be looking at her expectantly. Mothering instinct was causing her to have a hard time not taking him into her arms (paws?) at the combination of hidden, held tears and whimpering question. Especially on top of being called 'mom' by him. She wished for his sake so she could wipe those tears away that she was. Sadly she offered another soft smile. "Mom?" Repeating the name faintly she very lightly shook her head being careful not to make her vision spin. "No, I don't think so." Her blue green eyes were soft and held a far-away sadness as she met the closer male's eyes. The color... so like Alphonse's... "My boys are young. Small. And not..."
The faintest of frowns touched in her eyes as confusion set in. They had all been human in Risembool... but now... well she clearly was not human now but something else. If Edward and Alphonse were here (even Hoenheim) would they be human or like she was? Uncertain, she decided to drop that train of thought for the time being since she did not know how to address it in her own mind much less to the males with her who were clearly waiting on answers. Another small flash of smile barely more than a slight lifting to the corners of her mouth as she looked between the guarded farther male and the nearer, young sounding one. Her brows furrowed a little, sadness of familiarity yet resignation gripping her heart. Tentatively she lifted a paw and as if in a dream touched the lighter blonde bangs near her without touching the kitsu himself. Very softly she murmured as if to herself, not seeming to notice the words might be audible. "Your hair... bangs... parted like theirs... and eyes so similar in shade..."
Lightly she shook her head again, paw curling back into herself as the dream or memory withdrew. Her boys were little... these males were the equivalent of young men. It was hope of finding her boys in this strange reality had her all out of whack. Putting a smile back on she settled into a more comfortable position for her new form, curling her legs beneath her body while laying on her belly & tucking her wings against her back. "You're brothers? It's so nice to see family sticking together."
Though frightened and missing her family she hoped wherever her sons were they were together and looking out for each other. She wished she had not had to leave them to fend for themselves so young. Her darling boys...
Softly she blinked, head turning to the one with the demanding tone & stance. That was right... he had asked a question. A sheepish look spread over her simple yet pretty features. "I'm sorry. You asked a question. So much to take in I'm afraid I was distracted..." Once more that smile, but this time slightly warmer in welcome as she looked between both males to include each in her greeting. "I'm Trisha Elric. Pleasure to meet you."

"Careful Al, she could be another fake! She could be that homunculus..." His voice turned seething at the last word, for the homunculi had plagued him both in the last life and this one. It was entirely possible that Sloth could have been brought over just like Envy and Lust. Although it skirted his mind that their real mother could have been brought here too, he remained the skeptic.
A severe scowl remained on Edward's face, golden eyes of determination and suspicion watching the female's every move. He bristled as she reached for his brother. Ed jumped to his feet but then nothing happened and he relaxed... but only a little.
He would do anything to protect his brother, even if it meant from someone who looked like their own mother. He didn't trust her, for he had been burned one time too many. Edward had also accepted the fact that he would never see his mother again, and that's how it was. For it to happen was inconceivable.
However, when Trisha introduced herself, it even gave Edward reason to pause. He was shocked into silence, for even Sloth hadn't ever called herself Trisha Elric... even when trying to fool him.
