Pustulio demands your attention! Anyone here foster pets for rescue shelters or take in strays? Just wanted to get a show of hands. I used to at the pet store I work at. We have pups, so if we had someone with a particularly bad case, my back yard and bed was always open. Let's see...there was Buddy the Beagle, Einstein the Corgi, Taffy the golden doodle, Jacques the Toy Poodle and Winston the Basset. Though my house had been barren of little puppy footsteps because we got a new kennel tech and haven't had anyone get sick. o.o So I need a kudos for our new kennel tech, even though it means I don't get to bring any puppies home. =w="

We sometimes keep some cats or kittens at the clinic to help to socialize them. But I do not regularly foster. It is a great way to help though.

Pustulio demands your attention! It's fun, but you need to make sure all the critters in your family have their vaccinations. Last thing anyone needs is for a long time family pet to catch something from a foster. ^^"

We have two adult cats we need to find homes for living at the clinic now and I will miss them when they leave, but I know they will be happier living in a home than at the clinic.

I always find it very rewarding, especially when you're there when it's going home. I remember the lady that took home Taffy was flabbergasted when I was truthful about what her condition had been before and graciously accepted the advice and suggestions I had to offer about Taff's favorite toys, treats and even happier when I told her I had her housebroken for the most part. XD It's not stupid. It's advanced!
